  1. How can you say Rev can't have 25 might but you're allowing Holo and Spellbreaker to confidently have 25 might and literally do as much damage as Rev does? Whilst they have far superior sustain? It's funny that everyone is up for reducing powercreep and nerfing might uptime but when it's focused on their class they suddenly don't want it anymore. Your whole post smells biased, get a grip. because rev puts out the necessary dmg for it's role fine without it , and it is more mobile than both classes put together ... rev is literally insanely balanced now and has a condi counter so there's a trade off it can basically replace thief in higher levels but with a downside of less sustain vs condi classes vs thief's higher sustain across the board (why it's taken generally for it's role as a decapper). yet you're complaining about dmg that needed to be shaved on rev
  2. So with rev's ability to 1up holo/spellbreaker and kill faster than thief, you also want to nerf the duelist class on top of it? Stop, rev needed some shaves and nerfing other classes outside of your role won't revert them or make you feel better about it.
  3. ?? Toxicity exists in all games wayyy before teapot streamed gw2, lmao get used to it. You sort of proved my point there. Not because of comments like yours. You're getting the cart before the horse on the toxicity debate in MMO's. Just stop, it'll get you no where. Toxicity exists with or without Teapot, even though he's not even that toxic, but he can be so I'll give you that. If you don't think Gw2 doesn't have one of the best communities in the game , then you're sadly mistaken. It is by far one of the best communities to be in, and me being honest with reality here in terms of Gw2's marketing (or lack thereof) doesn't change that fact and is actually for the most part irrelevant from community aspects of the game anyway so you bringing it up is irrelevant to the actual discussion that this thread pertains to. Twitch plays a major role in a game's success now on a mainstream level, mmo's fall into a category where that is vital to it's success. We live in a different time unfortunately. Marketing has drastically changed since then. This is a debate that will go no where mainly because the people in here don't acknowledge reality, I know it sucks to see your mmo of choice dying, but it happens. Why do we spent time on this earth, each breath drawn being one closer to death? The "x is dying, accept it" is not an argument. Never has been, never will be. What does it add? What does it explain? Nothing. Nothing is more annoying to see than "hehe ded gaem" memery anywhere, because people will actually believe it. People who don't understand how the server system works, join an empty map and then cry they can't play the game because it's bad and everybody left a long time ago will also say this and they are partly to blame why that is such a meme now. Yes, the game is (((dying))), as goes for everything the second it launches or is born into this world. Twitch is not a means to measure an almost 7 year old game. If you wanted to make that argument, you'd look at Youtube much rather than Twitch. Much more people who play GW2 also watch Youtube. Even so, it doesn't even matter.Your post makes literally no sense. Youtube runs from a view count based system with a different philosophy of video structure than a live stream from a game with real-timer viewers. If you're referring to the Youtube Streaming side, then I can see your point, in which case you would further solidify my point even more. You basically agree with me that it's dying then? Then there was no point to respond.

  5. It's a dying game man, just embrace it. This is the path every mmo takes and is longer for some than others. Twitch is usually the best indication of a game's popularity and life outside of fighting games, which has a strong competitive scene (gw2 has literally almost 0 competitive esports scene). But you really don't even need to look at twitch to understand it. It's noticeable in the game in all game modes including raids now which I would say has the highest surge of population out of wvw, pvp and pve. Try not to look at the fact that it's dying as a negative or immediately take and go into a defensive stance. It's natural for MMO's so just accept that aspect of it. Also, we now live in a gaming era where Twitch actually does market the game for you and give it exposure, this is a fact... Honestly, I don't think gw2 even has the money to properly market this game themselves to newcomers. Twitch is honestly their only avenue for the most part outside of word of mouth marketing from current players (which is declining). So Twitch streamers for gw2 is actually really beneficial to them, losing a top streamer in their category is quite big. They don't get partnership deals for nothing, it's marketing. I will say they should add AFK progression mechanics to the game to help with dropping of population. It works for BDO but that is a different type of progression all together so not sure it would work here.
