  1. I hope Anet commits itself into fixing bugs and preventing players from using exploits, this is not the only one I am aware of. Exploits honestly make players like me, who play honestly without exploiting bugs, to lose interest for WvW.
  2. From a long time roleplaying, MMO gaming and tabletop gaming experience I think Anet doesn't know what to do with Elementalist. This profession doesn't have a firm identity and the Catalyst is just one of many proofs to my argument. The profession should be scrapped entirely and replaced by a mage/sorcerer because GW2 doesn't have a single profession which gives the feeling of playing a traditional Spellcaster. As an Elite spec concept swords and longbows make sense to me, hammer does not. Hammer requires heavy Strength and also Stamina, two requirements that Elementalist doesn't have at all. I like the game but some professions and Elite Specs feel too out of place for me. I was done playing Elementalist a few months ago when I quitted playing this weird profession that also brings nothing to group content unlike other professions like Revenant and Guardian.
  3. It's still a No No from me. I don't like the hybrid Melee/Ranged on Catalyst. The new E Spec just proved to me that Anet doesn't have a clue what to do with Elementalist. They might as well scrap the profession entirely and replace it with Mage/Sorcerer, it would make more sense in my opinion. My Ele will still collect dust or being used as a bank character until something interesting comes up in the future.
  4. This game just doesn't have a real wizard/mage profession, that's all there is. Hammer on Ele only adds flame to the fire to prove it
  5. You can either wait until Anet wastes all the melee weapon implementations to the Elementalist profession and cross your fingers to get a decent ranged E spec or you can quit playing this profession right now. Your choice matters. I already did mine, my Elementalist is collecting dust until something interesting is released.
  6. The best choice I did so far in GW2 was quitting playing my Elementalist. Best choice ever! No Regrets. Another Melee mage instead of choosing to implement the brave concept of Arcane mage or Longbow...😟
  7. There is no need to implement diminishing returns into this game because stunbreaks, stability, condi removal and Resistance exist. Some professions actually need more CC, especially Thieves. More CC=better gaming experience overall in all modes. I have seen zergs of pugs who struggle to break a blue bar many times, not just in PvE, so CC is actually lacking.
  8. I have the opposite concerns that Anet may buff some of the builds I play instead of nerfing them 😁 No I would not be afraid to share my builds, I certainly don't make videos with my main killing a swarm of players in PvP or WvW and I am not even interested in becoming popular this way. I have witnessed players boasting about how OP a certain build was when in reality it was perfectly counterable and roughly balanced and those builds have been hit with a nerf rendering them not viable anymore. It's not the right thing to do. If certain builds have to be hit by the nerf hammer they should still be considered viable even at the highest PvP ranks, otherwise you can't call it balance.
  9. If your friend wanted to play FF14 for one year it would cost him14.99 dollars a month or 179.88 dollars a year. If your friend wanted to play NW it would cost him 40 dollars for the standard edition compared to PoF+HoT+Standard Gw2 game which is periodically on offer at 50% discount, and you also have to take into account that you will have to pay for NW expansions in the future and the game has less content than GW2 being new. It looks to me that your friend had no reasons to think that paying for GW2 was a bad deal, because if he bought the Ultimate edition of PoF using the 4000 gems to get his living world season content and preordering the standard edition of EoD he would have spent much less than the other competitors in the market. He missed a chance to join millions of players and buying a product with a huge amount of content to play. His loss. You don't have to feel regrets for your friend, it was his choice, not yours.
  10. I like the idea of using fish as a crafting material for disciplines, the fish oil and other parts could also see a lot of crafting. Well, I am and I am seriously considering spending money on EoD just to have a break from chopping heads and stabbing monsters by doing fishing with some friends. And if it will be possible to go fishing by sitting down on a chair it would also be even more enjoyable.
  11. I think Chilled is strong as it is, no need to make it OP with further buffs. Stability is ok as it is, it offers counterplay to some conditions
  12. What if fishing was actually a very good activity for gold farming and had exclusive rewards like unique items and novelties? Would you still look down at it? I wouldn't
  13. New World is a game destined to fail, wait and see. My predictions are correct most of the time. WvW on the other hand will see a revival in player population with Alliances, EoD and other things that haven't been revealed yet.
  14. What I find absurd is the current state of PvP being dominated by Necromancers and Engineers and the counter to them is more CC. I would welcome stunlock mechanics because GW2 offers balance through stability and stunbreaks. The latter is not as bad as in other games where these mechanics do not exist or are very limited to 1 use per minute. Engineers and Necromancers are broken against enemies without CC or area denial. I would buff Thieves to be able to stunlock like rogues in WoW just to see the current Meta being counterable, there are some professions that would be immortal if CC and stability never existed and this is actually a good time to bring some balance into the game.
  15. The game is not a job, I will do whatever I like to do. I don't have any plans, I play to have fun, that's the most important thing to do. Real life commitments are more important things to plan in my opinion.
  16. You can count good commanders with the fingers of your hand these days. It may sounds extreme but a good commander definitely makes a difference between losing to a smaller blob and winning against 2 huge blobs 100% of the time.
  17. My Daily routine is the following: 1. Fractal dailies+Recs 2. Crafting items to trade for provisioner's tokens 3. Home instance gathering 4. Pact Supply Network Agent, trading Karma for map materials (6) 5. Converters to transform ascended crafting materials/karma/HoT currencies into gold 6. WvW dailies and rank up 7. Various activities
  18. I would say 100% chance. You have to work hard to earn your Legendaries
  19. They hate Thieves already because of the amount of blinds and stealth, haters gonna hate always, I wouldn't care about them
  20. The best Thief design I have seen so far in my life, comparing all the MMO I have played, is the WoW Rogue class. Thieves in GW2 are badly designed to be easy to play and with a limited amount of survival tools and they can be countered hard by engineers. Not to mention the latter finds a spot in WvW squads for being able to cloak in shadows an entire blob while Thieves can only stealth themselves. If Anet reworked the core Thief profession I would be very happy, because right now it doesn't feel strong, although D/P DD gives the illusion that Thieves are strong but we can't really judge a profession to be strong just for a one trick pony build that's purely annoying and doesn't even finds a spot in blobs/PvP/competitive PvE
  21. Druids in D&D reject technology and firearms, every game has its own philosophical view on each profession/class. Because Rangers can spec into Druids and they are attuned to nature in this game I would prohibit allowing them the use of firearms. Hammers and other melee weapons can be made out of wood, it's up to the player to choose the right appearance of their weapons. Hammers are ok.
  22. Before I started playing this game I have red everywhere that warrior was Meta and always have been in GW2, now this...The Meta shifts all the time, that's absolutely healthy for the game. Where is Warrior exactly not necessary and bottom tier in GW2, give me some examples.
