  1. Sometimes. If it wasn't for the Mounts combined with Taco/Tekkit map completion routes my vote would probably have been No. I am actually enjoying it now sometimes when I know I do not have to search for that elusive PoI or Waypoint. I have also been rather lucky with the Black Lion Keys, so that has been somewhat of an incentive lately. I really enjoy GW2's vibrant world and NPC environment, however during map-completion I am not really giving it all that much attention. Too much in a rush. I do sometimes let the vista-cinematic play out till the end, as an hommage to Anet's World Builders. :) So many amazing locales.
  2. Rollerbeetle QoL improvement: when we whip out this mount, please let us start with at least half an endurance bar full, instead of an empty one. I do not think that is too overpowered. I understand the delay they built in but for me this is pretty much why I never use the beetle, not even in the desert. By the time I can finally speed that thing up, I would have been halfway where I want to go with my Raptor. I do use that mount endurance buff but even with that it just takes too long to rev it up. I think the beetle already has enough other drawbacks , i.e. the tough maneuvering at high speed, and the fact that it slows down humongously when going up hill. Please let us get to speed with this mount faster then we can now. NB: I am fine with the fact that the speedboost needs (and uses up) an entire Endurance bar: it's just starting up with a completely empty bar that kinda kills this mount for me.
  3. I created my own Solo end-game by investing 125 gold into buying all 25 Volumes 1 of the Legendary Weapons Precursors that have a Collection tied to them. I now have about 25x20= 500 small adventures waiting for me in the wide world of Tyria, that range from doing a certain event, to killing a certain creature, to brewing some concoction, to a jumping puzzle or Fractal. And at the end of that journey a wonderful Reward will be waiting: 25 of the most ugly, botched weapons that Tyria ever brought forth. :) Best way to revisit the world and feel immersed again as if you did it for the first time. And off course you can take any weapon further from there but that is where it gets costly and grindy. The third collection is actually as fun as the first if a bit harder but you have to get past that expensive hurdle of the second collection. But those first (and third)Precursor collections are what this game is all about, for me at least. Minimal investment required (only need Revered Antiquarion mastery for the first collection) and lots of fun involved.
  4. I have Astralaria, Howler, Incinerator, Rodgort, Sam, 528 piles of Glittering Dust and 4 Globs of Globby Goop. Could it be possible to combine these into a Legendary Special Snowflake with bunny ears that breathes Fire and Dust?
  5. I also meet all requirements except the Raid wing and fractals 25-50 and I do not think it is a good dea. The rewards for your coins are too all-encompassing and too plentiful and will rather frustrate new players then entice them: before this Cornucopia opens up for them they first have to reach all sorts of goals, that they might not want to pursue otherwise, like Leggies, Raids, Fractals till 50 and such. The beauty of this game is that there are many types of goals and ways to play it, and people can take their pick. They should not feel pushed into doing ALL those things ASAP because such a reward system awaits them. New player who is interested in the cool Ambrite weapons: "Dang, those Geodes are slow in coming and those Dry top Keys are expensive! Is there a quicker way to earn them?" Veteran: "Yeah, start earning Veteran coins; only needs "insert huge list of achievements"!" I think new players would hate it, and also players that simply do not want to be pushed into doing certain content. Which is the majority I would think.
  6. Thanks for the explanation, Danikat, makes more sense now. :)
  7. How do you mean? Are you talking about making a legendary (for which you need Gift of Exploraton) and then sell the Legendary? That sounds like a lot of work for 500g, assuming that you buy every mat from the TP in the first place. Admitted, I enjoy making Legendaries (on my 5th) but not for selling. As to farming keys by rerolling a level 10 char: I am doing that now with my Alt accounts (using the "level up with Cooking for less then 1 gold") method and I am actually kinda enjoying it. However, I am 53 Keys later, and never got a single "uncommon" drop. Let alone a rare or superrare(which I understand). :) I am still enjoying it since I do get the occasional nice Dye now and then and off course some utility stuff. Also simply enjoy the mindless footwork as a noob in Queensdale. The wardrobe unlocks (few and far in between) have not much use since these alt accounts do not even have the simplest basic stuff so I get rather mundane stuff usually. :) Also, after a year, I guess I will have enough statuettes to get a Black Lion Claim ticket and maybe a couple of scrap tickets. All it did was strengthen my belief to never ever buy Keys for gems (dollars) in the store. 53 keys is over 4200 Gems which is equivalent to 50 euros... this must be the worst return for any microtransaction in any game(ok, hyperbole). I guess you have more use out of it if you use those keys on a single Main account, but still. To be sure, not strapped for money, else I would not have so many Alt accounts (that already paid themselves back in Dailies gold). I just think the rng on Keys is really, really bad. I use the gold from the Alt-dailies for making Legendaries. I want all of them! (Exept the newer ones without the collection part, those are boring).
