Hey, I returned last Halloween and in the beginning everything worked fine out of the box with the lutris installer.
I'm using arch btw :classic_ninja:

But since January or so, the Trading Post stopped working for me.

Sometimes it works for a few minutes after deleting drive_c/users/max/Temp/gw2cache*
and/or switching the wine version + DXVK version but in the end I always land at the same errors.

Right now I have set lutris-ge-lol-6.16-2-x86_64 + DXVK v1.9.1L-2, the highest versions.
This wine version + DXVK v.1.7.1L seems to work the best if it goes about the TP.

I even tried the script from this thread here but had the same problem 😞
wine64 + wine executable.
[additional note: I had to hard code the directorys because the ../../../bin/wine64 got me a not found message]

I installed all packages + 32 bit libs mentioned in this thread here (-gamemode), but can't get it to work again permamently.

Maybe someone here has another idea, here are my lutris logs (start + end when I click on the TP icon)
+ screenshot of the ingame error.

That appears to be a network issue. Have you/Can you try changing the DNS setttings, these settings can usually be set in your internet modem and see if that helps?

Personally I use Cloudflare DNS which is: 1.1.1.1   More on it here: (https://www.cloudflare.com/en-gb/dns/)

Never had serious issues with Trading Post.

Ah yes I tried 1.1.1.1 + 8.8.8.8 for my arch system.

Right after the change it was fine but this can have been just luck because after a few trys it stopped working again.

This page works every time I open it, with my native webbrowsers and with the Internet Explorer in my gw2 wineprefix:
https://tradingpost-dfw-live.ncplatform.net/humans.txt

I even tried to paste the IP I get from pinging this url in my /etc/hosts but then I can only get delivered goods in the TP but can't search for items etc.

But yeah its somehow the dns functionality but my guess is, that its somehow a software problem.

Lately, my bank has started to double verify online shopping payed with debit/credit cards via bank pin. The TP doesn't seem to support this popup window inside its browser, and opens a empty white box in the middle of the screen. My bank is Nordea.
Anyone else experience the same? And can anyone verify similar problem their bank on the Windows' side?

P.S. I know there's an option for some people to buy gems via direct online banking. That is not in the available options for me, for unknown reasons.

Edit: Never mind, I just found a merged thread with others in a similar situation 😅

Anybody else failing to use the new Arcdps with dx11? Installing it both as dxgi or d3d11 results on the character selection screen loading then everything turning pitch black after 3 seconds. I can still see the mouse and click/hear the game on the background but the game is completely black.

Works perfectly fine without arcdps. I even have gshade running on dx11.

Can anybody at least confirm if they are running arcdps with dx11 under linux just fine? I still have this issue and it's becoming a problem.

TL;DR -- No, it's crashing with dx11.

Downloaded arcdps sep.28.2021 and dx9 is now working fine. It was not working on sep.27 -- maybe my mistake.

When using dx11, renamed and moved the file from ./data/drive_c/GW2/bin64/d3d9.dll to ./data/drive_c/GW2/d3d11.dll but game crashes after 1 sec. Checking ./data/drive_c/GW2/addons/arcdps/arcdps_lastcrash.log -> error: intercepted crash from hardware exception in "C:\GW2\d3d11.dll".

From deltaconnected.com/arcdps/ , renaming to dxgi.dll should not work, only with d3d11.dll.

sep.27.2021: removed dxgi exports (should fix loading from non-system drive on some systems).

Unclear if this bug should be fixed by arcdps dev, as there seem to have a lot of changes since sep.22.2021. Or maybe there's some Windows/DX11 dependency not yet included in ArmoredVehicle's package?

The game crashes on the character selection screen or right after the first mapload. Using "-dx9" in the script is works as usual.

I tried "-dx11" too and it works, but the game became slightly transparent even in full screen mode and keyboard doesn't work. (Arch/XFCE4, NVidia GTX 1660 Ti)

I'll try and test other options tomorrow too.

I'm still having this transparency/keyboard issue with DX11, but now I'm sure it's entirely on my side (a desktop theme thing), and could be easily solved by alt-tab forth and back once at the character selection screen.

Question from a total noob who is planning to leg it outta windows into linux, when activating the DXVK thingie in lutris does it matter if im running DX11 beta or dx9? or is dxvk doesnt care which one i swap to cuz it translate both dx9 and dx11 calls regardless?

@ArmoredVehicle.2849 now that DXVK works on macOS WINE and CrossOver, have you put any thought into adding macOS support to this effort? Would be really nice to have a dedicated build.

Hi sorry, late reply.

I don't own any Mac hardware (nor planning to), aside from that I'm not very familiar with macOS, so it's not something I'd be able to do.  If someone is interested in doing it though, I'd be happy to assist in any way I can.

