  1. Absolutely horrendous and beyond frustrating in PvP. less than 12k hp with zerk runes and no sustain. The added mobility ends up getting wasted trying to escape battle rather than stick on a target. The spec seems like it was thrown together last minute and is borderline comical. Can't think of one aspect of the spec that is actually fun in PvP.

  3. I am also experiencing very high latency making the game unplayable. I have never had any problems in the past (stable ping <50) but the last few days it is all over the place (consistent spikes to 1000+). My internet connection seems fine from what I can see.
  4. I agree with op - I think placements are a little silly too. Start everyone in the middle and fire it off. No questions of hidden mmr or alleged detrimental gains/losses during the ten placement matches. Everyone starts equal and moves from there.
  5. Hammer is high skill cap and hard to master; one can not just 'drop the hammer'. Simply trying it out will leave most players discouraged. As a result, posts like this pop up. The truth of the matter is, if played correctly, hammer can be competitive. However, because it does not net instant meta defining results it is cast to the wayside.
  6. I play power core medi guard in wvw (hammer - sword/shield). It is very strong at roaming and a good duelist. In zerg play, meta be damned, it's not rare for me to top dmg in a 30+ man raid. Glacial blow offers strong spike dmg and it generates downs. I like hammer and I make it work. No gripes on my part.
  7. I also think it should reveal enemies in stealth but, I also realize that this might be a little over kill. However, it would be cool if it revealed traps.
  8. I really like this idea. To spitball off of it, maybe add a trait in one of the wvw mastery lines that makes food/banners dropped harmful to enemy players if consumed/interacted. Even just a 2 minute debuff would be interesting.
  9. It's hilarious when I get a bm toxic whisper. I'm usually only upset when I can't whisper them back because they have blocked me :'(
  10. Having played Tera, I wholeheartedly agree with this. Not being able to bind dodge to right click is the only reason I do not use the action camera mode.
  11. I don't hate the skin - I bought it. However, it reminded me of something . If anyone has seen the live action ninja turtle movie from the 90s, you will know what I'm talking about. Warclaw? more like Rahzar.
  12. Keep downstate and implement a party damage debuff that scales with how big the party is. Why should a larger group be able to dish out more damage; it's unfair to the outnumbered party.
  13. Being outnumbered in and of itself is unfair. You are implying that an outnumbered situation is fair and that downsate is somehow why it is becomes unfair. As mentioned before, the 'benefit' is seemingly only superficial.
  14. Precisely because, the more targets that stack for a Rez, the more targets become susceptible to cleave damage because they have to bunch together. Like I said earlier, this is what makes 1v8’s on reaper possible, which I have repeatedly been successful at accomplishing. The same applies in the opposing direction. The more players I have that can cleave enemy downstates the more advantageous it is for my numbers to dominate theirs...especially when they ball up for a resurrection. This assumes that everyone is just going to stand there to eat your AoE so the "given equal skill" part doesn't apply here, even having a down that doesn't get rezzed but keeps attacking you is an advantage in pure damage. You tell me that "the more cleave i have the better i can deal with it", but downstate not being there at all would mean those players would just die. If they are as smart as you are, it benefits them more, why do poeple think outskilling it even though it is unfair means it is balanced? Lets say you have 2 GvG guilds, 1 has 6 poeple and the other 10, they are of equal skill, whom is benefited by downstate more? Benefit is a strong word. More players to Rez also means more potential targets that can receive cleaving damage that result in more deaths. The argument that it benefits the side with more people is subjective and superficial at best. So given equal skill you say that the larger group can't capitalise on it more? Downstate is a double edged sword; depending on the situation it can have just as many 'drawbacks' as it does 'benifits'. Like I said, it's an element that adds depth to the combat system and opens the door for some exciting fights. That depends on playerskill, not the mechanic itself or balance.Exaclty. Downstate is the common denominator - it's universal to every player. It's not a matter of being unbalanced because, everyone has it. The mechanic is not unfair - the situation you were in was (1V2)

  16. To the OP, Downstate is a mechanic that enhances and encourages party play. In fact, it really has zero benefits for a solo roamer except for the occasional rally when an NPC or enemy player is finished. It's main purpose is to allow a teammate to rally you back into combat. How it works is no mystery: more allies = more people to 'f' on downstate. So inherently, the group with larger numbers benefits more. It adds further depth into the combat system and if you can't look back or think of any instances where downstate made for a more interesting and exciting skirmish than I don't know what to tell you - your missing out.

  18. They didn't bother to post a picture of the Guildrider Skin because, I'm sure it just the Outrider with a guild flag or banner hanging off of it. I hope I am wrong. Edit: Also, depending on the price, a lot of people might end buying gems to currency exchange for the gold to unlock the track. Here's to hoping it's a reasonable price.
  19. I play hammer core guard in WvW and I don't feel handicapped. Some fights might be a little more tedious than others but, I don't ever walk into a fight expecting to lose - if I do, I commend that player. I rotate my cd's fairly well and fights are usually fairly competitive. As far as being one-shotted, I don't think I've ever been 100-0 without being able to defend myself. If I have, it is so incredibly rare - I probably laughed and shrugged it off while making a snide remark. Perhaps, a few profession/builds/classes/who gives fuck require more user input and awareness than others and this is where the balance issue originates from. Some games have a skill level rating when choosing profession, class, etc... What if anet implemented a system like this? I'm not trying to discredit anyone, but what would happen if: classes that seem to get bullied, considered under-powered, or have deficiencies were labeled/ranked as 'skill level: high' or 'play-style: hard' ? This would nip balance right in the butt if the player was made aware beforehand 'your going to have to really try hard and work your ass off.' edit: I like to proofread after I submit :)
