  1. There's a movement to extend this law to the whole EU, so maybe in a few years it's going to be a bigger problem to the Anet (if GW2 is still kicking in the near future). I still have a few dozens of statuettes I can't spend on anything worthy, but I'm not against the idea to put a few statuettes into the WV.
  2. That's wrong, virtually every rolling/new distro is affected, because the bits of the backdoor started to appear in the tarball since 5.6.0. Technically the prepared exploit would work on every rpm-based system, including Fedora 41/Rawhide, SUSE Tumbleweed, Debian testing/unstable/exp, Kali too. Even Arch is affected, but luckily the original target vector is not working on Arch.
  3. This is in the wrong order, local variable exports should precede the command, like this: RADV_PERFTEST=gpl DXVK_ASYNC=1 gamemoderun %command% -provider Portal -ignorecoherentgpucrash --use-d3d11 However, DXVK_ASYNC no longer works/necessary, it requires a way older GE-Proton (7.45 and before, if I remember correctly). Also both the "use-d3d11" and "ignorecoherentgpucrash" switches are obsolete now, the game only has the DX11 engine and they removed the old CoherentUI systems. Lastly, RADV_PERFTEST is an AMD-only variable, so it does nothing on your Nvidia card. All in all, your command line should have only this (if you installed the Steam version and want to use the GW2 account Portal): gamemoderun %command% -provider Portal
  4. Fellow Linux users, update your systems NOW! (Especially if you're a Debian / Red Hat / Fedora / SUSE user.)
  5. Nah, it's far from that. Almost means I got about 1-3 days in a month without any of them. Why is it matters? What do you lose?
  6. I'm also a HoT + PoF only player, but I (almost) always have combos or dodges, or both every day.... It's an easy thing to do, so I'm not complaining. 🙂
  7. The previous forum version had markdown syntax, but they "modernized" it... 😞
  8. PSA: There's a KDE 6 (6.0.2 still has it) + XWayland bug (vga type doesn't matter) that appears in almost every 3D fps/tps game (bugreport). The camera controls are totally goes wrong, the camera shoots up to the sky or towards the ground, and the character just flipping around in one place. It seems this happens when the game could not grab properly the cursor. Currently there's no fix yet. This is a KDE6+XW-only bug, any other combinations, even KDE6+X11 works as before. GW2 workarounds: 1. On the character selection screen right click a few times and try to rotate your toon. It should smooth out after a few try, then the game will have no problems. This usually works for me. 2. Or use "gamescope --force-grab-cursor %command%" in the launcher. This requires the gamescope package.
  9. Anet doesn't support linux, you should come to this main GW2 on linux topic, especially the last two pages (e.g. which pixman and libpixman versions do you have?).
  10. Confirmed, pixman-0.43 without lib32-pixman still freezes, the launcher needs both to function properly.
  11. I'm not saying skyscale was a total mistake, but since SotO* the game devaluates the higher level utilities pretty fast: practically free skyscale, mishmashed weapon mastery (now that was a mistake imho), "free" ascended boxes (via WV), now "free" legendary items... I'm not sure this is a good and healthy thing we're heading to. * I skipped EoD and SotO, but I still have the LWS4 way to obtain it later.
  12. So, I did an upgrade today, and somehow it is working now: pixman-0.43 only (no lib32-pixman), GE-Proton 8.25, Steam launcher as a non-Steam game. At first it had freezed my KDE Wayland, but after a reset it's okay. Weird...
  13. So the answer for everything is not 42 but 43? Those mices miscalculated something or it is a floating point rounding error...
  14. OW solo power reaper here. I'm using staff and dagger/focus, which may be considered sub-optimal in dps, but both set has better lifeforce yield (Soul Marks, Chilling Nova + Chilling Victory, plus the utilities as Your Soul Is Mine and Spectral Walk) than the usual gs / axe combo. We need to top up our lifeforce bar as fast as possible to use our highest burst damage dealer reaper's shroud. (This is a slightly modified Hizen's celestial build.) In open world I'm also using the flesh golem minion for distract enemies, the high defiance break attack and some dps compensation, but it is unnecessary in groups and Chilled To The Bone or Lich Form is better.
  15. According to the source log, a few days ago they removed two "unused" functions and did some float128 change, then bumped the version number up. The new version went into the Arch extra yesterday. I'm also on 0.42.2.
