  1. It all depends on ArenaNet. People want to play GW2. And likes this game. It's combat system, etc, etc.But even the biggest fans have their patience limit. This video is quite interesting:
  2. You don't have to reinvent the wheel...It's commonly known how to increase raiding scene in your game. You just have to: release new wings (Pretty fast, but not too fast. And regularly. To make raiders feels safe and let them plan when they'll progress) have a good long-term reward system (which won't get bored after few wings) Gw2 failed in both aspects. In the current situation it is probably impossible for raiding scene to reborn tbh. Because too many people which loves to raid already quit. And it will be very difficult to make them come back, because many of them feel cheated. They came here to raid. They took their time to learn the game. And they received 2/3/4 bosses per year.
  3. Its cool but sad at the same time. Because Arena Net should organize some raid championships once per year. With real money prize pool.Same in PvP.
  4. Twitch is about few things: Esport or some kind of meaningful competitionPopular game titlesNew overhyped thingsGw2 has none of them. So it's probably just too boring to watch. Game is f2p (so everyone can play it itself) and very casual (so there's no need to watch things, because literally everyone can play this way by yourself). There's also not enough new content to attract players regularly with new things (no hype). As you can see every scene of hardcore players (pvp, wvw, raids) is kind of "dead"in this game. Veterans are leaving. Alot of PvPers left. Raiders? Same. WvW? Too.So when there's no players, which wants to play this game this way, then there certainly won't be viewers too. Every of this game modes were able to bring pretty big audience. We saw it in the past. But it worked just for a while, because every of this game modes sooner or later became very underdeveloped. Gw2 had a lot of good and pretty big streamers in the last few years. And there's still few of them (probably not for long). But sooner or later they all leave. And reason is almost always the same - they're not happy with the state of the game. And underdeveloped game modes. That's why GW2 don't grow on twitch and always is in the same place.
  5. Why do they have to lock pvp players out of content for 2 weeks but not other game modes. Actually raiders are locked for a year :P
  6. PvP population isn't low for no reason. It just can't grow with current system. It will only decrease. As I remember A LOT of PvPers left day after ArenaNet deleted team queue. While few days before we were fighting agains dozens of teams. Everyday we met other pvp teams. PvP felt alive these days. And then it all was gone. Just like that.
  7. 1,2,3 and 4 seasons were the best. While since season 5 it's getting worse. Just let people play solo, duo, trio, 4 and 5 man.
  8. Yep. I wrote about it in another thread.Word "Raid" has its specific meaning in mmorpg genre. Progression is most important part of raiding. While GW2 lacks of real progression. "Raids" here are based on farming same things over and over.So people which want to raid here are dissatisfied. Because they are misled. Meantime more casual players (who are the majority of this game) don't like this word at all.
  9. I'd argue about GW2 being a casual game. It truly isn't. What's casual are the skill-requirements for OW-content. But concerning time investment, GW2 is pretty hardcore. You could even argue that GW2 is grindier than some Asia-Grinders. The problem is rather the lack of difficulty progression and necessary learning curves in vital parts of the game, namely OW-content. Its kind of funny. In my theory GW2 is very hard to learn and kind of hardcore game which is for some reason developed and targeted only for casuals :D
  10. W7 unfortunately had to be easy. It's already not about W7 at all to be honest. It all started much earlier. W7 is only a consequence of these negligence. There's already no real raiding audience in GW2 to do hard raids for them. Most of them left months/years ago. So ArenaNet made something easy to attract more people. At least try to attract more people. You won't keep raiders interested when you release new wings (with 2/3 bosses) once per year. Progression is most important part of raiding. While GW2 lacks of real progression. "Raids" are based on farming same things over and over here. IMO this content shouldn't be called "raid" anymore tbh. They should rename it. Because the name is misleading everyone. Doing those "raids" feels more like doing normal pve. Like dungeons or fractals. But not raids as we know from other mmorpg's. Renaming it may also bring more casuals to this content.
  11. Small support from ArenaNet (not enough new wings, bosses). Progression is most important part of raiding. While GW2 lacks of real progression. Raids are based on farming same things over and over here. Most of the gw2 community is very casual. Whole PvE in GW2 is not engaging for many people (and pointless) which liked this game mode in other games. They do not feel the need to do it. Alot of people which likes raids already checked GW2 PvE and they didn't like it. And information which tells that there's no real PvE in GW2 has gone into the world. So raiders avoid this game. Underdeveloped raiding rewards system. Instability of ArenaNet. No schedules. Real plans. I mean. It looks like they do things at the last minute, which are not part of a larger whole. These points means that GW2 probably won't be raiding mmo ever. It's probably possible to change it, but it would require A LOT of ArenaNet work. I mean working 24/7 as some other companies do, etc, etc.