Hello,

From my testing, both renderers are working fine with DXVK on Linux. I can't tell if there's any performance difference between the two. I've been using the DX11 beta almost since day 1, didn't run in any stability issues so far.  🙂

When running wine (both vanilla and staging) version 6.18-6.19 I have really bad performance in bigger zergs, be it wvw, metas or even in crowded cities, fps chopped down by half and some stuttering. No issues when running wine<=6.17, both DX9 and 11 with dxvk-1.9.2.

Curious if there was some regression or it's something wrong on my end. Anyone else running latest vanilla/staging noticed any performance degradation?

Will try proton/GE later, sticking with staging-6.17 for now.

Disclaimer: Please forgive my non-technical ignorance.

I play through Lutris (on Arch) and have installed Taco, however when I run run_taco.sh I get:

wine: invalid directory   exe: drive_c/Program Files/Guild Wars 2/GW2-64.exe in WINEPREFIX: not an absolute path

Could someone please point me in the right direction, I really don't want to go back to Windows!

Could someone please point me in the right direction, I really don't want to go back to Windows!

Absolute path means the full path to a file. You've only provided a path that is inside your Wine prefix.

I can crash the game every time if I zoom out too far on the world map. It crashes at other points in time (usually after a while of running) but the zoom out on world map is every time no matter what.

Edit: legacy is semi ok, not as many crashes but some graphics are messed up like characters faces and what not.

Will this be the same for Zorin 16? I can't seem to find the Systemd thing you go into at 4:38. I have a gtx 560m, which do not support of nvidia driver 465 :/ I'm at the edge of, I guess I can't run this game on Zorin 16 as Litrus is just telling me to update to a driver version I can't use, and error about directx 9 missing if I try to open the game.

I'm not familiar with Zorin except that it's based on Ubuntu, though if I recall newer distros may not need this setting.

As for your GTX 560M, it  lacks Vulkan support. Try the packages from the "Deprecated/Legacy Packages (WineD3D/OpenGL versions)" section, these downloads are for older systems without Vulkan support. Performance is slower however the game should still be playable. Also make sure to run the DX9 version of the game.

I've got the game to open now, but at the moment it's locked on 2fps :classic_laugh: Unfortunately I can not experiment more with it before I get my pc charger which I forgot at my parents house, that's a 2 hour drive.

I installed Zorin 16 on my desktop today instead after trying it out some from an usb stick. Installed the game through Lutris and it's working fine. Except for the lag spikes under 10 fps now and then in crowded areas. As I've installed the game through Lutris, should I still add these packages? I have an i7 3rd generation, so guess I'll have to go for Legacy Package if It's going to improve the performance :)

Hi, I don't know how the game performs in Lutris without Vulkan. My package is portable, so you can install it in a separate folder and compare the performance between the two.

I installed it, opened up the game through Lutris again. Somehow It's running at 70-100fps now, and very stable. It's just been improving more and more as I've played. I wasn't able to open up the game with the package though, got to the start window where you update the game. Then it just close the window before I'm able to click on anything. But as the performance has improved so much on the Lutris version, Then I just deleted the extra copy and just going to be using the Lutris one :)

Hi sorry, late reply.

I don't own any Mac hardware (nor planning to), aside from that I'm not very familiar with macOS, so it's not something I'd be able to do.  If someone is interested in doing it though, I'd be happy to assist in any way I can.

Thanks so much - how can I get in touch with you to discuss/collab?

I went through this topic as best as I could today to look for information but I've come up blank.
My Linux machine uses an HTTP proxy for internet access however I can't seem to get a configuration working that makes GW2 happy.

I have my /etc/environment variables all set for the proxy and working (I use this machine behind the proxy daily) and Ive tried running it through proxychains with no success.
- When run normally with`./play.sh` file it just fails to connect.

- When run through `proxychains ./play.sh` I get a GW2.exe error - dumped here: https://pastebin.com/YkEtrn4y

Anyone get this working before? I'm under the impression GW2 uses the windows system proxy settings but adding the registry keys with `user_regedit` didnt seem to work. Is there a way I'm able to launch Internet Options and set a proxy internally within this portable Wine setup? Any tips or ideas?

Hello Everyone,

I have been running GW2 for months now on my desktop (Archlinux) and my Legion Laptop (Manjaro) through lutris and everything worked great. Today GW2 started crashing immediately after clicking play on the launcher with a "Please send a report" dialog on my laptop and I have no idea what changed. My desktop still works. Any ideas and help would be greatly appreciated. I will attach a log for the wizards in this topic ;). If I should provide any more information please let me know!

EDIT: Apparently it was not my configuration or system that was the problem after yesterdays update. I was able to login and play for a bit again this morning. 😅
