  1. I was expecting the Elite to be called Chalice of Corruption.
  2. Every EoD profession so far seems to be inspired by Wuxia in one way or another, so I guess the thief will go with Ninja magic or something similar.
  3. I suspect it will be a "Princess Mononoke" Spec with Mystical Pets and in conflict with Cantha's industrialization and modernity.
  4. The dress of the Asura harbinger looks to be inspired by Korean clothes, particularly the hat (Gat), although don't think real ones include a plume. I wonder if they have taken different moves from different traditions of martial arts for each profession with the Harbinger being inspired by Korean martial arts.
  5. I think that Paladin, Palatinate, Pretorian, Lifeguard, or similar would be better names for an Elite Spec inspired by royal guard. Granted, none of these are particularly Asian, but then you could have a Varangian guard situation where the Emperor trust lone Kurzicks or Luxons warriors as bodyguards more than Canthans because the Canthan nobility got too scheming and murderous while Kurzicks/Luxons can be executed without repercussion if they asssassinate the Emperor.
  6. I could see the Virtuoso evolving due the needs for entertainment of Canthan Nobles, particularly of those who fancy war and martial stuff, who, with at least a century of peace in an united, if repressive, Cantha, became bored state bureaucrats with no enemies to fight anymore and any true martial tradition relegated to ceremony and duels.
  7. https://www.guildwars2.com/en/end-of-dragons/ Notice the jade-infused cyberarm on that Canthan engineer.
  8. I think the the Necro is not the bullet one but the flask one. It has "evil eye" sort-off feel like just screams necromancer with a flask of souls to me. The Guardian could be the bullet one.
  9. It makes me thing of a Kurzick-inspired Witch/Vampire-Hunter or something with that hat. I wonder If we'll get a Luxon-inspired Warrior or an Engineer.
  10. At least the presence of Norn is hinted at in the Sunqua Peak Fractal. The women soldier, Hyo-Sonn, serving among the Imperial troops is described in the letters and she sounds suspiciously similar to a Norn adopting Canthan culture (A Norn Larping as a Samurai classical Oni/Ogre?). The ascended trinket "Totem of the Gorilla" may be a Canthan Spirit of the Wild.
  11. Every dragon so far has show opposite traits with the dragon on the other one side of The All. Sometimes these traits are antagonistic, sometimes they are complementary. Jormag vs Primordus is the most direct and the strongest example, with Jormag having dominion over ice and persuasion, and being characterized a schemer who favoured targeting people's egos to corrupted them, while Primordus' domain was fire, and he was characterized as a mindless brute with its minions being driven by primitive, collective intelligence. You could argue that Zaithan and Mordremoth followed a similar pattern with Zaithan having dominion over death while Mordremoth had a dominion over life and both were into empire-building. Only Kralkatorrik stands alone, with dominion over Crystal and Fury, but also it seems he was related to prophecy with Glint. My hypothesis is that Bubbles (S) will be Kralkatorrik's opposite. Both stand on opposite sides of The All. As others have already pointed out, we have already been presented with hints that imply that Bubbles is related to memory. In addition, if the Saltspray dragons from Cantha (Kuunavang and Albax among them) are related with Bubbles, then Bubbles could also have powers over luck and fate manipulation.
  12. I'm talking about the spirit bird that flies off from Braharm body at Champion's End. Of course, it could be Eagle, or Raven instead.
  13. Isn't it briefly hinted that owl is back during the Champion's End epilogue?
  14. I'd like him to be one who suggest us to go to Cantha. The Commander asks him directly if he has figured out more than he lets on given his role as Voice of Jormag.
  15. Shadowsteps behind you "Nothing personal, kid. "
  16. The Kurzicks, alongside their archenemies, the Luxons, were once one of the two vassals people of the Canthan Empire. They used to be described as very devout and religious people that saw everything as a portent or divine message from the human gods and their saints. They used to be organized as a church-state and lead by the Council of Nobles and their Great Houses, each Great Houses having its own patron god and patron saints, who were usually an ancestor of that house. And while all of this may be moot given that they could have been fully absorbed into Canthan culture by GW2, I wonder how Kurzick responded to Kormir's apotheosis and, maybe, the Balthazar's fall from grace. Would Kormir's ascendance meant the rise to power of a new Great House with Kormir as their patron? Would have they been welcomed among the rest of the houses, or would they have been seen as mere upstarts and heretics by the other houses, possibly leading to a religious and political schism within the Kurzick church-state, weakening them and making them easier prey to Emperor Usoku? Could the downfall of Balthazar, assuming they are aware of it, also meant the downfall of House Vasburg as well?
  17. Because an arquebus would be classed as a rifle in GW2, and therefore the ninja sharpshooter you refer to would be a Deadeye. Of course. I was merely pointing out that real ninjas would gladly used guns, if given half the chance, so did Samurais, Ashigaru, and Sōhei Monks ( Saika Ikki monks being renowned gunsmith) in Japan during Sengoku period (15th and 16th centuries). As for Elona, I was disappointed to see no examples of undead musketeers among Palawa Joko's armies. But then, again, the Zaishen, particularly Zafirah went around with what it looks like a 20th century bolt action rifle.
  18. In 1571, a ninja sharpshooter attempted to assassinate Oda Nobunaga with with two arquebuses fired in a row. If ninjas used guns in real life, why cant assassins in Guild Wars?
  19. Maybe you could make horses in armor and be given higher HP and skills similar to the raptor. Of course, you could go all memelord and make horses the first LEGENDARY Mount capable of flying, walk over water, swim, teleport, and breath fire.
  20. Only if I get a Canthan ship of the line / ironclad as my home instance.
  21. The classical archetype of the blind ronin samurai is the perfect match for the revenant. Therefore one that carries a greatsword be a Tengu or a Norn.
