  1. If you plan on WvWing check WILD (EBAY) guild recruitment see if it interest you.Cheers / Welcome back
  2. There's a fair number of people that actually like the new map. Just because your server doesn't, doesn't mean that other servers don't enjoy it. As someone who server hops and has been on every US server, this is not correct. You have a handful (if that even) who like the BL and play it. That is why it's a total waste land, I try and go roam there and will go clear around the whole map and back to spawn camp and no one has capped anything back yet, it's THAT dead. Yet at the same time, 3 way blob fights on EBG and 2 way blob fights on the other BLs. Blobs only go to DBL when there is nothing else to cap and they only go to cap every thing and leave to go back to the other maps. If so many people like the map as you seem to think, where are these people? They like the map so much yet don't play it? As a someone who knows a number of full guilds playing almost exclusively on DBL, and never complaining about lack of action, I disagree with your assesment of the map. Buuuut, I'm playing on EU so maybe it's just yankees that ignore the map completely.Nah bro, NA small linked server my havok guild loves desert because it seems to be the best place for small fights 5-15 often...even tho its a pain also...so it depends on peoples views...the map is way to big for present pop.
  3. Simply put the Era before expansions called the Golden Age of WvW…(Tournaments Elysium).HOT the Era of decline.POF the Era of desolation.Mounts the Era of no return. Cheers
  4. Am on the link to FA and the present FA has been fun to be paired with.
  5. That 1 person held down red bl then for a few hrs last night lol alone.
  6. Am surprised to see Ehmry Bay wvw player even posting on here lol the squads ive been in are like 90% FA i thinkbut:I don't know mate, am from Ehmry Bay and FA has been fun on weekends. Helped TLC from FA on one of my first returning nights since may 2019...we got a lot of thanks for helping them out a few times with a bigger guild grp. I was in a squad/discord with 2 regular FA commanders this week...they were nice and weird all in one. You can join any guild grp mate but you'll only be able to play with other server guild grps when linked to that server...If you want an Ehmry Bay wvw guild group...I've been gone to long to know if there is anybody left. You can check us out if you want...WILD squirrels...I got a posting in the looking for guild page in this forum. Cheers
  7. FYI with the state of WvW..we are now very casual WvWers, I've come back from a May 2019 break to raid some weekends.Thank you to all havok grps that have coordinated with us over the years
  8. I absolutely agree with you that objectives should be a stronghold and that holding and maintaining them is the central feature of RvR. I've done far more scouting and defending than I've done attacking and some of my fondest memories are of holding off a map queue with 10 random pugs for hours on end - back before shield gens and siege damage creep and tactics. I'm one of those few people that smirks when players say it was impossible to kill catapults far back in the dredge cave in ebg with Wildcreek cannon. I spent hours on homebl every weekend weakening a t3 Hills for a zerg to take later. I miss bannering the keep lord because even though it seemed like a pain in the behind at the time, it actually prolonged the fight portion of a keep take instead of hours of siege only to have the fight last 5 minutes - or not happen at all because the enemy bail. I find straight up open field staring at each then charging like red coats to be boring, repetitive and the outcome to be predictable. The thing is, before HoT introduced all the nonsense we have now, objectives and the tools we had were just that - a tool and not the deciding factor in a fight by themselves. There needs to be a balance. When the environment or the game playing for us wins the fight, that is not balance. We are in a situation now where the game plays so much for us that the small group fights I used to love around towers are practically none existent. It's rare now I see equal numbers battling it out over a keep or tower, it's bring overwhelming numbers or don't bother for the most part. Edit: When I talk about player skill in an RvR mode I'm not just talking about 1v1 or blob v blob fighting. One of the beauties of the mode is that players who may not excel in that area for various reasons can still be very useful to their team. I know several gumpy old farts - which probably includes me at this point - that are far from the best in a fight, but they at least won't rallybot because their positioning is good. They excel in other areas though, like knowing how to counter siege. And I mean meaningful placement by the way, not just cramming as many ac's into an objective as you can. Or watching a map and knowing where the enemy is likely to be next, getting there before them to supply trap, cow and call out numbers. Having fought yous so many times, I can only respect you more for all this. I find it funny since I don't consider myself also anything great as a fighter just a group support attacker tanker why I prefer havoking to solo. After posting, I just happen to read the above post yours, and nostalgia to hear another old time rival feel the same way about the golden age of WvW so far. Cheers