  6. Zeromis' existence proves that mesmer is far away from being useless trash as mesmers cry.As if there ever been any rival for team USA, regardless of what zeromis play they will win even without him. Good example /sHey, we all make excuses ... Zeromis practiced a lot to get where he was , you just complain on the forums It's cool
  7. Evades weren't seen? s/d existed then, sword/torch axe/dagger condi rangers existed hammer spam warriors, cele eles - brain dead bullshit, cele engi - broken damage, condi and utility , shout warriors - most broken node fighter, dhuumfire necro, spirit rangers these were all for the most part brainless and disgusting they just chose the wrong path in trying to fix those things, and made it worse. don't confuse good design/better design with nostalgia. most esports teams figured this out quickly and left, shortly after they changed the tournament team/solo queue system and in that moment it destroyed the game mode and has never been the same since. i do obviously agree with what you're saying though, but it was not better in vanilla .. was the same just on a smaller scale. they should have fixed it correctly and taken a different approach before HoT even came out during 2013 balance.
  8. In the context of PvP: Mesmer is a difficult class to balance, along with thief. I think those 2 coupled with ranger are the 3 hardest classes to balance in the game, but the top 2 are mesmer and thief because of their unique style over every other class. They really have no direction in a general balancing sense. I say ranger only because you can put a base ranger into a match, equip a longbow on him and people will still complain even if he doesn't have an amulet and utilities. People just hate the class which in turn makes balancing difficult on it. Anyways, They need to buff portal , since thief has a duo portal that also gives invis now. Honestly revert Chrono re-work, whatever idea they have for this Chrono needs to be reverted and take it back to the drawing board and look at small adjustment / increases instead of re-working an entire elite spec in the name of "tradeoffs". Chrono got destroyed and EM needed to be nerfed, let's be real here. That trait was probably one of the most broken traits next to improvisation - which still remains yet to be nerfed actually which is surprising, and will most likely be nerfed very soon and it will kill S/D thief basically because that one trait basically carries meta thief atm. I don't agree with how they nerfed EM though, let's keep in mind thief got that same exhaust treatment on top of a "swipe" nerf which killed DD builds entirely, atleast you can still run mirage. It's just not AS easy as it used to be, it was brain dead before. Comparing will get you no where, thief has been nerfed and adjusted 2-fold over what mesmer has seen, but it doesn't appear like it has because it has such a unique gameplay pattern in the context of PvP and has had more build exposure than mesmer.. Besides, they both fill 2 entirely different roles and the only reason mesmer complains about thief is because Ectoplasm exists. Counters should exist in the game. It's healthy. They should buff core mesmer and undo what they did to Chrono, buff little things ... How is it a tradeoff when you literally destroy an entire elite spec and give nothing in return? It's just classic pigeonhole balance. Also rampage should have seen a stronger nerf, there is not a skill even on ranger that I've seen in the game that is more of an epitome of brain dead keyboard spamming carry than rampage. It's very nature is just horrible design.
  9. PRe-game: Smoke a lot of weedPre-Match: Block everybody, assess classes in matchIn-Match: dominate kids or lose from bad matchmaking or poor personal performancePost-Match: EZ Clap in shout chat on win , if lose report everybody on the opposing team and then leave Helps keep that spark alive, if you know what I mean
  10. It's an ironic question, because right now they don't, and is the prime reason we're in this situation to begin with. They don't make these spammy builds for top players, because top players can micro and understand classes and are able to player harder classes. They force simplistic builds into becoming metas to cater to casuals in an attempt to allow newcomers to come in. This is an obvious thing... They just simply don't balance around top players. I mean for people talking about driving population away... LoL balances around the competitive scene not around casuals. This is why champions are drastically different between divisions. While I know you can't compare to the 2 games, you can compare balance as a mindset around the objective. Either way though people get it confused though and a lot of people in here are saying the population is down because of balance... the matchmaking is where it drives the people away and taking away essential things that PvP used to have that kept the population here are gone now. These were more general directions the developers took in trying to form a route for THEIR vision of PvP as a whole (and not the playerbase's vision, essentially ignoring them) in this game that drove a lot of people away, not just balance. It's just one small part of the problem and I would say they focus too much on that instead of fixing those core issues.
