  1. I very much like the idea of this but some of the changes sound somewhat power crept like aoe taunt on gs. That's a bit overkill. But everything else seems ok. Also like the idea of stealing endurance.. interesting.

  3. I'd also like to add that I put a decent amount of effort into minmaxing this build with all the synergy and maximizing stats. In wvw, build matters. I make all my own builds. No one is stopping you from running strong builds in wvw. And my build does have counter play / counter builds. I have very very limited mobility compared to other specs. I have 0 trait/utility condi cleanse. DE for example has very little counter play as they have permanent stealth and that means you can't target them> can't hit them = no counter play.
  4. There are ways to punish it. At least all most of the sustain in the build relies on rotation. No sos, sos trait, etc.Yea, ik build is op to an extent. But i could be way more boring and play NM - WS.I've chosen quickness, dmg over pure sustain. It's a significant tradeoff as fighting any competent condi builds is not really doable at all unless you get blessed by rng gods and get plasma every single time. Unless I'm dueling I don't really wanna play purposely weaker builds to display skills, tbh. There a lot of really "broken" builds out there when you roam. And I also don't want to let down my guild party when we roam by running a weaker build.

  8. Wvw only being a single gamemode isn't quite fair as there are many ways to play it. Or at the very least 2. Comp groups or Roaming / smallscale / solo.
  9. For fighting, yea, sure go ahead and cap it flat at 1500. Idc. In 90% of fights, you're not utilizing more than 1000-1100 range anyway. And in the other 10%, you utilize 1200-1400. Unless you're a tower camper. yea, they are annoying. But they aren't OP at all. Not even close. After soulbeast lost unblockable by trait, it's really easy to avoid their burst. Again I don't want to advocate for something that would make my life harder... But.. get some blocks/reflects, perhaps?I don't see people , who run 0 condi cleansing in their build, complain condi builds are OP. Nah bruh, just get condi cleanse. Bothered by soulbeast LB? Get a block or reflect. A lot of classes have it. Also, when it comes to siege(wvw), I feel like ranger deserves the extra range, as they are basically completely useless in group fights bigger than 5. Especially if you run longbow... which is what this thread is about.

For utilities: we heal as one, lighting teller reflexes, dolyak stance, moa stance, shout elite. Smokescale and siamoth pet for plasma on f2. Run full zerk armor, full commanders trinkets. Rune of dolyak. Sigil that gives quickness on interrupt. On longbow.. Rotation is all about merging for boons with plasma. So when you get plasma, pop moastance use plasma, heal, merge, longbow #4 for quickness boon reset after 5 seconds. Fighting against power builds you are nearly invincible. Dolyak stance stacks with protection for 66% dmg reduction. Fighting against condi, you must play ONLY defensive until you get plasma. When you get plasma, do your best to keep resistance boon for as long aa possible by extending boon duration, and then just go ham full offense. This build has higher dmg than any build running the NM + WS variant, and better boons higher dmg than BM + WS variant. Only thing is, if you're fighting pure condi builds, you rely on plasma rng. If you want better chances of winning vs condi, swap NM for WS. Personally I stay on NM most of the time as condi builds are rare and RNG does suffice for the most part.

  15. That's awesome! Beastmastery + NM will increase your boon duration and give you more access to quickness, protection. If you get sigil of celerity and use moastance you can have a REALLY high quickness uptime. So you can get both 25 might stacks and high quickness up time way easier than other traitlines while also having protection so you aren't as squishy as you would be with skirmishing traitline.

No problem, they're just trying to deflect any talk of balance away from their favorite pew pew builds, and don't get me wrong it is a fun pew pew build, but @bigo.9037 is right that it would be more constructive to discuss what is needed to balance Soulbeast now in hopes that Anet listens rather than risk them listening to the blanket QQ in the WvW forum. LB auto did get tweaked, but the issues with Soulbeast are inherent to the pet rider's and modifiers that the SB gains in Beast Mode. I tried to illustrate that amount to which Beast Mode can be over tuned, and if that were the focus of any balance then I think SB would be left in a decent place that the Ranger community can live with. After all you all don't want to end up like Chrono's right? I agree with the stats and modifiers. Finally some people with good constructive ideas instead of dismissing me as necro main. LOL.

