  1. Sounds like a skill issue. No seriously, if you don't have the masteries like gliding and ley-line gliding, HoT maps were designed to be a inconvenience because remember, people complained that the core game was too easy. HoT definitely ramps up the difficulty, but in this day and age, you have access to mounts and other goodies in masteries which make the experience in HoT maps much more enjoyable than it was on release. I still remember how cute pocket raptors are only to be insta-killed by them. Also the frustration in 2015 was out of this world. But as you progress through your masteries (taking that you don't have most masteries), it gets easier tenfold.
  2. I'd implement vanquishing as instanced solo/duo content. Gosh I miss vanquishing from GW1. 😞
  3. And I will definitely refrain myself from making another topic like this ever again, as I'll promise to put more work into checking beforehand whether the things I want to complain about pre-existed in the lore or not, 100% my own fault ❤️
  4. I really over-exaggerated the extent this topic was about 😄 I legit found out that Plush minis exsist in the world and thus, they're absolutely canon, as all other things are. This one is absolutely on me 😄
  5. Okay what the heck, I looked at this one, and my feelings were absolutely the opposite to the ones that I had with Griffon. Plush Raptor looks sooooooooooooooooooo cute!
  6. That's the most embarrassing part - I haven't missed Wintersday in ages lol, WD is my jam (JP mostly), haven't run around the other festivities or haven't just paid attention to details 😄
  7. That actually reassured quite a bit - I legit thought the Plush Griffon was released lately (absolutely my fault for not taking the time to actually google when was it released) and when I looked at it, it kind of looked like a cash grab. I can, however, get behind the idea they're Asura golems with camouflage!
  8. I am absolutely unfamiliar with this item and now I feel like an absolute kitten.
  9. Hello, dear community of Guild Wars 2. I've never been the type of writing a forum post about something trivial to rant about, but this time, I feel like I have to 'vent' a bit. Logged in about 30 minutes ago, opened up the gem store to look at skins and behold: plush griffon skin. Now, I've never been the most 'immersive' type of a player, but the plush skin line is, for my taste, a bit too much. I mean, I'm not the most immersion seeking type, but I do love a little amount of it, some of the skins fit Guild Wars 2 lore very well, while the others not so much. Looking at the Plush Griffon, it honestly feels like a second-hand easy cash grab that was developed by a greedy eastern developer *cough* Gamigo *cough*. Something about that skin rocked my boat to the extent I had to make a forum post about it - I cannot be the only one that feels like it, can I? Plus the price of 1280 gems (20% off right now) with a regular price of 1600 gems. I can just ignore it, I know it fully well, but something about it grinded my gears. 😞 Maybe the fact I'm expecting more from Anet? Maybe the fact that I'm desperately hoping they won't turn into a greedy company that will pop out a whole batch of half-assed skins and call it a day? Maybe I truly and wholeheartedly believe that this is not the absolute best what Anet has to offer... I fully understand that it's such a trivial thing to complain about, but I just had to voice my small opinion about it - Plush skins do not fit into Guild Wars 2 as they feel cheap. I'm sorry for spamming the forum with a topic like this.
  10. Today I learned there's a filter LOL. After 1.6k hours.... Thank you so much!
  11. Oh, 76? Then I must have missed a kitten-ton of them. Thanks for the feedback!
  12. Hello! I'm a bit confused about IBS mastery points, they feel very limited. I've done all the insights, most of the Drizzlewood Coast meta ones and I'm still 18 points short of Mastery Points. Is there an easier way to obtain said mastery points or are IBS mastery points a real grind? Thanks!
  13. Can the commander carry a zucchini? WvW in SFR answers that question.
  14. Doubt we're ever going to get GW3. If we do, it's probably 10+ years away from now. Arenanet has always had quite a different approach to marketing its games and to be absolutely fair - it's the worst by far in the Big Five. I REALLY and TRULY hope that Anet hires proper marketing people to actually market the great things that Guild Wars 2 has to offer! 🙂
  15. I'm sorry you feel this way. However, on the topic of you dying to the bosses in story modes, would you be kind enough to let us know what profession and build you're using? I had similar problems way back when I mained elementalist (vanilla), but after switching to Weaver, I could solo everything pretty comfortably. And after switching to necro (GS reaper at that time), all the story bosses were a breeze.
