  1. Jormag still bugged, Dragon's Stand today was bugged too, seemed to work 2 days ago. We are going backwards with this bug!
  2. I do not like PvP, WvW, Raids or Strike Missions. No thanks to being a lemming and/or getting yelled at when I am standing in the wrong circle. Yet they are in the game nonetheless. To each their own, and I think there would be a good chunk of players that would enjoy housing, and willing to sink many hours, mats and also Gems into it. If GW2 will keep alive (and I think it will) then I am sure we will see housing some day. But I admit that it is an elaborate feature that would take a serious investment to do right. So some day, fingers crossed. The Henchmen are probably a pipe dream, and would require a huge investment from Anets part with little return for them. So I am guessing no on that one. Was a typical GW1 thing that is much less needed in GW2, with their huge and pretty easy open world content. Still, they could have done a much better job with the NPC's that are supposed to help you out at Dragon response missions. They touted that as a feature where "faction NPC's would stand by your side", but they suck so hard it's not funny anymore. I lose them in the first minute and can not be bothered to rez them afterwards.
  3. Not buying. I left when EoD was released because I was disappointed that no new game systems were introduced, like player housing or Henchmen. New expansion is just more of the same, and some reworking of existing features, again no new game systems so I guess I will have to wait a little longer. Still not sure why they will not introduce player housing, seems like the ultimate fit for the way Anet monetizes a MMO. As for Henchmen, seeing how they keep pushing Strike Missions, I guess we will never see such a solo-oriented feature.
  4. Griffon and Skyscale Quest are the best, Already completed them on 7 accounts. I love playing in the open world and these quests give you a great reason to revisit zones, do some jumping puzzles, team up for some Bosses, gather stuff. I hope they will never change them. There is a lot of stuff I can not do either in this game and that's fine. At least the OP did not ask to nerf the quest or something. 🙂
  5. She will probably magically fuse with the last Dragon when she dies and thus live on forever, in a way. I would be surprised if they would not cushion the blow of her death in some way. Or give it some sort of extra meaning. They couldn't let Aurene die, they are not going to just let Taimi go with a puff of smoke. I do not see them do a repeat of the Eir Stegalkin funeral wake, even though that was pretty cool (and brave from Anet).
  6. For me EoD initiated another long period of not playing GW2. My third since the game got released. I was so underwhelmed by the features they pre-showed us, that my hype level was down to zero. Then Lost Ark released at the same time, and I was pleasantly surprised by that game (not better then GW2, just very different) so I have been playing that fanatically up until 3 weeks ago. And now, after reading peoples opinions and threads about EoD my expectations have gone below zero, and I actually dread starting up the game again, having to slog through uninteresting Mastery lines, unlock zones that seem to be devoid of NPC hustle and bustle and Adventures, and having to do that terribly uninspired Fishing mini-game. What I have seen of the first zone certainly did not wow me either when it comes to Beauty. I might try to start again with the LW1 story but I prefer to do that once all the episodes are there. So I guess I am on a MMO hiatus for now, which is ok. 🙂 Oh, and I am eagerly awaiting the announcement of the next Xpac features (a year or so from now is my guess) of which I am convinced, HOUSING, will be a part of!!! When that happens, my love for GW2 will be rekindled, and I will be willing to slog through the MMO-pablum that is EoD.
  7. Ok, make that "I think people are being too harsh on the OP's opinion". 🙂
  8. I think people are being too harsh on the OP. The arguments that Anet gives are somewhat valid in themselves but I do not think they are being quit honest about the most important reasons behind the TP: the very consistent money sink and 10x less Customer Service requests from players that feel they have been treated unfairly during the trade. Like "I thought I had a good deal but then I found out I did not because apparently this item sells for 10 copper average instead of 5 gold". Even so I think that player to player trade could help a bit with the social aspect of the game, which is somewhat lacking anyway (as with most MMO's). Bartering, talking to a person, actually knowing the name from whom you bought something. I liked the dedicated trade channel in Everquest. The TP in GW2 is a cold-hearted trade-partner.
  9. Hey, you are ruining my Celestial money-making scheme! Good thing 90% of players do not read the forums. 🙂
  10. Everquest forever! Started my MMO career the day that Everquest released('99), having decided to pass on Ultima Online because of the reviews I had read about its toxic PvP environment. I only truly abandoned Everquest about 6 years ago. I pretty much tried about every MMO that released since EQ but never played anything more then a few days/weeks/months.
  11. I think the Home Portal Stone promo is overdue, last time it was offered was January 1st 2021, which is now 16 months ago. Before that the interval was 9 months, 3 months, 9 months, 12 months, 11 months. I would like to see it return with a 40% discount (as it was the last 5 times). 🙂
  12. Well said, couldn't agree more. I am pretty happy the way Anet does this. I agree with a previous poster that I would like to see adventures and griffon rides added to old maps, but I am of the "I like to revisit old Maps"kind. 🙂
  13. In my day we had to do it WITHOUT the "Return to" achievement which now literally throws all the needed zone currency right in your hands. Kids these days.
  14. Agreed. I have 6 Legendary weapons and 3 Legendary trinkets and they have been my most important reason to play for the last few years. Even though I buy most of the mats that are needed, it is the collections and zone currencies that make me revisit all kinds of zones, even some fractals and WvW. Definitely a motivator for me. This is also why I liked getting the Skyscale.
