  1. Its the best Condition build because axe 4 is on a 11 second cooldown. Honestly though the rotation APM is so high it is impossible to achieve, its on par with core Engineer at launch.The most i have gotten is 20k DPS with same gear. Traits don't mater, i normally take defensive traits, or ones that provide boons over DPS traits since in OW they help more. If you cant complete the rotation no DPS like Shared Anguish is amazing for this principle and you only lose 120 condition damage. A dead Ranger will do 0 damage every time. I'm not to sure what you mean, I'm easily able to pull of 20k in a burst rotation roughly the same and Soulbeast. It is in fact much better since you are able to CC the whole time.
  2. It is not that bad, most content in the game outside Raids and CM Strikes you can bring almost anything (well 10k+ DPS) I mean for the longest time a played a Chronomancer Healer in Fractals. People thought it was weird but they never complained (unless we couldn't clear content)

My point was if you cant pull off the rotation all those traits go to waste so they are not as important as trying to preform the rotation correctly, as appose to something like Mechanist where the traits really do mater. In terms of Untamed it is really only Axe 4 that is the problem, nothing else is.
  4. Untamed is fine as it is right now. Like most ranger elite specialization its the weapon/mechanic that make most of your DPS. I mean the DPS you see on "Sic Em" soulbeast is using a burst rotation after a single utility. The traits you use are just the flavor of playstyle. Fervent Force does lead to a cheese DPS build but its Super Hard generally the reason you want Untamed instead of Soulbeast it has better Hybrid playstyle, it can do anything.
  5. Although it isn't available on most benchmarking websites Hammer and Greatsword Untamed does exist and has very good damage. Not Soulbeast levels but close enough especially in open world. The main advantage with the power version is it has huge survivability and cleave. The main difference between the two Untamed builds is what you almost permanently unleash. Power you keep yourself unleashed 90% of the time while Condition keeps your pet unleashed 90% of the time.
  6. AHHAHA Iron toilet on a stick is so accurate. Again a simple cosmetic slot cant be hard to code since we have it for most other things we can equip/mount. I mean how much I would love a full set of Jade kits(and pay).
  7. Another worthy mention is the Taunt Controlling Effect. Its not used to control aggression of bosses rather on anything that doesn't have a Break Bar(Ads). Guardian (Firebrand) Ranger (pet Trait) Revenant (Core) Warrior (Spellbreaker) Mesmer (Core) With Mesmer being the most reliable source of taunt
  8. I feel like Mechanist just discovered what Ranger and in particular Soulbeast has had for years. Soulbeast right from the start was able to share/extend boons on itself. Which was amazing for any OW and even more amazing now with the EoD buffs.
  9. Good recommendation, Greatsword and sword + sword are really amazing melee weapons once you know the rotation. Another side note now they are buffing a phantasmal defender you have even more survability in the open world without lowering your DPS as much.
  10. The same thing extends to whole mesmer kit, it is very strange and rather different from any other class. I always say the best way to view Mesmer is through the Elite/focus of your build. In terms of core you best bet is Power Greatsword and Staff if you want ranged dps. Just swap to staff when you want to evade or AoE.
  11. Its just an observation, I guess if we compare Theif vs Mesmer they are roughly even. I really don't find many good Specters in US ranked. The times I have dueled them they do almost no damage for some reason. Hmm in terms of Mesmer I know why they play it since I did attempt it in ranked but my reaction time with Mesmer is not good, (I'm in NZ so over 200ms ping.) In terms of the Mesmer forum comment, I'm just not afraid to promote PvE builds (true they are somewhat lacking compared to other classes).
  12. Maybe its a US thing but alot of one-shoting Mesmer in ranked, atleast 1-2 per match
  13. I think my point was that most games Bladesworn is the most dominant profession and Mesmer rather than Specter
  14. No he was a Bladesworn, the only specter was on my team and he was yelling at me the whole time for camping home.

  16. I played the top player in the US the other day and Won so yeah. I barely see any good specters that is my point. If they are so good why don't we see them in ranked, rather I see mostly Bladesworns and Mesmers.
  17. Kits and Pets are exclusive to a class but legendary weapon/skill modifiers are not. We have something for harvesting tools so why can that system not be shared for any weapon in the game then by extension how hard would it be to swap out the model ID for a Kit or Pet.
  18. non projectile dps range weapons: I cycle Barrage on a 10 second cooldown, this goes through all defense and is hard to avoid since it literally cripples you. team wide high value boons with decent duration: Given I don't use any since I'm running all super speed utilities good damage ground target aoe's: Barrage team healing/barrier: None consistent utility: probably the biggest problem i face a pet that will screw up the stealth push and die leaving you with below usual stats: just have him follow you and then unleash F1-F3 when dueling.
  19. I mean I'm all for since I already have enough buttons to push but I doubt they will.
  20. Why are we limited to Weapons, Armor and Backpacks. Why can we not have cosmetic slots for Kits/Pets/Skills: Kits: This one makes the most sense since most of the kits have not been changed since launch Pets: Simple things like a Reindeer noes/outfit for Rock Gazelle, or an Asura Golem for Mechanist Skills: We already have modifiers based on which Legendary you have so why cant they be placed inside a cosmetic slot
  21. All the kits are ugly, What we need is a cosmetic addition to change them. I would happily pay for new looks to certain skill/kits/pets. I flamethrower that shoot blue flames, or a Jade green version, maybe and old school Asura Golem to replace the Jade Mech. The biggest thing that prevents me playing Engineer is the horrible look to all the kits.
  22. That will not be the reality forever, also it doesn't always apply. I mean ranged DPS especially during something like bounties is not always the greatest idea.
  23. Yeah I tried to play it but I could barely get above 4k DPS in the open world. You not only needs the muscle memory to play Elementalist but you need to know exactly which attunement to use at certain points during a fight. If an enemy repositions then a lot of your DPS goes away, this is probably why weaver is still one of the best DPS for Elementalist. I mean maybe I can make it work at some point, I know they have great sustain OW.
  24. That is true, I am currently testing a Untamed version which has better mobility but most people don't understand what I am playing. I guess the reputation of "Sic Em" Soulbeast is not great.
