  1. Nah warrior has the highest base toughness and vitality it really doesn’t need to be unstunnable too.
  2. You can’t block an unblockable projectile. Each tick of 24 confusion is 50% an ele’s health and you often need to use two skills to cleanse it.

  4. +1 Me, an ele: stacks 17 might, sacrificed all toughness and vitality, and often times have to teleport to land a 9k burning speed on light armor Valk untamed: 0 might 8k maul followed by 0 might 8k tail swipe while having 28k hp go brrr
  5. Good point. Only ele/engi/guardian lack boon corrupts and rips.
  6. The number one problem is despite each weapon having at least 16 weapon skills there is a humongous lack of ability to do damage with a variety of skills (untraited). For power damage on both scepter and dagger the only hard hitting skills are found in fire, and it’s only 1 skill on dagger and 2 skills on scepter. Offhand dagger has 2 skills in fire that do good damage, too. Weaver shined because the dual attune skills did lots of damage making ele gameplay more fluid. No staff skills do any damage whatsoever. If elementalist had utility skills that did damage or aided in doing damage considerably like revenant utilities the class would do tremendously better. The number two problem is a lack of mechanics. Ele (and maybe thief?) are the only classes without reveal. Ele is one of 4 classes with no stealth. The class tied with the least ports (with engineer and ranger), no life siphon ability, the lowest hp and toughness, no traits that guarantee crit or increase crit chance above 20% (making Valkyrie impossible to use), no ranged weapons that work, no skills that heal on hit (like defiance stance, infuse light, willbender heal etc), totally cucked by chill and confusion more than any other class by far, lowest damaging condition variety in the game except guardian, and more.
  7. Funny thing is I tested this with zerk/aristocracy ruthlessness/absorption and I had 25 might and did burning speed on a warrior it crit for 5800. I put on fire and had 18 might and crit for 9800 followed by a 6700 pyromancer puissance with speed runes. Thing is when you’re so glassy port doesn’t matter because if you get hit once you die it’s always better to simply out-damage or cc your opponent. Also, condi cleanse. Also, recharge reduction on conjure skills.

  9. The reason is quite simple, actually. Catalyst is designed to not be good.
  10. I only play in high tiers (plat 3) and I don’t get blown up. This build requires a lot of reflexes but the only thing to really worry about is stealth attacks and the occasional cope elixir. That’s it, really. I even play with aristocracy sometimes for nearly permanent 25 might and don’t really get hurt.

  13. If ranger is one of your examples... none of the ranger evade weapon skills do 2k,3k,even 8k-10k (like I regularly land on cyclone axe) so it even still is a horrible comparison. The ranger skills are dodges first while the skills you mentioned would be too good at defense and offense. On axe/axe it is quite easy to 1shot most builds and doing so with 100% evade frames would be ridiculous. You cant 1shot anything while evading unless you're a fully buffed herald with enchanted daggers/battle scars/25 vuln/25 might vs light armor beserker at 80% or less health. I'll even say you can't even do 40% of a player's health with most dodging skills (unless you're vindicator fighting a glass ele)

