Just reduce the stool's size to a bare minimum? Okay, just tried your scenario, and the stool is rendered "too small" to sit on. 😕

I know that would be the result. That's the reason I want do-dads that we can use to produce the same result. Caithe is sitting on an invisible chair that has been phased into the fireplace.

The do-dads could also use the animations from the chairs released on the BLTP. You could have a do-dad that could allow you to sit cross-legged. I can see the application for that to make meditation areas. You could also use it to sit on the ground. We could have do-dads that allowed us to lie down on our backs with our arms crossed behind our heads from the second seat on the beach chair.

We do have an invisible chair with three different poses that could be acquired in-game through an achievement. Something like that would solve the issue indeed.

My post got merged into this one so posting updates here I guess!

These cool areas are currently not within bounds

Quick addition - pressing escape when you have a decor item ready to be placed should first clear that decor item THEN close the decor window 🙂
Another - May cause some objects to look terrible with their textures but I think we should be able to have unlimited scaling on all objects. Or at least be able to make most items Homestead sized.

Cap should definitely be raised especially since the grass, fencing, and default objects in the home take up a large amount of  decoration slots. If you want to keep a lot of existing things, especially the fence, in the homestead you will quickly reach the 1000 limit over a few weeks of crafting. I'm at 974/1000 and I've barely done anything outside decorating the interior of the house. Little things like place settings and light sources quickly eat away at the deco limit before you realize it. And if you use the object within object method to spruce up things like stove tops  and cabinets you quickly run up that deco limit.  I'm going to have to start mowing the lawn by removing the grass objects to get more deco slots back.

Players that have been crafting regularly and hitting the weekly mat trade in caps since the xpack launch will be at or near the deco limit by now. I'm hoping  Masteries will increase the decoration slots as more updates come in and decoration levels go up.

I currently made an outside kitchen and decorated 3 rooms in the house (2 small ones and the upper half of the main room) and I'm at about 600 placed decorations.

I already removed the wall and many of the default placed decorations to get the limit down by ~200.

I would like to decorate all rooms in the house and some stuff outside. I have many ideas for outside. But with only 400 decoratins left, I don't think I can even finish the interior of my house.

1000 is indeed really too low to give freedom enough.

5000 max you can already do some nice things with in many areas !!! I really hope they make that happen...

Stuff to make castles!

Hoard your leather!!! its needed to make stone! (probably) 😞

Is this sarcasm or spot on accuracy? only time will tell and unfortunately i'm guessing it is.. from scribing mats, I mean why do bookshelves require leather and not refined wood?? I mean i get old scribing mats lists required it but when i think of bookshelves i think of wood. I still kinda hope its refined metal ore though. uhhgs

All kinds of fences and gates.
More decorative stuff, especially books.
Usable beds and hammocks.
Workstations.
Paintings.
Aquarium and fish.

I hope all of this will be added in future. There's a lot of stuff in Lowland Shore that's not available as homestead decoration.

We are getting the ability to build an aquarium with the next update.

current wants

all buildings are editable, especially the front planters and planks on the ground

ability to reposition stuff like the feline dispersing resonator etc

easy replenishable materials on the common decorations (like molten slivers for candles? really?)

reorganize list of decorations in crafting menu with option to list them in categories (like in the new decorations panel)

future wants

options for different terrains (maybe grass, snow, rocks)

"blank slate" homestead option, with maybe pre-built editable cottage, balcony, stable etc

terrain, like patch of flowers/grass, rocks and floors craftable objects

I 100% agree. I would love to be able to move those planter, get rid of the grass between them, and get rid of the wooden plank walkway. Give us green grass, different terrain, flower patches. I would also love it if more of the items needed for Handiworking were tradable and it would be nice to need fewer on some of them.

I haven't done a lot of decorating partly because of the cost, partly because I don't have the needed untradable resource and partly because we have 3 more levels of Handiworking to get and I am waiting to see what new decorations we get with them. The wiki did reveal one upcoming decoration. We are getting the aquarium that I wanted.

For starters I would have loved for the resources that went into housing to be spent on something else, like elite specs, story, the upcoming raid etc. But alas, housing it is.

Now since it is housing, most of the things I would "want" to see seems already there. "Want" doing lots of heavy lifting here since this feature just isn't for me. I am mostl concerned with aquisition. So please ANet, If it has to be housing let us aquire blueprints and materials ina fun way, i.e. by doing things O N C E instead of 50 times over. Let us craft a single chair with maybe three planks of wood and not 300. Things like that. Please have learnt from Guildhalls. I doubt it, because you have to pad te runtime somehow, but one can hope.

wtf no. its best kitten in long time. and it gives me endless hours of gameplay. go do something else ishhh
