  1. There are far more important things to regret, yet they've apparently never done so.
  2. "Your suffering shall never end, Ghost of Sparta..." Wait. Wrong universe.
  3. During the pre-boss phases, she takes damage from any enemies around/attacking her, in addition to enemy siege that spawns in the zone. During the boss phase, her (focus?)HP is draining throughout the fight. While I cannot be sure about this, her dialogue when the boss spawns infers the amount of focus she needs to spend keeping the boss vulnerable to our attacks is such that it drains her HP doing so. That being said, she can probably still get damaged by any attacks from the boss and any minions they summon, necessitating the constant funneling of essence to keep her going (and thus why players getting down en masse is bad, since it can easily snowball.)
  4. League of Legends is a MOBA, and as such has PvP as the main focus. GW2 is an MMO, and does not.
  5. Toxicity. Pretty much a given with PvP regardless of what game. Match Manipulation. No, not something like a player just sitting out a lost game, things like wintrading, rigging matches with certain players/professions for certain outcomes, playing at specific times, or having a mole/feeder on the opposing side. Skill/stat splits. I won't pretend that it isn't an issue, but it's a minor one. Constant imbalance between the professions. Or so I keep reading about. I'm admittedly not qualified to say how true it is, but I don't doubt it. And finally, because this is an MMO, and as such PvP is all but an oxymoron here. It can work as a side mode, but never the main mode. The limitations of the skills available (and/or your profession) means that more often than not, numbers will beat skill. This applies even more so in WvW. Ironically, the change to the Wizard's Vault for dailies helped kill off incentive to participate in the PvP/WvW modes even more. And that's what I can think of at this moment. Edit : One more. As someone in another thread of yours pointed out, there's no real comeback mechanics in PvP, and this is something I've learned from my admittedly limited/outdated experience. Once a team gains a lead of around 100 points or so, they're basically set as long as they don't massively screw up or someone disconnects or starts throwing. This isn't to say comebacks don't happen, but they were often too rare to be worth wasting more time for.
  6. There are far more (influential) reasons to stay out of PvP besides the skill/stat splits.
  7. Well darn, I was going to say souls of the forsaken, but that takes the metaphorical cake.
  8. No. This serves no purpose other than making map completion take longer (or nigh impossible in the case of SoTO), which is not a solution to anything. My big chungus skyscale rejects you and your bad idea. Begone bookah.
  9. Looks around. Long sigh. I see my choice to leave this mode for dead remains wise after so long.
  10. 1 : Don't care, don't want it. Optional subscriptions lead to the developer/publisher trying as much as they can get away with to incentivize it if not outright inconveniencing players that don't have it. 2 : And what happens if you have more than your base storage allows? What if you have more characters than the base slots allow? They get locked? Deleted? I wouldn't risk using the extra stuff anyways then. 3 : So pay more money on top of the money already being spent...or just buy the slots and storage outright without the subscription. I can even convert gold to gems to not waste money on it, so...yeah, not seeing any advantage for your "proposal". Having seen what happens in games that do have optional subscriptions, I see no reason to believe things wouldn't change. They'd want to incentivize that crap as much as they think they could get away with. I haven't forgotten when they tried to remove the custom gem exchange, and reverted the change after severe backlash. Your proposal offers no benefit that cannot be already obtained, and opens the gate to worse ideas and practices. Take the dead horse back into whatever ditch you found it in.
  11. Long sigh. No. Take this "proposal" back to whatever alternate reality you dragged it from.
  12. Why should there be hype? I'd rather wait and see what it gives first. After the utter meh that was SoTO, and even plenty of disappointing/annoying content before that, there's no reason to get hyped now. Only the land spears and the chance to finally explore Janthir would entice me, and given how they made even map exploration more tedious even back during HoT, that has lost its appeal as well.
  13. No. A wasted effort on a mode that was never going to prosper.
