  1. The unique buff change had nothing to do with since it was already at 2% by then. The most impactful change wasn't even to do with Guardian it was the fact that Power Mechanist replaced most power classes. Honestly it seem like a Mesmer situation with PvP all over again. If they nerf the most dominant profession mainly Mechanist we will see it being used. Maybe it wont return to 10% or even 5% but I bet it would be around 3%. This would bring it inline with most other professions play percentage in Raids. True I guess when it comes down to it Core was really what DH was bringing to Raids. With Willbender being a thing I don't think we will much play since that technically should be better with access to more mobility. Who knows high level raiding is outside most people attainment, I mean I barely touch it so most of knowledge comes from Fractals.
  2. I thought guardians where supposed to be a supportive class so why are you trying to get high benchmarks for power DPS. That's like saying a Necromancer should be top DPS with the highest survivability (which it was for a while). I mean Guardian outside of Condition Firebrand has never had good sustain like you said so why do you think this needs to change. Do you want everyone to be the same....? I mean Trap DH was played in raids for along time due to the Unique boons or Utilities it had and not because it had high power sustain. To further my point Condition Guardian has some of the highest burst damage for any condition class with Fire being its primary source of damage.
  3. I'm back with another suggestion. I think the best way to trigger a CM is by having some overload/overcharge Level during a Pre-Meta event. Similar to how the Attraction Levels work for the Chak Gerent Event in Tangled Depths. I could also see the time it takes to complete the Pre-Event also be indicator for the CM version. The main reason I like this idea is the number of players doesn't really reflect how fast they can complete the Open World Meta event rather its the relative skill of the players.
  4. Treasure hunters is amazing especially when you need to visit places like HoT. The blue glow is useless while a nice map icon really helps locate hidden chests. Other than that some of the newer maps can help you get some good loot and the odd achievement even if your not looking for it.
  5. I could get on board with that. At least add some more survivability to compensate. I don't know anyone who uses the Mirage Dodge to dodge. Its solely used to trigger Ambush's, and after your first dodge you can maintain the same number of dodges without a problem. You just don't have a store of them to do a crazy burst which was the original problem, I would agree that a rework of traits to accommodate the lack of second dodge would help.
  6. I mean right now it is "on demand" since you can hit the Guild Hall button, change modules then come back. The real inconvenience is the two loading screens and leaving your map (which could be full) so for the most part it isn't worth using things like the Turtle Siege Enhancer module since it is Mount/Map specific
  7. Yeah don't trust the Snowcrows write ups since they recycle them alot. Honestly most of your DPS will come from the opener so if you can get that right the rest is spamming certain skills off cooldown like Splitblade.
  8. Kind of, the condition and hybrid builds a farely similar for Soulbeast so unless you find is hard to work in "sic em" into your rotation it will almost be same Bleed stacks. It will also give you more options to address different encounters. In reality it's just a harder build which requires you to manage when to use each aspect. There is no question its more dps over all though.
  9. Engineer was the least played class for a very long time.
  10. Well wait till the lower its DPS by 30%.
  11. I don't see why I would ever swap out the Treasure Hunter Protocol (which I don't) when I have to Guild Hall port change Module then go back (which is the most effective way). Just let us swap them on the fly so I can use some of the more fun modules like Mount Energy for races without having to go through 2 loading screens. PS: This is probably a QoL post but I don't want people not see it so leave it for a little bit.
  12. No.... Any skill with a cast time can be interrupted. Splitblade has a 3/4 cast time so it much easier to interrupt, we don't have animation canceling unlike games like ESO so be thankful that what I said is true. Otherwise we would have a whole new type of metagaming, that or combat would be super slow with un-cancelable skills. If you want me add to why Untamed is so hard to play just look at the Trait Fervent Force, it has 1/4 second delay so you cant trigger it twice with 2 stuns, you need to wait. This isn't much of an issue but if you are just spamming your cooldowns, like Exploding Spores with Spike Trap together you wont trigger Fervent Force correctly. Okay let me go one level deeper into now how amazing Untamed can be, especially with hammer. Some skill are better used Unleashed while other not-Unleashed, so you need weave in and out of Unleashed (F5) to maximize damage. By doing this you can get equivalent DPS to Soulbeast (sustain) while also lowering your cooldowns on heal skills and other utilities. For open world this is just Broken.