  15. The house should be instanced, and accessible through a door in some of the existing real estate across the world. Lots and lots of different choices, all over the world. Different houses should have different prices. Like using a door in Wizards Fief would get you a small house/apartment, but using the door in one of the bigger houses in Lions Arch would get you a villa. This would mean people could choose their spot in the world to be the access point to their house. House should be fully customizable: furniture but also finishings. Preferably the floorplan too but that is probably asking too much. At least let us pick from several floorplans per piece of real estate (price accordingly), A garden should go with the larger more expensive instances. Would be cool if we could truly build stuff there and thus build a jumping puzzle for instance. I think Anet can do it, but it would be expensive and a game within a game. Most importantly: the Housing system should provide a huge boost to Loot and Rewards in the game, apart from stuff that you can buy in the store. Recipes, materials, keys to certain rooms, parts of furniture, entire pieces of (small) furniture, wall papers and so forth should be seeded on to Monsters and Bossess. Some of it should be bind on pickup, some of it should be sellable. The cheap and currently redundant lower tier trade mats should be used in lots of recipes, that need a lot of these. Bosses should drop nice no-drop recipes for cool pieces of furniture, some of them common, some of the very rare. I would even prefer to have some bosses have known (rare) drops. This would give me motivation to do more open world stuff on a regular basis, if I knew I might get a good reward. Collections could come into play, an d off course store bought stuff so Anet can make a buck. Also definitely the possibility to show off trophies. And we should be able to visit eachothers houses, off course through a permit system, see any other MMO who already did this (20) years ago. Housing loot could be the much needed boost to the Reward system that GW2 needs, imo. Right now, it is ultra rare infusions (that I do not care about), something for an achievement(ok, but getting old) or Gold(in the form of stuff that in itself nobody cares about). Since having a nice, expensive house is not effecting the powercurve of a Character or Class, I think it should fit well into Anets vision about horizontal progression. I do not think the House should give any (combat) bonuses to Characters, nor Inventory space, or tradeskill benches. Let us keep that in the Public Space.
  16. Here I was thinking Anet would resolve all the issues that casuals had with Strike Missions by offering tiered options or something. Instead they add even more hardcore missions, that roadblocks (advertized) "premium" features of the Expansion to boot. Way to go Anet! It is obvious that they are still going for the "we WILL learn casuals how to do strikes, we WILL make them like them and we WILL make them ready for Raids somehow. Not going to happen. It's like trying to get people to do PvP if they are not into that. You will get the occasional player who discovers that they actually like the competing in PvP or some that will rise to the challenge of hard group content and start to embrace it, but most will not. I wonder how long (how many expansions?) it will take Anet to realize that they can not really change peoples gaming taste.
  17. I will wait with playing this expansion until I am burned out on Lost Ark. By then the kinks in EoD will have been ironed out, hard content will have been nerfed and I can breeze my way through it, the way I like it. Also, I was never much of a Fashionmonger, but I am definitely becoming more appreciative of the fantastic cosmetic options that GW2 has for skins, Outfits and dyeing, after the scarcity of options in LA. So as much fun as I am having in that game, it will wet my appetite for some serious GW2 later on.
  18. I was kinda bummed to see how few players I saw in Eye of the North, where you start your EoD story. I remember more bustle in that zone after every Icebrood Episode release. I do not think there is any hype about this release, not that people were saying that there was. Queues for GW2, that's a funny joke indeed. 🙂
  19. I very much agree with you. When Ultima Online first came out and shortly after, Everquest in '99, I was thrilled by the aspect of lots of real people playing in the same Fantasyworld as you. I never once thought of "groups" or "grouping" or Raids, or even Guilds then. That only became a thing once the whole "race to the top(level)" had established itself into MMO's, which was pretty soon after the first releases, I'll admit. In a group in Everquest you would be way "ahead of the the curve" if you grouped up. Ever since then I felt I had to "defend" the fact that I could enjoy a MMO without frantic group-play, and just enjoyed encountering people in my favorite Fantasy world. Maybe people figured that a MMO was an extension of playing D&D at the dinnertable, which was very much a group activity off course.
  20. The "good drops" part is the biggest problem of your request, I am afraid. GW2 has no good drops, unless you consider ultra rare cosmetics a good drop. All the rest is just gold(value).
  21. Does this complaint concern PvP or PvE? Or both? If mostly for PvP(my guess, looking at the "style" of the post) then I *SO* wish these threads would be made in the PvP forums instead of General.
  22. For LW 3,4 and 5 destinations I use the Scrolls off course. If I want to waypoint somewhere in Tyria or HoT, I always check my Maguuma and World Boss portal devices to see if anything is up that will waypoint me closer (or even right to my destination). Makes me feel good about these devices and saves me quit a bit of silver since I hop around a lot. Also use the Crystal Oasis Home pass and Spearmarshall's Plea to get to the Crystal Desert. And if I am feeling really cheap, and need to go to Lions Arch, I go through the PvP lobby. 🙂 Also using The Invitation to the Party device when a festival is up. I am sure I will break even on the gems vs silver ratio somewhere in 2042 😀