  16. Maybe that was my embellished way of describing my eternal love for the game and its community? 😃
  17. I love this game. I love the community. Nearly every person I've met in this game has been helpful, kind, friendly and generally nice. This is just an appreciation thread about Guild Wars 2. You're all awesome and I'm so quaggan happy to be a part of this community. I left Guild Wars 2 after PoF launched, I completed the main story and that was the end for me. Certain other MMO got me hooked for a while, but there was something about the mounts that just didn't click with me. Then Covid happened. Started playing another MMO with beautiful scenery and great gameplay, but something was eztremely odd about the LFG system. Fast forward to 2021 Q4, another MMO launched... Had a blast for 100h, but the questing system and the crafting system wasn't quite what I expected it to be. Then it dawned on me... Everything I've EVER wanted from an MMO has been under my nose since I first created my account in Guild Wars 2 back in 2014. This game, for me personally, is the pinnacle of MMOs. As a pretty casual player (playing a few hours per day), Guild Wars 2 does not force me into gear score runs, it doesn't leave me with the thought of "quaggan me, I'm WAY behind my friends and can never play end game content with them". I sincerely want to thank you, Anet. I sincerely want to thank you, Guild Wars 2 community, for being as awesome, kind and sweet as you have been, are, and I hope, continue to be. ❤️
  18. Mordremoth or Zhaitan set. I have a thing for greatswords specifically and will probably make a greatsword first.
  19. While I agree on Anet's marketing being a bit odd, I do reject the point that Anet "needs" to promise us a new expansion. Anet doesn't have to promise us anything. Fourth expansion comes down to EoD sales. If EoD fails then I doubt they will have an expansion for a long time. They would most likely fix the problems with EoD and future Living World seasons rather than just push out an half assed expansion. All of your mentioned content actually sounds enticing and exciting for myself personally, so without your proof, please refrain yourself from using plurals and speaking on behalf of other people. Thank you for your long insight of your "personal problems" with Guild Wars 2 though.
  20. Hello, people of Guild Wars 2! Legion of Defiance is looking for new and active members! About LoD Legion of Defiance's roots go back to Guild Wars 1 where me and a couple of friends wanted to have a place where everyone would feel welcome. Thus, Legion of Defiance (LoD for short) came into existence. My vision for Legion of Defiance in Guild Wars 2 is to have friendly and active people helping newcomers. Let it be dungeons, fractals or raids. Or even PvP, though mostly we're a PvE focused guild. Focused on helping other people. Focused on social interactions, making friends and having fun. Since EoD is launching soon (hopefully), it will bring in new players (also hopefully) and we all know that Guild Wars 2, at the start, can be very overwhelming. Why am I trying to build such a guild that just helps people? I believe that helping each other out is the integral part of this community and I would like to spread it even more. Current state of Legion of Defiance in Guild Wars 2 Right now, we're at six members. Our guild level is at level 12. I just finished setting up a categorized Discord server (and imo it looks kick-kitten 😉 ) I am very much looking for people who need help in Guild Wars 2 and who LOVE helping other people. Thank you for reading!
  21. I feel like you're over-exaggerating about GW2 being not-so-friendly to new players. Let me clarify, while I agree with your point that endgame PvE is a bit more difficult, I wouldn't say it's neckbreaking. New players have the whole F2P core game to play until they reach the more difficult parts of the PvE, thus making the learning a lot more smooth than some other MMOs. I've had so many friends recently who picked up GW2 mostly because I needed someone to play with, but even if I'm not around in game, there's a lot more helpful people to help new players out whatever the questions they might have. I feel like Anet did this on purpose, which has really grown into a prosperous and friendly community (talking about PvE content, PvP and WvW sucks). I agree with everything you said about PvP though, that's why I've never touched it and never will. Cba to get yelled by a kid after a long day of work because I don't have the exact armor equipped with the best stats.
  22. I listen to AI static loops just to be amazed by the level of detail the game has, even after 1k hours.
  23. I still love playing with the gs reaper. Feels so fleshed out and nice :D
