  1. While I agree with almost all you said, if Revenant loses its signature teleportation skill (UA) I'm deleting my character and uninstalling the game lol. It certainly needs some changes and/or fixes, but losing it and getting something alike to Whirlwind Attack would kill sword/sword for me.
  2. Easily the flashiest Rev weapon skill. I wouldn't mind more range, but it could definitely use a damage increase in PvE.
  3. Devotion to the gods is a defining trait of Humans, just as science is to the Asura, reputation/legend to the Norn, or war/military to the Charr. While the departure of the gods and their subsequent forsaking is one of the major challenges of humanity, religion is still core to their culture, history and lives. And so, character creation reflects that, independently of how the world is evolving at that point.
  4. Another dreadful patch for Revenant. Nothing new, but it's still painful to see... Time to accept it guys, there's probably no one who thinks of this profession in the balance team. No changes to Devastation, no changes to Shiro skills energy costs in PvE, no updates to gameplay, no design ideas, and I could go on. On top of that, the quickness changes don't seem appealing to me at all.
  5. What is this, man, it feels like the same thing over and over with ANet's balance... I swear, it's insane that they keep making the same mistakes, please rethink the changes and maybe get someone with fresh ideas to the balance team. After the fiasco from last year, this preview really hurts.
  6. I've been playing Revenant almost exclusively since HoT, and can say the profession and its e-specs feel fun to play overall, at least for me –maybe less so Renegade, and that's mostly because of its boring utilities. However, gameplay could be improved by a lot if ANet sat down and focused on the problems of both core Rev and the e-specs. That's where most complaints come from imo, and I'd say justified.
  7. I made a post complaining about Scavenger Burst's one not long ago; that animation is used in 10+ skills across all Revenant utilities! So yeah, it would really help our enjoyment for the profession that ANet had a look at it. Not even necessary to make new animations from scratch, just use the ones they have better. Variety is key.
  8. How about opening all core weapons for all professions? Would that be too game breaking? That would surely dilute profession uniqueness, but also open builds so much.
  9. I feel sort of the same way, if something might happen 3-4 years from now, I may just act as if it wouldn't happen at all.
  10. The Revenant could well fill your "assassin" fantasy while having a fun-to-play melee gameplay, with high damage, sustain and mobility (I mean, we can literally channel the legendary assassin Shiro). However, its mechanics are quite unique, and so I'd encourage you to go mess around in the PvP lobby (where all skills and traits are unlocked by default, including elite specs, as if you were lvl 80) to check if they click for you. On a side note, I don't know if you own all expansions, but if you are enjoying guardian but want a more selfish, damage oriented gameplay, definitely have a look at the Willbender specialization for Guardian. It's literally melee, selfish (mostly), high damage and with a lot of dashes and shadowsteps. You need the End of Dragons expansion to play it, though.
  11. Shiro legend as a whole (skills + Devastation trait line) has been neglected for quite some time now, while being the most basic and iconic part of any Power Revenant build. It should definitely be looked into as soon as possible (not holding much hope that it'll happen next June patch though).
  12. Playing this game is still suffering.
  13. I mean, I'm happy you're enjoying the animation, but I just want to enjoy it too more while going full Power/Quickness in OpenWorld 😁 I just can't unsee it, I don't know what other skill or profession uses Tree Song's one, but Scavenger's is just the most generic and overused thing I've seen... It's used in literally every Renegade utility skill + Heroic command, and also in Herald's True Nature and Infuse Light. So when I saw Tree Song I felt a ray of hope of new and fresh animations for our profession. Please, if someone from ANet is reading this, I assure you no one will miss current Scavenger animation, and you'll fulfill a fellow Revenant player's dream 🥲
  14. Or even make them the same one. Scavenger's animation is one the most used and generic ones, while Tree's is much more unique and satisfying when seen. Sadly, Luxon skills are much more often used than Kurzick's, and so I would rather have the pretty animation on the more used skill. Thoughts?
  15. It's sort of a meme, look it up. Also, it really hurts me hearing Shiro asking "What happened to the Empire" while in the middle of it.
  16. What do you think our chances of using dagger, as a new e-spec or possibly new core weapon, are? I'm working towards a 3-gen legendary and variants, and thought about sword first but honestly, its design is pretty bland compared to others. On the other hand, I find dagger to be one of the best skins that weapon has. I mostly (almost exclusively) play Revenant, and I'm between crafting sword for utility, or holding materials and hoping for a future dagger for us. Thoughts?
  17. They are not comparable and they know it. What they are actually doing is using a fallacy, placing both people in the same "group" to discredit both at the same time, even if those criticizing the developer vastly outnumber those sending death threats.
  18. So you're seriously comparing wishing someone's death to saying somebody's not capable of doing their job properly? Especially when that someone admitted to having to look for their job's subject in a community-based wiki and playing favourites with its professions? Alright, I'll take your statement literally and stay far from this franchise I've loved for more than a decade and its community, that somehow endures being laughed at over and over again.
  19. The balance team is still a joke, what are these changes...
  20. Remember when some people complained about the colors and oversaturation? And so many others just kept defending it, I wonder if they realise why the maps are empty...
  21. I'm actually kind of happy that many players are speaking out loud about what this expansion ended up being. Whatever happened inside ANet, I have no clue. But it seems there's no leadership, no talent, and no care except for –mostly– political ideas. And it actually showed before its release: in every beta, in every e-spec preview, one could see where the Devs were going and how they didn't seem enthusiased at all about the gameplay. But there were so many players wishful thinking that almost all criticism was drowned, or even worse, censored. We don't need any of that. What we need is developers, artists and creators that actually enjoy playing the game and care about it and its players, not about playing real-world politics. It's unforgivable what they did to Cantha and the overall Faction's legacy in the name of God-knows what.
  22. To be honest, when I made this post I wasn't talking specifically about PvP (or PvE for that matter) effectiveness –but more about how the gameplay felt and the potential it had for both professions. And even then yes, I was mostly wrong when I posted this claim. But my fears came true after all, and that makes me sad. Both WB and Vindicator were a mess when released, but somehow I felt WB had much, much more potential. When I started playing Revenant, playing as Shiro was the thing I felt more appeal to, and seeing that potential wasted and given to another profession was the main idea behind the post.
  23. Hey all. Just coming back to the forums to say: I wasn't wrong after all! And how sad that is. Every time I feel the urge to come back to playing Revenant (and GW2 at all, as Rev was the only profession I truly enjoyed), I just check the forums and the urge dies away. How or why they chose to turn one of the most interesting professions into the most dull, un-interactive and ineffective ones I just can't begin to guess. The energy system is a mess. The traits are a mess (Devastation and Alliance worst of them). Greatsword, the most wanted weapon, ends up being mediocre at best. And to make things worse, Guardians get a better Shiro gameplay than us –who channel Shiro. Feels so bad to be right sometimes.
  24. What the hell man, he probably just meant adding some of those effects (i.e. the character's silhouette turning grey and surrounded by mists as he appears jumping down) to the current dodge animation, not changing it altogether. Right now, the first part of the jump is fine because the character goes all the way up, out of the camera's frame. But then he literally pops mid-way down, and so it's such a wasted opportunity if they don't add the trademark effects of the revenant to it. What's up with you people just charging mindlessly against any suggestion of improvement being made? We love this game and want the best for it. At least try to understand the suggestions before posting against them.