  13. You know if you really like Soulbeast and can play it well, then Untamed will generally be not for you since is a different playstyle. Untamed is very spamming involving weaving stuns into a rotation. The hammer in this way is amazing since with your pet unleashed you have 3 stuns to reset cooldowns and then you unleashing yourself to apply all your burst skills. When I play Power Untamed my Frost Trap does 60% of my damage since I use it while unleashed for maximum damage, then reset it with the stuns. You also can't die or be stunned in melee which Soulbeast has trouble with.
  14. I'm the sort of player that If I get assigned a role, healer or support I put gear directly for that. Healers almost always run harriers but depends on the elite. For support you almost always run dps gear with boon duration sigils and runes (since it has more of an impact.)
  15. Your weapon skill make up the majority of how you play so if you want to use Greatsword don't run any condition gear. Another glaring issue is you need Expertise (Condition Duration) so Vipers gear is what you need not Grieving.
  16. It actually the complete opposite Hybrid builds for Soulbeast in particular are the best damage Ranger can achieve. This is due to how a lot of the traits and weapons have condition based attacks. I mean main hand Axe is a crazy good weapon for hybrid with good power coefficients and tones of bleed on Axe 2. Soulbeast furthers with Dagger being another great hybrid weapon with its Dagger 2. Not to mention dagger auto attack has amazing DPS and when pared with Predator's Cunning can heal your for a lot. The only reason to go Power is if you wanted to use Greatsword or Longbow and the only reason to go Condition is if you wanted to use shortbow or are something like an Untamed or Druid (even then hybrids can work). In reality Hybrid only mean you take Condition and Power based utilities as well as traits. For example most Power builds still take Sharpened Edges and Hidden Barbs.
  17. I don't think people realize that Untamed Hammer has 3 stuns and when used in conjunction with Storm Spirit you can spam almost any skill off cooldown. This means Spirit of Nature and Nature's Renewal (the resurrect) can be spammed once every 10 seconds. Skills like Guard the 33% damage reduction can be maintained on a party of 5. "Search and Rescue has a cooldown of roughly 12 seconds. Signet of stone becomes 20 seconds. PS: It is highly dependent on when you can stun but 1/4 of the cooldown is roughly what I'm going off.
  18. It's not to bad, if they cut the DPS by about 30% it will be inline with most other specs. Right now on average most people get 15k in the open world on a boss, Mechanist can easily pull 20k and doesn't need any rotation. If the damage was roughly 13k I would be happy with its preformance.
  19. If you roll my build of lowering the barrage cooldown to 10 seconds(weapon swap) it is not all bad. That gives you enough time to reposition and try again. Not to mention it is very good damage.
  20. Meh no one here cares they sit on the Mesmer forum complaining about the class they don't even play in that particular gamemode.
  21. I think the biggest problem is the current top Untamed build isn't the only thing that is on offer but it is all people see when they go on benchmark websites (Metabattle is even worse) I mean a perfect ranger example is the fact that a hybrid builds literally got deleted untill recently when they realised hybrid Soulbeast has better numbers. I mean a good build I currently run is Power Hammer Untamed which doesn't have as much burst as Soulbeast but easily can keep up with its sustain.
  22. I guess, well either way I did state WvW even if it didn't answer the question (if that is what the author meant by PvP). True but is has been a little better since earlier this year so depends on the time scale.
  23. I will take a stab at answering this since we have had a bit of mixed bag of responses. If you played only end-game content exclusively vs lets say a year ago I would say things are better. With the influx of new Legendary weapons which most of the components can be traded has lead to a gold mine of content that can net you 20+ gold per hour. The game has a lot of power creep at the moment so CM fractals/Strikes are much easier to do which results in upwards of 40+ gold per hour. If you want to Raid well that might be a dead end for gold per hour. If you want to Farm EoD related content then look at this https://www.gw2bltc.com/en/item/96347-Chunk-of-Ancient-Ambergris. I don't think the price will drop anytime soon so this it a good source of income at the movement.
  24. I kind of agree, I think it has more to do with how fragile the Soulbeast/Untamed Cheese builds are. All the one-shoting potential doesn't help if they resurrect of your death in a 1v2. I don't play this variant of Ranger rather I use a Condition Untamed focusing on CC skills.