  8. I also get disconnected during the final cutscene of the last chapter, twice now.
  9. It has been bugging at some point in the day for the last weeks for me. I agree that having assaults from both sides going on could be increasing the chance of bugging the event. Assuming that the assault is not carried through by players and people let the Foubear Master and Trainer alive, and let the event lapse. I am still surprised by how often I see people doing the Charr or Vanguard pre-events, then take off, not knowing that Maybri will spawn(or Tahiri) and the events can be progressed. I am sure some of them will trigger those often too, and then not follow up. I.e. there are lots of casual (unwitting)players that will finish and/or trigger one of the events, then let it lapse. This is forgivable, however for this particular DE chain, that means DOOM!
  10. I am doing this event daily with several characters on my account, and at some point in the day I find it bugged, 100% guaranteed. There have been numerous threads about this, some with very extensive investigations as to what causes these bugs but so far, no fix. Here is a very old explanation about how the event bugs, not sure if some fixes have been applied since then, but it still bugs solidly every day, despite any fixes. https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/2ngcjb/tips_on_how_to_prevent_ogre_wars_foulbear_kraal/In my own current experience, when it is bugged, there is a possibility of 2 different situations:1) In Hunter's Gorge (the area where the war takes place) you will find an invincable Legionaire Slashclaw fighting of Ogres that attack him endlessly, forever. You will also find Vanguard Scout Finley, 2 Ebon Vanguard Warriors and 1 Ebon Vanguard Soldier nearby, standing around, doing nothing. The Event text sais: " Ogre Wars. Charr and Vanguard forces are assaulting Foulbear Kraal and its leaders"2) Same situation, exept no Legionaire Slashclaw this time, just Finley and his buddies. I think it is the same Event text, will double check. COuld be that is sais something like " Vanguard forces are assaulting......" since the charr Slashclaw is not present, representing the Char side of the attack. In any case, at some point, one of these assault events are not finished I think, bugging the event? Is there a way to check if this happens when nobody kills the Foulbear Weapon Master, or maybe the Foulbear Master Trainer after that? It is a pity since this is a popular event that still attracts a lot of people due to the chance on a high prized item(Sam). It is also several Dynamic Events in quick succession which means loot, XP and a nice way to level up lower characters too. Anet is big on keeping old content(and zones) in the loop and this event makes Field of Ruin one of the go to destinations of the game. I hope Anet will find the time to implement some sort of fix. Maybe just reset the whole sequence every hour if certain bugged conditions are met: like Slashclaw and/or Scout Finley being in the same location for an hour. That would already solve 99% of bugged events, I think. NB: Often there are people afk-ing for a while in Hunter's Gorge, waiting for the event. I feel that this is part of the reason why the zone has a hard time resetting itself when it is bugged(assuming that a zone restarts fresh when it has been completely abandoned first and then someone enters it. Not even sure if it works this way). Very seldomly have I returned after half a day to find the zone OK again. More often the zone stays bugged untill server reset at night (or whenever that takes place)
  11. HoT maps certainly have grown on me too. At first they were daunting, especially since you had to unlock Gliding and mushroom skills. But now, with Mounts, they are simply the best. Mounts are such a great addition: I can not even imagine anymore that before PoF we were hoofing it all the time.
  12. I wonder about this. If this is true, then that would certainly increase the replay value of this feature. You will always find people doing the Ogre Wars events in Fields of Ruin, because there is this minute chance of the boss dropping Sam, a 300+ gold TP item needed for the Treasure Hunter collection. I have proposed adding another Treasure Hunter type collection to PoF: the Bounty System seems like a good way to implement that. So I hope you are right. But shouldn't we have heard something about that right now from a lucky player?
  13. Mounts are great, they are all I hoped them to be. My suggestions on Mounts would be to make it so that you instantly switch from one mount to another by pushing the appropriate button, without having to dismount first. If you think that this is too powerful during combat, you could disable that in combat and just let people dismount instead of switch when in combat. Also, Bunny could use a bit better control because positioning is so important with it. I feel the start-up acceleration of mounts is at fault here: for the bunny this means that moving tiny amounts is almost impossible. Either you hardly move, or you overshoot. For other Mounts this is not really a problem. The maps are beautiful and varied. Actually much more diverse then the HoT maps. But they really could use some Meta events next to all the cool stuff that is already there. I feel Mounts are fast enough to cover the maps quickly without needing too many waypoints. However, this could become more of a problem if Meta events were to be implemented. I think Meta events will keep the zones better populated which would also be a win for people who are not so much into Meta events.
  14. Heroes/Henchmen for Fractals and Dungeons only. Not necessarily so that I can do (farm?) these alone but because of the wonderful meta-game of mixing and matching Heroes and their Builds to an optimum. Probably a huge headache and a humongous amount of work for the devs, since GW2 was not built with this in mind, then again, players let those skills and abilities work together also so why not? I wonder if GW1 was built with Henchmen and Heroes in mind. I know the Heroes came in a later expansion, not sure about the Henchmen though. I want to add that I think the expansions are already nailing the most important thing for me: more areas to explore, more Lore and Lands to wander in, more Dynamic Events and more loot. So I am pretty happy to start with. :)
  15. You are going for the Puss in Boots look, are you? :) Edit: funny how the forumfilter changed the actual name into Kitten. Had to change the name of the jpg on my webspace too off course. :)
