  1. The elemental Celerity change is just weird, and wording is confusing to me. Normally it reduces the recharge of WEAPON skills by 100%. So, hypothetically if you have a weapon skill that has a 16 sec cd on it, then as soon as you pop elem celerity, that weapon skill and other skills on the active weapon bar instantly come off the cd. Now, you say that the recharge will be to 25 secs??? ok, what if all my weapon skills are less than 25 secs? then what? Are you trying to say that the reduction will be 25%? If this is the case, that is a very underwhelming elite skill of the new elite spec. Who is in charge over there? Is there actual reason behind these inept attempts at balance? I'm sorry, I just don't understand the wording, I guess.
  2. I have noticed quite a few new players in WvW lately, and there are some complaints coming out about current systems and designs, which is natural. It's just that the newer players don't understand that what we have now is this deformed version of the game, that was never part of the original WvW design. Some part work, some parts are broke. In my opinion, they need to go back and take a very hard look at what the game was at launch and through the first year and think really, really hard about that. @Duke Nukem.6783 Are you sure that your server can capture SMC? Because mostly what I see is server farming SMC by roamers eating up the small groups trying to take it and the larger groups getting eaten by other larger groups for the big bag feeds.
  3. I agree with OP. I would happily sell you mine if I could as I'm sure other wvw players would. Then I buy my legendary weapons and I never go to that boring face roll fest PVE. Everyone is a winner :).
  4. I didn't say that they didn't like pvp I said, " particularly care". Just because they have in the past put resources to pvp, doesn't mean that they will continue in the future. It is speculation what I said, but either way the fact is that Thrones and Liberty doesn't have a dedicated pvp mode such as battlegrounds wvw or spvp types, so they have moved away from it for this upcoming game. My speculation stands and you don't have to agree with it, I really don't care.
  5. It told me a lot to when I did some DD on the company. It was actually a relief to me to be honest. Now we know why not much attention to wvw because funding has been going to new game and we know that ncsoft doesn't particularly care for pvp or there would be more emphasis on the game mode in the new one. It also is interesting that they chose amazon as the NA provider of the new game. queue the taps trumpet, rip Anet.
  6. NCSoft is not going to sending much funding to Anet anymore on account of Thrones and Liberty coming release. It's going to be their primary MMO. (TL does not have a dedicated Pvp mode btw, just random events the pop up and people can opt out of the open world pvp events). So, if you think that we were on the pay no mind list before, it is about to get taken to a whole new level.
  7. This company has demoralized its own player base. WvW is dead most of the time. GG. They DO NOT CARE for WvW. Plain and simple. This is all it is, and it will never get any better.

  9. Yes, there is too much CC, but only because of what they did with stability. CC was fine before the new stack system was put in. They never seem to use foresight to look at issues, really shows immaturity on the company's part. It all ties back to the boon problem. Either give everyone access to the stab and other boons or nerf them back to basically temporary buffs which is what they were supposed to be. Stab stacking and might were always a thing, but this whole new, we can stack everything and never die, is just ridiculous. As I have said before......Too much big boon make to hard to die, no fun.
  10. Speaking from WvW, Pvp perspective. # 1) I was flipping frogs other day and a krait dodged my fireball (fire staff 1). Now, I know there are other weapons to use, but I just used this as an example to show how slow the speed is. So, I was thinking maybe we should speed up the fireball some. I mean, if a krait can dodge it, something is wrong, just my opinion of course. #2) Meteor Shower (fire staff 5) only 3 targets? Really? Just doesn't sound much like a shower, more of a meteor sprinkle. Look, if we are going to stick with the boon ball zerg, I really don't see the harm of buffing the target cap to 5. It is already on a channel cast which you can't move and takes 3 1/4 seconds to cast. Just seems a bit too much nerfed. If we are going to keep the boon ball then please let us have some AoE back. #3) Shock wave. (Earth staff 5) Ok, so, here is the problem with it. In theory, it is wonderful, but in practicality it isn't. It is a 3/4 second cast and the speed of it is so slow that landing one pretty much means that the target needs to already be standing still. I dare you to test it, just have somebody at almost max distance and if they are moving left of right just a little, it doesn't land on account of how slow the speed of it is. So, could these possibly be fixed or changed to be more practical for wvw, pvp purposes?
  11. Harbinger IS OP, BUT so is Wilbender, Catalyst and Untamed and that are just the new E specs, there are a lot of broken builds in WvW that nobody cares about at all. Either that, or they are just unaware, but I would be surprised if the balance team were that slow on the uptake. But, the boons have been off the chain for a while, and nothing has been done to help that. I would say it is safe to say," WvW is not a mode that is a priority", not even close.
  12. I was referring to Mag the server, not MAG the guild. I don't give 2 squirts about MAG the guild and is completely off my point. Using Mag as an example is the perfect way to describe how a particular server community has come up with its own way of fight and social community and your response just proves my point of the importance of community by your own words. Thank you, not sure if it was intentional though. lol

