That happened to me this morning. Someone noticed I was running on foot and asked in chat if I had a mount. When I said no,  the commander marked me and mounted folks stayed near me to make sure I could keep up. 🥰

There are certainly toxic people in WvW.  But it isn’t the norm.

Usually when I see someone running around without a mount I usually run next to them, not a big deal. Though sometimes it turns out after a minute or two of doing this the person then mounts up.... 😑 😄

I created a 2nd account recently and was able to get a warclaw in 2 days. The biggest delay was completing the reward track.

Same, but not recently. In fact, I have multiple alt accounts, all have Warclaw. All were done very quickly.

Just add it to a vendor for 100g and be done with it- no more chasing around waiting for a keep to fall for possibly days on end if you hit the wrong times or map or...

 

I got mine for my mains and alts etc when it first came out and it was fairly easy back then with way more action.

 

Now, some servers and times people might struggle and it might discourage people from doing wvw- and seeing as numbers aren't exactly swelling, having any new people should be viewed as something to be encouraged- not putting barriers in the way.

You all do know that the "take a keep" thing includes the borderlands keeps, too, right? There are large stretches of time when either Bay or Hills flip like once every 20 minutes.

Reset.  Or EoTM.  It isn’t hard.  A little patience goes a long way.  WvW is already a borderline gold sink.  No.

Again, less players means less resistance..  or get three friends and take an EoTM keep.

I don’t see the point of making new WvW players earn the Warclaw. It’s an annoying hurdle that does the opposite of “thanks for trying this game mode, you’re going to like it here”.

I have no problem with the skyscale aquisition, but the Warclaw gate just seems needless. By all means keep the mastery system for it, but just unlock the base version for all players.

Well, I’ve got mine and still feel this way. I think it was a mistake to put this hurdle in the way of new players. It’s not fun. It’s something you grit your teeth and get through. They should have unlocked them for everyone when they were first implemented, and ranking it up could have been the journey.

I feel the same way about the requirement to grind unranked for twenty levels of PvP before you can queue ranked. It’s a weird way to introduce people to a game mode that would presumably be stronger with an influx of new players.

I understand the “back in my day” mentality, but I don’t see how it adds anything to the game.

Sure. One reward track that leaves new players scratching their heads and wondering if they even want to bother.

For the record, I’m a GoB defender, so I don’t think a reward track in itself is an onerous burden. Warclaw just strikes me as an unnecessary hurdle in the way of new WvW players.

What do you think it adds, that the game would be diminished if they got rid of it?