  11. Considering fire Weaver wins most 1v1s before the patch and they got a HUGE buff up primordial stance. They will most likely be the next top dog on the side node. The biggest counter to fire weavers were continued power pressure. With revs (and to a lesser extent core guard) getting nerfs, they will be pushed even further into the meta. This. @ZhouX.8742 Kinda ironic to say other people are clueless about PvP when you've obviously never got rekt by a good fire weaver before. And it actually doesn't look like staff weaver was even nerfed, upon further inspection. I thought it was at first, too. But a few people did some calculations that seem about right and it looks like if anything staff weaver was very slightly buffed, assuming they maintain 10 might stacks for the +300 power from the fire master trait.Sage weavers are meta basically , you can do FA Weaver but it's for fun essentially... I know plenty of good eles, but that doesn't make the class OP. There's a difference between a class performing well for a role and then it being OP in which you literally would never bring anything but Ele because it outperforms everything else - that is OP for it's role... Ele is not in this OP position, Spellbreaker exists and Ele is not even considered the top duelist spec. Is it good? When played right it is very good, but I'd rather have every class be very good when played right than have what we have right now. Stop trying to nerf every single little thing because it may perform well for it's role and misusing the word OP and just throwing it around half hazardly.
  12. not many run power mes, spellbreaker boon removal is kinda easy to dodge (biggest is dagger burst, no one really runs break enchantments). necro and teef will get you.all of this is not really relevant tho dood. yes some guys will get memebeasts boons. most of the time tho its easy to get the burst off with mad range or stealth attacks. this is about getting rid of the garbaggio builds out there that ruin game play for everyone. do you think its ok to have a trait that doubles might with one button press? i got you man, my bad also about mixing up the heal with the trait i was thinking of something different
  13. Is there a possibility you could make an additional endpoint for pvp/game? To match the pvp/games convention. Each match having an ID parameter tied to a player, linked with this data about a match and individual player information tied to that match: A. {gameid} would output: Which team wonPlayers in the game (id's of each player)Overview of classMap playedRanked/UnrankedB. {gameid/playerid} Drawing down to individual player output: Win Or LossAll noticeable stats (healing done, damage taken, damage done, caps, typical stats you'd see at the bottom in the end of the match for example)Class, Amulet and build usedUtilities usedRanked/UnrankedPips lost / gainedIs this possible to do? It's because I was planning on building something similar to OP GG as part of a personal project for my academy. Also I realize this data is only available via Account API with PvP permissions, is there plans at all to make the data public via a general API key for 3rd party platforms to build upon? Thanks
  14. edit Yea my apologies, for some reason I was thinking of the shout heal copying boons over for 20+ might and then utilizing UN. For boon removal... There's annulment which is 2 ... Mesmer, spellbreaker, rev, necro, thief can all remove boons... Boons aren't AS much of an impact anymore like they used to be. in PvP esp when annulment came out. The culprit in survivability is mostly the plethora of blocks, invulns and evade frames flying around. Even more blocks now with SB out of the picture and rev dmg dropped and unblockables removed, welcome to bunk meta.
  15. It's also funny how you define sustain by how much evasion each class... Not everything else in Mirage's kit btw Shows truly how much you literally know nothing about sustain and it's forms in PvP Smh
  16. Are you really comparing mesmer sustain to thief sustain?I didnt compare anything, if he think 4s evade-dps mode is fine, just invul for ~1-3s avg is would be pretty fair. Its been calculated that core s/d thief has highest evasion uptime compared to weaver and UNNERFED mirage with 1s MC, now mesmer evasion is faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar behind. Not sure why you brought it here, even Sind said DS shouldnt be recharged by improv and there is nothing "skilled" about it this elite, want to argue with him as well ?I don't give a shit what Sindrener says lmao If you nerf DS then you nerf the only thing that keeps thief actually playable in top end PvP and basically relegates to a literal decap bot which ironically is the only reason it's in PvP at the moment is it's decapping potential anyway , not double DS btw. You should understand the difference between it being a non-skilled elite vs it being the ONLY elite that's viable for thief. What do you expect people to run for an elite as a thief? It's the only logical choice since everything else was nerfed. If you actually knew thief, you'd know this.