  12. PvPers were talking about problems in this mode for years now. And they received: Malicious responses from more casual players or short-sighted newcomers which were saying over and over that everything is fine. And gw2 is best, flawless game everBecause most of them thinks that when queue time isn't long it means the game mode is very popular and fine. And they don't feel like they need pro scene in their game. Because they don't want to play on that level. Silent from Arena Net and ignorance. As a consequence so many good pvpers already left. But there will be always someone who's going to stay. And this small % of survivors which still plays pvp can't compete with other pro players right now. Because there's not enough of them in game.So they have to beat low rated ppl now :) Not their fault.
  13. Imo ArenaNet should focus on doing offline games. As a studio. Maybe rpg or even something else. And just forget about mmorpg's. Last 7+ years showed that they just can't handle MMORPG genre. They're good in doing new things. Which are kind of innovative and creative.I am pretty sure there's ALOT of talented people in ArenaNet. But it looks like when they do something, then they just can't support it enough to keep people interested. We can see it in every competitive game mode. PvP. Raids. WvW. They do cool things but then it looks like they abandon them to focus on doing another new things. Instead of developing them more and more.Even SaB showed it.
  14. I know it is not a perfect kill. We are far away from being pro players, but it's our first kill, so we are proud of it :)Also I believe it will motivate other raiders to improve. Because if we were able to do it. Then everyone is. Just do it :D
  15. Asuras with long beards would be really cool https://dviw3bl0enbyw.cloudfront.net/uploads/forum_attachment/file/60320/gw2_small_Biographie_Asura_Bronk.png
  16. Hello @ArenaNetIs there going to be a wing 8 in the future of Guild Wars 2?
  17. This is simply not true. You have to be an idiot to not understand what is going on in WoW. In guild wars 2 on the other hand you need to have actual solid experience to understand why and how someone died. Its not issue of what is old, boring or bad. But what can a new or potentially interested player process visually as information about the game and its mechanics/features. And GW2 with its flashy action oriented combat with mega particle effects and boon/condition oriented combat is a great mystery for uninitiated. I havent played WoW since the burning crusade, and I still sometimes watch WoW and am able to understand what is going on even if i dont know the name of skills for example. Its simply way to easier to process. "You press button. Button does X damage. Maaaybe it will do some additional effect. The end." Guild wars 2 is nowhere near that. But I understand what's going on in WoW's pvp. Because I played it competitively for many years. I also understand whats happening in GW2.Its not my point. WoW' is just not designed as esport PvP game. Its more about PvE, which also affects PvP game mode in some way. While it shouldnt.PvP is PvP. And PvE is PvE. Both should be completely separated. While WoW don't provide it. That's one of the reasons why I called WoW's pvp bad.And in my opinion (while i get used to wow's pvp and gw2 pvp) its MUCH more fun to watch GW2 pvp, than WoW.But I know both games. I am also pretty sure if you show WoW's pvp to some1 who didn't play it then this person won't understand what's happening there too. Same as in GW2. You have to play it to understand it. In both games. Blizzard just hype and support PvP enough. And its main work they put into their PvP game mode. Hype. Not PvP itself (gameplay, balance, etc, etc). Also that's why its less popular than LoL ;)If ArenaNet would support their PvP same as Blizzard does it in WoW. With those money. Prizes. Tournaments. Etc, etc. Then imo it would be much better than in WoW. Because GW2 gameplay is much better. Edit: Also. Even Blizzard dont hide that, so... /watch?v=SLLWpT_nsTE&t=57s
  18. carrie or carry me and 8 other ppl in dhuum challenge mode.me and 8 others do nothing and you solo the boss for our loot.i think this would be hard enough.if you like it. then answer and we have a deal.i am a casual and noob. not interested in difficult contend and want everything easy (gaming must be relax) this is for mmo games.that’s nice in guildwars 2 noobs can have legendary weapons. only gold and time is needed. only skills needed are jumping puzzles. Its almost exactly what people do already :P Because there's no enough new pve content, then people start to find challengies by themselves. So they do low-man raids. They sell bosses. They do speed-kills. Etc, etc. Ofc it shouldnt work like that. It's pathology. Especially if it comes to PvE. And it leads sooner or later to burnout. And frustration.Game should provide enough new content for their players... So they wont have to search for challengies by themselves... Example below xD
  19. No regular hardcore content releases = game is dead in media . Its simple. Its also not just about twitch. Its almost everywhere. YouTube. Facebook. Twitter. Everywhere.I guess ppl will tell soon its not fun to read about gw2 too. People like to tell just something like "Gw2 is bad to watch". To justify the game.Like... "It is how it is. Game is fun to play, but not to watch" blah, blah, blah...But its nonsense and a lie. Gw2 can be really fine to watch. Yes. But what do you want to watch there tbh?1 new raid wing per year? xD Or unsupported and kind of dead esport?Or maybe new story once per 3 months? For about 2 hours? There's just nothing to watch. So people don't care. I like to watch GW2. PvP for example. If some1 play very good then it looks like an art. Really :DBut u know what? I almost dont watch GW2 streams. And reason is simple: there's no new content to watch. No hype. Etc. Etc. Check whos top1 on twitch? Fortnite. You know why? Because those guys work 24/7. And they push new content so hard.Also... LoL - because Riot Games support their esport as hard as they can. They put alot of money into it.But how about mmorpgs? WoW is first. Why? They support raids so much. World first race, etc etc. Also... Whats so funny - WoW's pvp is so bad tbh. ALOT worse to watch than GW2 PvP. But meantime Blizzard organize (regularly - year by year) their tournaments. Tirelessly. With real money prizes. So people feel like this mode is important. And watch it to learn something, etc, etc. They make hype. Nothing comes for free. Its all about hard work. While as we can see ArenaNet work casually :/ Some may like it. Some not. Its their policy. And their decision. And they're fine with it i guess.