These suggestions leave the time they find.Warrior and Ranger cannot be balanced in the same way.Ranger has basic statistics lower than the other professions precisely because he has a pet.When you use BM you do not get extra damage as for Warrior it is more correct to say that the profession is on par with the others, so you cannot balance them in the same way. I would like to add my personal opinion.These posts show that there is a part of the community that will never be happy for how many Nerfs Ranger has achieved, because it will never be enough.In these posts we talk as if the other professions do not have the means to neutralize Ranger "Ranger is able to fight anything as long as it remains at maximum distance" but it is also up to the player to prevent and neutralize the opponent's strengths, if you are not able to beat a ranger you may be weak you or your build is weak against that .. not necessarily Ranger OP.For example if you use a build without removals conditions and die against a Mirage or Necro it is your problemOnly Necro has a real disadvantage against distance classe nerfing sicem 1shot burst which takes 2 buttons to utilize doesnt count as nerfing ranger as a whole. no class should be able to pull that off with a passive unblockable on top of that. so if sicem ranger imo doesnt count as nerf, that means soulbeast as a whole has hardly gotten any nerfs at all since pof, with the exception of the latest GS changes. but the overall problem of soulbeast still remain. also, if you ever fought a really good reaper, you would know they dont have issues fighting long ranged classes at all. exceptions would be thief and mesmer, but anything else is pretty fair game honestly. also, i find it VERY telling most of you guys think all my proposals are ridiculous even in WVW balance. herrderr soulbeast is weak.. have you ever even fought a good one? i dont think most people have. im very used to hearing "youre the best soulbeast ive seen" or other soulbeasts telling me " i usually have an easy time against soulbeasts, except for you" etc. most people have no idea what they are capable of.
  20. Good point. Leave core, but keep slb stuff I mentioned. Reduce number of boons you get from merging. Increase merge skill cooldowns like dmg immunity. But overall healing and dmg on all classes should still be reduced tbh.

I think its more of that he sees the writing on the wall and would rather have a constructive forum post that the devs can be influenced by in order to stave off a massive nerf (see Rampage) and instead get small number tweaks. But it was almost time for Anet to start treating other professions after Ranger, Mesmer and Necromancer. All that made OP Boonbeast and Sniper Ranger got reworked or was removed. Ranger has been replaced by Spb, Weavers and Holos :) This from a PvP point of view, in WvW we cannot talk about balancing XD Necros atm are not the strongest class, and have far less sustain dmg and mobility compared to rangers thieves revs or guards. Also, i accept soulbeast / core ranger's role as a roamer / smallscale fighter rather than a blob fighter. That's what I like about it. Not every class needs a build for every game mode. If they can fill 2/4 of reasonable roles ( pve, pvp, wvw-blob, wvw-roam ) then that's fine, imo. Trying to balance every class to have a role in every game mode is impossible. Ranger has pvp and wvw-roam covered, and I'm ok with that. My ele/tempest can work in different modes, so i swap to it when I get in a group and don't already have a support. AND MY POINT IS.. Soulbeast is OVER-performing in wvw-roam / duels. doesn't necessarily need drastic nerfs, but here's what I would do: Increase WHAO cooldown to a base of 22 or 24 sec so it's 18 sec whilst traited, Reduce healing by 20%.Decrease boons from plasma to basic boons like protection, quickness fury, might aegis swiftness.Increase cooldown of dolyak stance to 40s.Moastance gives 50% boon duration, protection duration it applies is reduced by 20% (edit wrong number) Not saying that's enough , but a step in right direction. Maybe slightly less, perhaps. But it's a decent take imo.
  22. Hi. Soulbeast can supply itself with all the boons you need without help from others. Especially especially especially if you run the siamoth pet. Moastance> Shout elite > siamoth plasma >we heal as one > merge with pet > LB #4 for celerity sigil ( 5s quickness ). Bam, now attack enemy a few times and you'll have 25 might, 20 stab, protection, ~10 s quickness, and all boons for at least 5 seconds. Once you're running out of might, swap pet for quickness so you refresh boons > we heal as one > merge with new pet. Rinse and repeat :) you can do all this while using longbow!
