One of the new spear skills has a leap, which has a warclaw spirit animation, similar to some other ranger weapons.

This, it's comically bad and actively ruining other parts of the game by being a huge time sink (EDIT:time sink for the devs) that players only experience for a few moments before going back to the rest of the game, which thanks to story is now also lacking - the the rest of the game is what people play for countless hours between updates... Not a smart design choice.

To be fair, Warclaws just look like that once you remove the cool armor and fur shape.
I hopefully it's just a semi placeholder and they will refine the model to be more detailed once we give feedback (instead of whatever this post it).

maybe, but it doesn't look "pouncey" it really looks like someone just hurled it and it trying to fall on its feet.

maybe if it had a jumping animation at the start, a better mid animation that looks more like leaping than falling and a claw swipe at the end it wouldn't look so silly.
