  1. I have to disagree with you, let's start by the very basis, the definitions. -Hunter: a person or an animal that hunts animals for food or for sport (HUNTER | definition in the Cambridge English Dictionary) -Ranger: a person whose job is to protect a forest or natural park (RANGER | definition in the Cambridge English Dictionary) The two things aren't interchangeable as you can see, therefore they are two completely different things so don't mix them up please, I ask you again not to do it. Currently Deadeye, Rifle Warrior and Rifle Engineer are more fitting as big game hunters as for definition above, hunters are not attuned to nature but Rangers do. There is really no point in continuing this argument, black powder is against balance, you can double check asking a Kodan, they will teach ya. Good bye
  2. What I mean is it's going to be worse once the Harbinger goes live. I actually agree with the Necro nerf
  3. Necro is strong and with Harbinger it will also be a very mobile roamer. So for the moment, beat them from a distance. Soulbeasts and Deadeyes in the hands of a trained player can eat Necromancers for breakfast.
  4. The game is not balanced on 1vs1 and I highly doubt the developers would be interested in a game mode balanced on duels. If you want to do 1vs1 you can currently do it in the guild hall arena, WvW, PvP instances but be aware that these game modes are balanced separately so pick your favourite.
  5. No it doesn't. Greatswords are not industrial weapons, there are notable Rangers fighting with GS in fantasy tabletop games with a deeper immersion and lore than GW. You are mistaking Hunters for Rangers, that's the issue.
  6. It's strong against players who don't know how to counter them. Blindness and projectile disruption counter them hard and they are squishy as they run on berserker gear usually.
  7. Hunters and Rangers are two different things, and I hope they stay separated in the future. You already have 2 bows and 1 staff in your arsenal, that's plenty enough. "Rangers rely on a keen eye, a steady hand, and the power of nature itself. Unparalleled survivalists with traps, nature spirits, and a stable of loyal pets at their command, rangers can adapt to any situation."
  8. The point is this is not WoW where big game hunters are common in the lore, GW2 rangers are attuned to nature. You already have Soulbeast as a ranged DPS, you can actually press a button and hit harder than a rifle DE. Oh the irony...One button killers in WvW are still broken. This will continue until soulbeast gets nerfed of course. Guild Wars 2 Sic Em Soulbeast Solo Roaming: Absolutely Disgusting Oneshots - YouTube As it is right now, Ranger can both burst from range Rapid Fire - Guild Wars 2 Wiki (GW2W) and stealth Hunter's Shot - Guild Wars 2 Wiki (GW2W) It doesn't need another ranged weapon like rifle.
  9. I feel pistol and rifles don't belong to Ranger, black powder suits Warriors and Thieves best
  10. Core is still viable. DH is currently viable only thanks to trapper runes. I wouldn't include this into consideration because if Anet took trapper runes away from PvP tomorrow my claim wouldn't be true and the viability should be reflected on the traits, not the upgrades. The current issue with Guardian in PvP is mobility, it's quite slow. Firebrand is not viable, you can ask any top PvP player about this. Still nowhere as viable as necro in PvP though
  11. I highly doubt you, as a thief, would get easily kicked from Cold War which holds the most mastery points. I have unlocked all masteries months ago and I haven't been a regular in strike missions. You won't have any issues, keep working on it. If you are having a hard time finding a squad for strikes buy a commander tag and profit.
  12. There are currently 2 Elder Dragons alive and one of them is Aurene. Even if there were none the Mist war would continue for resources, glory and territorial control. A treaty of peace between worlds would mean the end of GW2.
  13. In terms of flexibility, meaning viability in all game modes I would say Necromancer. In PvE Necros can hard carry a whole squad with their barriers and healing and they can dish an insane amount of damage as well. In PvP Necros are very strong, you can double check by reading all the complain threads in the PvP forums. In WvW Necros are an essential part of a Blob with their well ability, the tanky aspect and the damage and they are also strong roamers. In Open world they can solo champions and bounties that require a party of 5. Let's debunk the myth about Guardian being the most flexible because their viability in PvP is one of the worst compared to other professions.
  14. You guys forgot we are getting Strike mission CMs in EoD and WvW alliance feature. I think it's too early to sum things up and do a fair comparison. We can only do this after the EoD release, but not before because not everything has been revealed or tested yet so further investigations are futile.
  15. I still claim camps in solo with my glass cannon thief but you can play WvW in solo easily. Ask in team chat if there is a commander tag you can join to claim camps, keeps and towers and make a lot of WvW exp or look for a map which has the outnumbered boon and claim camps and kill dolyaks. Meanwhile look for another guild which is more active in WvW. This are the best advices I can give you.
  16. I have to disagree, the best gift the developers can give to me is their hard work on making GW2 a better game. I am happy with the current gem store offers. They gave away 2 exp boosters for free and the basic home instance nodes at 30% off.
  17. If you want to see less DH in PvP ask for a Firebrand buff to make it viable because right now it's not
  18. Yes, as soon as I get that Magical Girl scepter skin I am definitely going to make a male Norn in a Sailor Moon cosplay with it with the longest beard there is and call it Bunny
  19. I wouldn't like to see airships again but from the trailer it's going to be it and by the angle taken in the cinematic I think it's going to be Lion's Arch again. It's probably already all cemented in stone right now as the staff is probably busy working on the next elite specs to reveal next and I really want to see what's going to be the thief's one.
  20. There is no equivalent, so next time it comes back on sale in the gem store I highly suggest you to buy it as some charms and symbols you get from greens are worth more than ectos
  21. First step: -Put all your unidentified gear inside an invisible bag, this way when you split the stacks and select the option "salvage all...(blues/green/rare) gear" you will only salvage the items you identified outside your invisible bag without risking to salvage unidentified gear and it makes the process much faster, especially when you have bulks of 250 UG in your inventory to identify. Second step: Copper salvage o-matic or basic sk -> blue gear Runecrafter's salvage o-matic ->green gear with upgrades on them (sigils or runes for example) Silver fed salvage o-matic or master sk -> rare gear or exotic gear worth less than 30s When you get exotic gear always have a look at the TP price, if an exotic you have is worth 50 or more silver sell it on the TP. You have a very very very rare chance to identify a precursor weapon as well or a rare exotic worth good gold and used for collections. This is why it's always worth having a look.
  22. First of all your friend should log in in the Support website ( Guild Wars 2 Support ) and check his/her ticket if it has been answered by the support team. If that didn't happen than he/she should send another ticket with the confirmation code explaining he/she didn't get any answer.
  23. Sincere condolences to the family, rest in peace Treliss. Thinking of all of you who have lost your friend ❤️
  24. I think you should consider opening these sort of threads in the Lore section next time. It was confirmed by the devs EoD is not going to be the end of GW2 so never underestimate the creativity of a writer, because in my opinion there is enough lore to be explored to make at least 3 more expansions. If you want to know more about lore you can consider playing GW1 and reading the wiki.
