At 14 you can buy your first green armor/weapon at TP. (1-2s each) Range weapons should make button-overload easier. Before you go to a lvl 16-25 area (Brisbane or Kessex from Caledon), have a visit in one or two of the other four 1-15 areas, you should have the starter WP in each.

Hm, good reasons to die during leveling: You did not watched the monster level (e.g. faced Lvl 15 mobs with Lvl 10)Your equipment is much lower level than youbut I’m not aware that rev was a difficult class. Sword-3 is a bit unfocussed you may engage to many enemies. I've used hammer instead of staff to have a range weapon as well.

Maybe a newbie that want to upgrade its Lvl 5 weapon to lvl 10? Simply buy a new weapon of your dreams in the Trade Post! That’s not only easier, it’s also much cheaper! Crafting isn’t relevant before you are 80 and want to switch your exotic gear to ascended/legendary.

No doubt, you can experience it as a grind-fest for masteries, that happens if you aren't interested in playing the game, but just want to have the masteries.On the other side, you can play all the event-series and meta-events the HoT maps offers you, and you will never have a problem with the XP, it just comes faster, than your able to acquire mastery points. It's all in your mind! If you experience whole GW2 as grind you likely have no interest in playing GW2. But why do you grind it, if you don't want to play it?

Winning is meaningless in a 24/7 game mode that has 90% of the time (and therefore score) only a handful people on map. It's only a reward for bandwaggoning, and that's the last I want to reward,.

If you want large scale battle go to WvW. (I k now it's likely not like you want to have it, but who say that city-invasions will behave different, than SM attacks?) If you want to slay AFK or otherwise busy people, hm, improve your skills a bit such that you can handle NPC's ;)

Scrap them, transfer the mats to bank and sell the mats in larger quantities. The value of the normal items usually comes from the materials they give. In the end you get the same with only a small fraction of TP sells.

That depends on the source of the gold. if it is really farmed it’s only against the ToS, but most gold comes from hacked accounts and trading stolen goods is against the law.