  9. Just move Mounts to eotm and desert bl (biggest map) and I'd probably start playing regularly again until then am sticking to a very casual weekend warrior (1-2hr tops a week).Besides playing for fun with my havoc grp...there's no real reason to take anything seriously anymore in WvW...some WvWers can relate to putting a few more hours back in the old days for your server and server cronies...I miss server identity. Anyways why another what you want post, we can't all get what we want...I never wanted mounts so did most in my guild...but a lot on this forum like it be it old or new WvWers...the golden age was just before HoT. Provisioner, Pips system with legendaries and Squads have been the good upgrades over the course of the expansions that I can think of at short notice. Am a defeatist at this point don't mind me. Cheers
  10. Secondly thats like the best way to get free kills on blobbers. Lure them out and a few follow, you can easily turn around and attack them. If they try to mount up and head to blob safety, dismount them and pull them back. Just avoid the path of main blob. The best moments are when they all try to hunt you, because you're just that annoying... and thats where stealth, the warclaw mobility and perseverance come in. I wish I could get as many as 10 people for that. First, when your having fun with your guildmates/friends/server mates (with appropriate bathroom breaks) 5-8hrs isn't that long and the laughter and mental happiness...I know about the getting up every hr or so for blood circulation. I don't know why you so surprised many guild grps used to run long hours... Second point maybe for you it works but it doesn't for us anymore, I'll even explain it if you so desire but havock grps = annoying ;P yes.
  11. I agree on a lot of your points...gl reaching 2k don't think about it just enjoy your raids with all the bonus boosters you can add! And it will come eventually.Don't forget to always run the guild wvw exp booster!;)
  12. The simple fix mate is having the Warclaw only in EOTM and the Red Borderland (biggest map). My guild grp and guild friends always preferred havocking...but if you go to deep in enemy territory nowadays with 10 or fewer you can't run/fight away when the blob comes for you. Anyways we are a minority and thus after Warclaw we became a super casual wvw guild...I left for months...and now only log on for weekends (1-2 hrs)...not the 5-8hrs no stop raids. FYI restricting mounts to home territory is a bad idea since if a server has a lot of your land your in for a very hard retake with the enemy on mounts and you not...think about your ebg side all enemy capped...they can troll you on mounts hard. I know you've posted in the passed on this and other post but I doubt anything will be done...at this point either accept it or unfortunately more to other games (Ive mostly moved to witcher3, dark souls3, might try D3 soon) Cheers mate and a lot still feel like youSanji
  13. It's too bad because lag wasn't too bad before the warclaw came in.
  14. 2 reds fight 2 blues. They are evenly matched. A red goes down, but the blues trying to stomp are knocked back and the red is successfully ressed by some facetanking. The fight continues. A green comes in and... just sits there. On a mount. Watching. As both sides wear each other down, a blue goes down. The surviving one got stealth and stab ready, goes in for the res... and the green of course leaps in to stomp. Blue lost in an instant. Is this the type of fights we want? Really? With the stomp in place, there is no way to stop this. Its not like either side can attack the mounted, he'll just stay out of range. Being on a mount should instead lead to only being able to fight a mount (via dismount), not other players. If you can pose a realistic scenario where you need the mount stomp to win a fight and how it is good for the gameplay I'm all ears. Also why smallscale is worth being sacrified for that. There's no point reasoning with the zerging mass bro...WvW isn't WvW anymore.
  15. Sorry Z, I'll hopefully be around this weekend with yous...
  16. Usually Saturday is the busiest night for my havok grp, we usually pull 10-15 and we had 5...and the few times we followed the ebg tag...the fights were laggy in 2ways.
  17. Its gonna be a horse...its now all about the mounted calvary...foot soldier days are over so it seems...Battle Trample Maul...Horse Whine Sniff and Horse Tug Pull.thank you and good day.
  18. maps are always queue'd on reset, extra players is irrelevant. the lag has been there for months, but never this bad. EBG usually has it the worst but even on the alpine BL it was worse than SMC lag has ever been. it's fair to assume that the doubling of characters on the maps in the form of mounts is related, if not the cause. Wait until everyone has the mount...even this week we had some bad spikes at times.
