In compensation they increased the score placement pips by 1 each, and added 1 pip to each rank tier. Now I can stay for hours on an outnumbered map, where my world is pushed to the spawn camps. But I guess the problem here is more than the outnumbered rework. Unless you have a group to roam with, its pretty pointless to try to do anything on small scale. So players just go where there is an obvious numbers advantage.
