Spook.5847
The rich orichalcum mines in Lake Doric and Sandswept isles disappeared when the SotO "expansion" launched. What was the reason for that? Similarly, why wasn't this extreme nerf to materials announced in the patch notes? This happens quite a lot in GW2 (thinking of when wood boards and metal bars went from 2-3 units to make for instance), and I am interested to know why there is so much focus on making it ever more difficult for people to farm materials, limit options, etc. 1
Cuks.8241
The Sandswept one, at least the one I know of (north part, just south of Starcaller) is not there every day. I know a few like that (Istan for example) that either switch between positions or just are not available every day. 3
DanAlcedo.3281
Sometimes they are just gone. You could call that pretty spooky.
costepj.5120
Also there is a cap per character on ori in Sandswept - I think 19 - one rich node and three regular ones. After that other ori nodes on the map blink out of existence.
Arianth Moonlight.6453
I gather iron, platinum and orichalcum each day and the one Sandswept isles disappeared for 2 days this week but it's back. And according to GW2 Efficiency, there is no permanent node in Lake Doric. 1
TheNecrosanct.4028
I've farmed both of these nodes since the release of SotO so they are still there. There are periods I do this on a daily basis and I've never noticed either one of them gone (or any other rich orichalcum veins, for that matter). They just don't always spawn in the same place. I check all the places I know where they tend to spawn and can always find them. There's a list on the wiki as well but it's far from complete, especially when it comes to newer maps. 1
Eloc Freidon.5692
Archipelago has two rich nodes on the two highest islands with no hostile mobs at least. I'm contemplating moving all my parked characters there, but I'd lose out on ancient logs. Edited September 10, 2023 by Eloc Freidon.5692
DarcShriek.5829
Sandswept Rich Ori has not been nerfed. I don't know enough about lake Doric to speak on that.