  17. Are you really comparing mesmer sustain to thief sustain?
  18. There is no problem with it.. Do'nt feed the troll. He just hates ranger. Read some ranger nerf thread to see it. wow you guys are clueless.how is doubling might with one button press a good idea? its one of the top reasons soulbeast meme builds exist.Ok as a soulbeast though you'll either be doing 2 things Facing a 1up from a boon steal larc strike and already fighting a SB on point who is ripping your boonsIn a team fight on node against a scourge and firebrand. too with a potential 1up on thief as well Annulment exists, as well , which almost every meta runs. While those boons are great on paper, what made those boons even matter/appear busted was the fact you had an unblockable on a low cooldown. So you're putting those boons to use without barely any counterplay before outside of LOS / invuln. Now with the new patch there is counterplay making these boons potentially useless in terms of an offensive approach. Defensive approach is meh, considering we get vigor from many sources anyway and protection is laughable in this burst meta. Fresh Reinforcement is simply not a problem, especially now and I will straight up say, if anybody is complaining about ranger after this UN nerf , then you basically just need to get better because no matter how many nerfs they give to Soulbeast at this point it will probably never help them beat them if they don't understand them.
  19. Outside of adding a 1s global cooldown between shade skills I actually can't imagine any nerfs necromancer specifically needs. It's exceptionally strong in the right circumstances but also very limited in it's role and what it can do with a very specific niche. That's how every build should be. So still FB + 2 scourge every game. This patch won’t change a thing. Except we will see more eles. And how are buffs to guardians needed?? Are they even playing this game mode. Last nail in the coffin I’m afraid. Idk. I've played 100 plat 1-2 games and while scourges and reapers on both teams aren't uncommmon Firebrands on either team feel very uncommon. People don't queue on Firebrand, even top tier PvPers, because playing Firebrand or dedicated support in general just makes you so dependent on everyone else on your team actually performing their roles. At this point Firebrand feels like an Automated Tournament only build. Yes, you are right. What I meant was that the meta won’t change. Also Buffing already strong classes won’t help the balance of this game.. No top tier spec was specifically buffed. Firebrand+Scourge will remain strong in ranked but that's about it. Except weaver which is arguably top tier for sidepoint 1v1s. People are definitely sleeping on condi weaver, but I wouldn't call it obvious top tier the way Firebrand+Scourge+Herald are for MATS, and Spellbreaker+Holo+Scrapper+Soulbeast+Herald are for ranked. If you think you're going to see soulbeast after destroying it basically without giving anything back , then you're mistaken. It's pretty much out of meta at this point and will only provide super super niche roles aka no longer a meta option. Holo got significant nerfs as well, I just don't think it'll be that good This alone makes weaver much better in positions than it used to be, on top of the buffs it received for duelist weaver - I guarantee you it'll be an option now.
  20. OP Ele? i can't lol This forum is so clueless about actual PvP it's no wonder the balance patches are so horrible Please anet, start taking advice only from top players and hire an actual balance team , although it's likely too late at this point.
  21. Dropping wilderness survival in this meta is simply not worth it. Marksmanship is literally a meme full power trait line and a major reason why this class gets complained about, because it can push out good damage, but they don't understand the flipside of your survivability trade off is 100% for even hitting higher numbers. You are a walking target aside from necro because it's obvious if you're running opportunity buff icons on your bar, then you're most likely not running WS aka easy burst down. This is obviously fine , for the most part there should be trade offs in survivability for higher dmg, the issue with ranger is you don't do near as much dmg as other classes consistently and one cleave from WI or maul isn't enough with res capability now no matter how many once-every-30second trait modifiers you setup beforehand (blocks, evade, invuln exist too , blocks even more now). Also @"Trevor Boyer.6524" "AoO 25%, MoC 50%, Remorseless 25% = +100% damage modifier for a given Maul or WI. I warned everyone, been warning you for months." - This is not efficient in higher level play or against people with brains unless you're 1upping. Nevertheless, it will be complained about and requested to be nerfed heavily because unfortunately casuals will be victims to this setup and immediately clamor to the forums to cry for nerfs. So expect that coming soon. I'm sure there's already numerous threads on it anyway so lol
  22. Scrapper is now better than druid was before it received any nerfs. The ancestral grace nerf just literally makes no sense, i can see unstoppable union of course. But druid? Lol , it's like they didn't know what else to add so they just threw that in there, i mean it could be a PvE intended change for whatever reason but then wouldn't make sense that there wasn't a split. Ranger will still be complained about.