  20. Its huge problem. Because it shows people that they just can't trust ArenaNet :/ And shows them as unstable company. When people want to spend their valuable time on something. Especially when it comes to hardcore content like raids or pvp. Then they just need to be sure that their time wont be wasted. And company wont change their mind suddenly. While ArenaNet seems to change their mind very often. Its not just about raids. But pvp too. E.g. one day people were able to play 5v5 games. As teams. They spend alot of their time to improve their skills etc, etc. In season 1,2,3 and 4 as I remember. And then suddenly 5v5 games were removed from the game. For a long time. Just like that. Same with raids. It was releasing once per 3/4 months. Groups were able to progress it, etc, etc. And then bang! 1 raid (with 3/4 bosses) per year <.<
  21. No one knows the numbers. Just ArenaNet. I just notice that hardcore content (raids, pvp) may be created for smaller audience. But it don't matter because it brings big audience (by streams, videos, artices on games sites etc, etc) .And that's fact. If it is indeed a fact, then please provide the supporting factual evidence to support your claim. Please show us the detailed, relevant statistics from Anet and the gaming business community.I can't, because there's no hardcore content in GW2. So we just can't tell how big audience it may make. But we can check it in other games. As I know esport tournaments are fine. And popular as hell. Also WoW for example. They had ALOT viewers when method (top1 raiding guild) were progressing new raid. But it require alot of work. Its not enough to make 1 raid wing per year and expect that it will suddenly work. Nope. it wont. It requires regularity. While GW2 already has been labeled by gaming community as game without raids and pvp. And untrusted company. So it don't help also.
  22. No one knows the numbers. Just ArenaNet. I just notice that hardcore content (raids, pvp) may be created for smaller audience. But it don't matter because it brings big audience (by streams, videos, artices on games sites etc, etc) .And that's fact.
  23. Have you thought...that maybe.. there's less support for raiding, because its not popular enough to invest such resources? Haha. Ofc. I already knew that some1 will mention about it. So I wrote it: Also people complain that raiding community is so small. So its not worth to develop it more etc, etc.But it just can't grow if new raids are released so slow. Its simple.Ofc raiding community always will be smaller than open world community. Its nothing revealing. And it dont mean open world content brings more money. Its a lie. Money these days are in live-streams for example. And what gets most popularity? Hardcore content. So maybe its about very few hardcore players, but not completely, cause they bring thousands of viewers / players. And money. For the game. Also any gaming media likes to write and talk about hardcore content. So game is getting more and more popular because of that. While right now if media talks about gw2 its just about layoffs or some boring stuff. And casual content isnt interesting for them. Hardcore content is made for a smaller audience. But it brings big audience.
  24. First of all, raid wings (with 3/4 bosses) should be released once per 3/4 months. As it worked in ~2016. Not slower. Then we can even talk about easy, normal or hard modes.Right now its just not worth for alot of pure raiding guilds and teams (so alot of them quit raiding) to raid in gw2 if t means for them to login once per year to clean everything in one week. And then wait another year for something new. Its too casual to form raiding guilds. Also with that "speed" of releasing new content you can do everything with pugs w/o any problem. Or maybe new wings once per year as it works right now, but with alot more bosses. Like 12. And release 3 bosses per 3 months. So you keep interest for the whole year. And problem is solved. Edit: Also people complain that raiding community is so small. So its not worth to develop it more etc, etc.But it just can't grow if new raids are released so slow. Its simple.Ofc raiding community always will be smaller than open world community. Its nothing revealing. And it dont mean open world content brings more money. Its a lie.