  16. It's still working for me after the update, the launcher, the game, WV / TP, everything, as before. Kernel 6.6.10, EndeavourOS/Arch, KDE, Wayland. Last I've updated my desktop was Monday night. I'm using Steam (non-flatpack/snap) as a 3rd-party launcher with GE-Proton 8.25, not the Steam native GW2 version. My command line is (Radeon 6650XT card + Mesa 23.3.2-2): WINE_FULLSCREEN_FSR=1 RADV_PERFTEST=aco,sam,bolist,gpl,nggc gamemoderun %command% (Some test bits maybe redundant now, but whatever.) If it's the launcher, then maybe it's a missing electron dependency? Monday I got a few updates and a new version. I have "electron 28-1", "electron25 25.9.8-1", and "electron28 28.1.1-1" now.
  17. Did some testing and the barrier is only around/at Gunhan, not the whole opening. I can jump over him with raptor if I start roughly at the spot where the players appear.
  18. I got the Facet credit both as a weekly bounty and the legendary. Didn't tried other bounties, though.
  19. It is already reported as a bug. It's at the Lily entrance, around the guy who stands here. Every other window and approach passable as before.
  20. @RedArt.7405 is trying to build a native TacO port in the main Linux thread here.
  21. My Steam client in my home is not a fresh install but I don't have any game installed into it (I have a separated SSD for that), and it's just 16 MB now. Don't forget that Steam requires libraries and additional packages, and those are going into your shared system folders. My GW2 folder is 70 GB itself (included ArmoredVehicle's old, now unusable wine+dxvk runners stuffs which I didn't deleted yet).
  22. While still like the new system, I think it has a fatal flaw that lurked below all the new shinies until I noticed it: they randomized the options for everyone (which has its flaws itself, but spreads the players more), but they forgot (intentionally?) to add the detailed limitations that were there before. In game design limitations are super important, they made the players to go around and over to play out them and explore their extents. Limitations aren't gates, their purpose is to entice and direct the players to engage them. What I mean? In the old system I had to go out to the maps to meet their varieties (even if I didn't liked them), join the events and do different things that's not the same as the previous day. This caused the imbalanced days where everyone amassed onto the same maps and roflstomped everything in their path (actually, in some cases this behaviour made it worse, because many players didn't had the chance to make enough tags in the events and they had to play more on same map, which caused frustration and boredom). The devs wanted to spread the players more, so in the new system they randomized the dailies for everyone, but they made a big mistake and removed the limitations too. Now, most of the time, I don't have to go outside of my base camp where I log in. In the last 6-7 days (few weeks maybe) I've done almost every daily just around Amnoon under 10-15 mins: the farmlands always have an easy heart with a frequent mini-event (which has enough veterans too), both nearby HPs provide a mild, non-champion breakbar enemy, an easy vista is nearby, and all the gathering nodes just in arms length. I got more gold (and gems) and useful items from the AA shop than before from the daily chests - and much less unusable items, which still clutters my bank. There's no urge anymore to go outside of my "safe place": 95+% of the dailies doesn't specify (= limit me) where I have to go to do them. The old maps usually only come into play at the start of the new week then I forgot about them. Every day I log out just after I finished my dailies because I don't feel I have to go somewhere to do something. I'd like to finish all the season and HoT/PoF chapters I skipped before, but I lose my motivation to continue for the day. Easy money - why I should work for more? Am I the only one who feels this? PS: As I'm in the Crystal Desert most of my (usually short) playtime, I see that there're much less bounty calls and world boss event notices in the map chat. However, the afternoon casino coins event almost always goes way overboard, because there's a lot of bored player in the city who wants to do something, anything, but they don't know what to do because the game doesn't direct them to something to engage.
  23. I'd love to change my dozens of GoEs into GoBs on a 3:1, or 4:1 (heck, even 5:1) basis, but I'll not fall on my sword if it doesn't happen.
  24. I got the Maws of Torment (Desolation) this week. That meta is super empty on my usual playing timeframe (EU mid-afternoon). I did once or twice years ago when I was lucky with the map and the commanders, but not a popular meta for sure, it requires a lot of coordination. Well, I'll give a try to the map/LFG this weekend...