This build is as glass as a class can get, having no protection, vigor, blocks, and only one invuln. It also has some of the highest aoe damage and single target damage with very little counterplay to it. Lightning Hammer is better than Earth Shield for most matchups except vs matches with: 2 or more necros, a good ranger, a good holosmith. Lightning Hammer is also better for dueling than Earth Shield for the matchups I stated as well. This build is open to variations based on various circumstances. For example, you should feel free to use aristocracy rune for the extra 5 might on each cc and the ability to stack 12 might per interrupt. Savagery sigil and stormsoul have excellent synergy with lightning hammer and shocking aura. Shocking aura and transmute air have a stun duration of 1.5 seconds instead of 1 second, and static field from lightning hammer has a 3.5 second stun duration with these two picks. Another choice is your open utility slot in which I placed signet of air for my link. Fortified Earth and Arcane Shield are both excellent alternatives to signet of air. A time I would pick Fortified earth is vs a comp whose DPS is mainly a willbender or harbinger as they don't have access to any unblockable damage or cc in their meta builds but they do have insanely high and consistent pressure that forces you to block multiple hits in succession. Arcane shield is best for executing your combos safely without fear of interruption, but it becomes worthless instantly when fighting classes like bladesworn or virtuoso as they have loads of unblockables that totally render it worthless, making signet of air the superior pick. Lastly Earth Shield over Lightning hammer is a rare pick but it is best used when you know you will be focused, or there is high ranged pressure, or team does not have high stability. Earth shield is generally worthless against a class with high stability and/or high sustain/defenses. In the case of matches where there is a high amount of weakness Earth Shield shines over Lightning Hammer. How to play: General knowledge of Lightning Rod gameplay is a necessity but the main damage comes from your lightning flash>burning speed>pyro puissance combo and your lightning flash>static shield> Lightning Leap> Invoke Lightning combo. Tornado is also a very good tool to do high damage and CC as well as gaining might. This build is a teamfighter and its specialty is to go unnoticed at the beginning of an encounter and 1shot an enemy player down in less than 4 seconds tipping the scale in the favor of your team. It does massive aoe damage as well. It also cleanses very easily as to not be as affected by weakness/chill/immob which would normally eliminate an ele. Duoing with my friend a hybrid tempest/support main we won 93% of our games ever played together (about 30) as this build brings more to a teamfight than any other damage build.

  18. For the past year and a half to two years I have periodically had a type of input lag where none of my skills will activate for anywhere from 3-10 seconds at a time at random intervals. So, you might be thinking it's my internet, right? No. All other players/the environment around me are acting in real time, I can move my character in real time and it registers to my enemy, and I can even press dodge and it works in real time too. Additionally, I am in America for the summer at a completely different house on entirely different internet and the problem is identical to what I experienced everywhere else I have lived in this period of time. Also, my ping does NOT spike/change when this occurs or directly after. My ping stays completely normal and only the skills I use are affected. So you might be thinking it is something on my computer that could cause this? No. I have a work computer where I handle all my official business and I mostly use my phone to surf the web and only have this laptop I use for gaming and have had this laptop for 5 years. When I first encountered this problem I did a full system restore to factory settings and the problem was fixed until a few months later it came back right after I downloaded the most recent patch. Could my computer not be working properly in terms of firmware/hardware? Unlikely. Other mmos I have played on my laptop I have experienced 0 lag whatsoever and it seems to be GW2 specific. In fact today I had reset my computer again to factory settings in an attempt to fix this issue and what ended up happening is as I was redownloading GW2 it just surpassed the playable threshold and I played it and the lag was miraculously gone. I then let the new patch install and no problems. I let the game fully install to 100% and it is back. Could it be something with the GW2 files? I know no one else I've talked to has even heard of anything similar to my problem. I also don't have anything other than the basic apps that come with a new computer installed except google chrome and GW2 as I use other devices for my other needs. Things I've tried to troubleshoot: Disable and reenable DX11 Uninstall/reinstall GW2 Reset my computer to factory settings Reset my router Used entirely different internet companies (due to moving a few times) Change graphic settings Check my laptop's heat levels (always fine) Uninstall and reinstall Windows11 Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated !
  19. As far as sPvP goes Cata can be built to win a duel vs everything that isn’t virtuoso or daredevil. It also has the highest burst in the game if built correctly.
  20. Not necessarily. Cata one shots with 3 buttons in 3 ways meanwhile it takes ranger 9.
  21. The point of harbinger is it gets its defense from its oppressive offense. No one is afk tanking svanir hits in sPvP.
  22. I somewhat disagree the water attunement is not that great but I completely agree the autos need a damage buff. Focus, warhorn and main hand dagger are all very strong in water and shatterstone is a pretty good skill too.
  23. Discipline provides permanent 25% increased movement speed for your core war, and high uptime of swiftness for your spellbreaker. For bladesworn, you can have permanent swiftness with just warhorn alone.