I don't care if they put them in or not, I just don't think they will do it based on the fact of server community will suffer, but I have to admit, I haven't seen all that much of server community in a long time. But, there will be some that will not accept the current iteration of alliances based off the beta we have experienced and from what I have heard from players while playing it. Here is an example of what I'm referring to. Let's just say there is a server that has a certain way of playing like Mag for example, and they have kind of trained everyone to sort of play the same way on the server and you can count on that kind of reliability from that particular server, you know what to expect when you play for Mag or against Mag. You absolutely destroy that when bring in alliances because a large part of those alliances will not run same builds or use the same tactics, and this goes for every server that kind of has their own way about them. Now, on one side of the coin, that is great, especially if you have a dead server that just doesn't know what they are doing, then great, win win on the alliances, but if you are one of the servers that has their own way, then not so good. I think for a lot of elitest guilds it doesn't matter because they just think about the fights and pick and choose those, but for the other 75% of the population <----Just a guess) it kind of matters where you are because there is a sense of comfort within the community as well as established social communications. So, I do think it will have a negative impact down the road, but this is just my opinion, and you know what they say about those 🙂 On the other hand, servers tend to be at an all-time low right now, so, maybe it's time to roll the dice and bring them on 🙂
  15. They will never do it, put in alliances that is. They know that if they do it, it kills the very last thing that WvW has and that is server pride and wvw community. When that is gone you can start a time clock on how long it will take for wvw to just be a ghost town with a few of us hard cores running around. But, if they added some incredible rewards and maybe a new map, it might keep it going. Wasted resources? lol. You make it sound like they had to cut down a forest of trees or import some steel from Japan or something...lol. It is a bunch of nerds pushing keys on a PC. What else are they going to do with their time? Get Starbucks and tell everyone what they did on the weekend as they relax from a stressful day of designing new fashion in game. Wasted resources...LOL. Thank you, sir, you made my day. 🙂

  17. Had a couple of fights yesterday, one was a smallish group 10ish, the other was a blob 50ish. There weren't enough strips available, both groups had perma boons rolling and couldn't be killed even with focused attacks. I hoped on my necro and threw every strip I could on them, but it just wasn't enough. They would not die. Lots of others couldn't kill them either. We even had a tag, we just weren't running the optimal comp that everyone is forced to run if they want to kill these groups. It wasn't fun for us and it wasn't even fun for them, they had someone log over and ask to fight another organized guild group, there wasn't one. It is NOT FUN in its current state, that if the only way to get a decent fight is if you have to fight another group running pretty much the exact same builds and THEN do it over and over again. Btw, everyone quit playing. Our tag fell to a skeleton amount, the other side just pvd a couple of keeps and left. There is a problem. The boons are in hard carry mode right now with limited counterplay options. Plain and simple. Boons are a problem right now. Either give everyone boons so that everyone can run their favorite builds in invincible mode or buff the strips and tell the boon babies that it is time to grow up and deal with not having them every second of a combat engagement. Sorry but enough is enough, boons in the current state are not good for the game and horrible for new players.

  19. Its bugged, I ran +73% concentration and I still only received 3 secs resilience per roll in wvw.
  20. So, I get 4 secs of it after roll, in open world but only 3 in wvw. According to GW2 wiki Resilient Roll - Guild Wars 2 Wiki (GW2W) in PVE/WVW have the same application, so why the difference of durations? I have made sure that everything is the same, build, concentration % food, I can't seem to reach 4 secs of resil in WvW. Anyone know why?
  21. It is true that support carries groups, the proof is the first 10 secs without a huge stack of boons and they are dead. I'm pretty sure that there isn't going to be a move away from boons but as it is right now, you can't play very many builds and be in a competitive or even just a casual state because the classes and comps that can stack them up and run perma boons and just ROFLSTOMPing everyone else. It just doesn't feel very good. Sure, we all I'm sure play one of those comps at least on one or two characters but after a while it gets boring because there isn't much diversity in the boon meta. From the other side of the coin, if you are fighting and you don't feel like playing the boon meta comp then you are just out of luck, because you are going to be dead without them and the boon removal classes have been gutted down. There IS a balance problem here and the new players are complaining about dying, they don't even know that they aren't going to kill the small group or mid-size group because guess what, that other group is stacked up with perma boons, and one necro can't rip them all off fast enough to even compete with them. It shouldn't be for PVP competitive games, perma boons = win. That is fine for PVE, sure, bang away at the npc all day and night with perma everything, who cares, but boons need to be more interactive and put on longer CDs to make them less face roll in competitive play or buff boon removal. We all know how this happened too, the meta was made but it had Scourge and Spellbreakers to counter it, but then guess what, NERFS cause zerglets couldn't live without them. Ever since then the boon meta train has been off the tracks crushing everyone in its path. Not good. Please fix this problem.
  22. Big boons breaking the game. To many big boons. Must do something anet. Big boon no work. Make too much hard to die. Big boon no make sense. Make access for everyone or buff boon removal classes. Big boons make game bad. Big boons bad. Big boons bad. Please make big boons go away. Make more classes happy again. So many unhappy big boons. Fix like broke tire, make roll again. Fix Big boons please.
  23. Boon in their current state make players to hard to kill. Must run very small selection of other builds to compete. This kills build diversity and limits player choice. Players get tired of playing same old build, can't switch to new builds cause not part of other very small build list that compete against easy boon access comps. Player gets tired, frustrated and bored of playing because of this. Player leaves not happy and disgruntled. Not good business model. Not enough boon removal either. Company nerfs hard builds that counter very selective easy access boon model. Make problem worse. Still very small selection of build diversity if want to compete and not die. Not sure everyone at company understands. Big boons mean very hard to die. Make new players and players who want to play other builds not viable to compete. I think we can all agree to some degree, there IS a problem with the boons.
