Content Preference Poll
Bladestrom.6425 replied to HnRkLnXqZ.1870's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
difficult to answer as poll is missing a number of options: WVW, PVP, Achievement and collection Hunting, build experimentation, Fashion. -
Definitely referring to wvw. The problem is not condy it is the fact certain classes can spew out many different conditions at the same time which should not be permitted in my view (and i play condy primarily) as its basically dictating that the target must be able to spam condy removal or they will be damaged heavily. RE above Mesmer is not just 4 at same time, on top of this you have sigils and relics etc.

The REAL reason people AFK ranked matches
Bladestrom.6425 replied to Buzzbugs.1236's topic in Player vs. Player
I think your right re stats, make it 0 for just being present, and add more types of top stats instead, including some reward like say1 pip for being in combat for 75% of battle duration when not dead, which means even new players can be rewards by trying hard. -
Is Elementalist really the weakest class out there?
Bladestrom.6425 replied to noneHotBuildTest.7251's topic in Elementalist
In PVP the problem is that cmc character clearly does not understand anything beyond melee and his precious cata that has ruined so much for ele. Look beyond cata and what do we have: - Sceptre main - poor condition dmg and bad condy coverage and no burst and and dragon tooth that does 2k dmg if it hits after hanging above the opponents head for a few seconds. AA also has no mainstrike condy. - Staff pvp - just nope or niche support. - Dagger, melee - Dagger off hand - melee - Warhorn - 1 slow fire field, 1 air spike every 24 seconds if you stack power/ferocity/condy at cost of all other stats. - Focus - defensive. - Hammer clunky, designed for..yes you got it Cata and combos. Total mess. They need people who don't just play meta to feed into the design process properly not this skewed view of the world. -
the answer is quite simply to buy them either with gold or gems. In GW2 you don't pay a sub, so that's the equivalent of buying 3 a month, and its good to invest in the game you play. I bought a couple with gold and a couple with gems over the last couple years until I had max. Edit: you can get 2 right now from the wizards vaults for the equivalent of a couple days play for free.

I would change magic find so it has an independent chance of getting an exotic drop or perhaps even rarer black lion key, something along lines of : for every +100% magic find gained you have a .1% chance of getting an additional exotic and an 0.01 chance of getting a black lion key. Numbers open for debate obviously and don't need to be high with the key thing being that you get a tangible rare bonus reward that's clear when it drops that its a reward for your magic gain level.

Essences are another Economy failure.

GW1 and GW2 has been centred on collections for 18 years and has been content for millions of players over this time. its not dressed as content it is content (that you may not like ofc) -
exactly. 3 lanes, bigger map, more significant gates and defence and 10 players per side works for me.

merely a fleshwound, i Jumped into a zerg in a keep last night and my overload was so powerful the entire keep exploded.

Heres the thing, Balancing done right means unbroken builds are either left untouched or improved, whereas overpowered build are tuned to bring into line with Power budget. The fundamental issue with some of the recent balance decisions is that they have failed in this regard. Ive personally had a couple of non meta underpowered but viable Builds ruined by unintended side effects by poor balancing decisions where clearly all stat combinations have not been considered for all weapons impacted by a change. 2 Things need to happen with balancing, Smaller faster more reactive changes, and better impact analysis on the side effects of changes.

How to remove afkers and bot rewards farmers during PVP.
Bladestrom.6425 replied to August.5934's topic in Player vs. Player
That doesn't prevent emo quitters, in fact it may motivate the more malicious of them That doesn't motivate players who just lost a evenly fought match game and got nothing for their time and effort (also against GW2 principles) That removes the incentive for players who play for the fun of it even when they are losing. That punishes new players. Not well thought out. -
This is the problem with Sceptre is that the amateur balancing in recent patches was clearly by someone fixated on Cata and/or power. Play Sceptre in PVP as pure condy (its a condy weapon, that should be viable) and 1k condy does almost nothing for the spec because: 1) AA was grossly under tuned 2) Dragon Tooth telegraphs to the whole world 'hey I'm attacking you with my big attack in a second or so' 3) Poor condy cover so burn is unlikely to tic for more than a few seconds.

Unless your a dps meter watcher ele is perfectly fine in pve and outputs numbers that are ample to kill everything apart from highly tuned raid bosses.

Anet can you stop your obsession with Cata maybe and stop neglecting all the other builds out there and/or repair the damage you done with your other cata patches.

exactly 50/50 eh, so if you want to take a risk, delete your account, otherwise don't. Your call player. You have already acknowledged a person deleting a char today would be responsible for that action, so lets compare: You X years ago X years ago you deleted your char, at the time there were good non cosmetic rewards such as the blaster. X years on the population is a lot richer, and the 9 year old reward is announced, its better (birthday cake) There was no metrics to say there will be a birthday cake in x years, because it wasn't planned at that point. A random person today Today someone deletes their character. Today the birthday cake is the cool useful utility. In 5 years Anet announces the 15 year gift will be an ascended birthday cake. The player doesn't get it, but he took responsibility for that action. There are no metrics to say there will be an ascended birthday cake in 5 years, because it isn't planned at this point. You agreed this would be the players fault in this case, therefore it was your fault 5 years ago by the same logic.
