  1. You are correct in both cases, sPvP more or less has had the bottom fall out from under it (lack of new players) Most people on the forums play WvW and not sPvP since its the vastly more popular game mode so they will have more experience with builds there. They have far more similarities than differences, like Roaming in WvW and sPvP are pretty much the same. The main difference between the two is Celestial stats are exclusive to WvW.
  2. Okay let break it down more. If you want to play Soulbeast in end-game you are waiting for Exposure since you want your burst rotation 40k+ to do the most damage. This means waiting for your cooldowns and trying to do the most damage during this window. Most if not all fractals speed runs relying on this fact. Untamed is different since it relies on using Fervent Force to reset Axe 2 Splitblade. This can be reset every time you CC so you have to hit this skill first between CC and most of the Ranger CC skills don't trigger right away so it worse than a Keyboard playstyle since it is very easy to accidentally animation cancel Axe 2 or miss the stun window of 6 second (so 2 seconds). I hope that makes sense now.
  3. ??? What is it then if not Player vs Player. I mean if that is the case then this game doesn't have any PvP content since Conquest isn't played at all by any of the hardcore PvP player base. Most if not all people play WvW simply down the fact that there is only one US player in Legendary bracket (1800+) for Conquest.
  4. Yeah you got it, the meta is non-existent outside Cheese builds even in PvP Tournaments. I mean I'm not the best PvP player by far but I can play in Platinum solely because I bend the rules of the game. Most games I just get top kills because I run around noob stomping rather than actually doing anything useful. I will often abandon Far or Home since I would rather be alive to Noob stomp than get try 3v1 or 2v1, again selfish playstyle.
  5. How are you playing? I mean the Meta at the moment is all about carrying your team to victory so if you are good and know you can play at gold 3 be selfish. I mean I almost always camp Mid unless I'm playing with plat players then I camp home. Roaming or Support wont get you back to gold essentially.
  6. Yeah this is literally countered by any sort of reflect. I mean I have seen this in ranked and all you have to do is focus them, I have even seen my ranger pet down Scrappers.
  7. PvE?????.... WvW is PvP, its one of the two game modes for it. About on par for this subforum -_-
  8. That is technically their entire class mechanic and reason to run Hammer on Untamed. The solution to this problem is to just use a movement skills to get away. Untamed doesn't have that much mobility after Hammer 5 and teleport Cantrip are on cooldown. If you can avoid the Hammer 3 (lets say by dodging) they have very few ways to trigger Fervent Force. What is more deadly is triggering Fervent Force by other means like Shortbow 5, Longbow 4 and Spike trap.
  9. If you are good you can kind of make anything work. I mean I run a very odd Untamed build in gold 3, its revolves around triggering Fervent Force with Spike trap and Shortbow/Warhorn. When I pull my rotation off even the most tanky builds just fall over. Another example is rather than running away with tones of movement abilities like Soulbeast would, I try and lockdown and stun my opponents into leaving me alone which verse certain classes can be far more effective (thief mostly).
  10. Power Flamethrower is what what I meant mostly but all kits suffer from having the skill 1 being the large majority of your damage where some builds ask you spam 1 after you apply the conditions needed to get your extra 2% damage from Modified Ammunition.
  11. If you spam your skills it has a hard time procing, you really need to slow down and wait for the skill to execute to move on. Axe 2 is the perfect example where you can easily interrupt the cast time, along with utilityCC/Axe 4 which take a while to trigger the stun. Go something like Axe 2, wait, Axe 3, Axe 4 or another CC, wait, then repeat. Hitting the Axe 2 is the most important so everything else is secondary even F1-F3.
  12. I was messing around in WvW with a mix of Marauder and Dragon armor stats (until I get 100% critical chance) and also Hammer. My goal was to try and make a Zerg clashing build with Untamed, what I ended up doing was rather strange. By running every damage Immunity, Stability and Resistance utility Untamed has and then eating Bowl of Fire Salsam. I then was able to Burst down a few enemy Zerg members, downing myself in the process but then resurrected off their subsequent deaths. It is still in the experimental stage but I thought at the time was a very fun way to play.
  13. Hammer Untamed or Druid can do okay in Zerg fights. I have been able to literally go immune to damage and CC with Untamed to be able to down a few people in a Zerg clash. Even when i go down i normally get picked back up by my own Zerg or enemy death.
  14. Untamed is fine the way it is. It has its place in the Meta which is a high APM sustain build as appose to Soulbeast which is a low APM burst build. Currently you can build a ranger around both these concepts, conceivably a support Spirit Untamed or Soulbeast can be made with the same idea in mind.
  15. Not really, I don't know why but I guess the general nerfing of many dominating professions allowed room for Mesmer to have its place in the current Meta.
  16. It is super reliant on party buffs even things as simple as Swiftness are impossible to self maintain (70% max). You would be much better espousing the Virtues of Chronomancer since it has many self buffs which raises it over all benchmark when used in most content.
  17. That would be to specific to the Elementalist Class, it could be when applying certain conditions instead.
  18. I don't think it's strong enough but I'm not to sure what to change it too.
  19. I like the idea but we all ready have a bonus based of Wells so maybe a different one that is more universal. Rune of the Specter: +25 Condition damage +5% Condition Duration +50 Condition damage +10% Condition duration +100 Condition damage +20% Boon duration for 3 seconds when you apply Barrier This would help other Condition/Supportive Elites like Untamed and Scourge too.
  20. Lol, you might right I don't really play Vindicator enough to know what makes it do damage. I guess the trait has a lot to do with it rather than the dodge landing damage. I agree, the only real downside I could see with not have an ICD is spamming dodge in WvW. Honestly maybe a good Harbinger set is a 25% condition duration since all we have currently all we have is the Rune of the Nightmare; I will add it. Rune of the Harbinger: +25 Condition damage +5% Condition Duration +50 Condition damage +10% Condition Duration +100 Condition damage +10% Condition Duration attacking movement-impaired foes (Affected conditions are taunt, cripple, fear, immobilize and chilled.) My thinking is how to make a good condition rune set and it still viable for the power trait line. The requirement of a controlling effect would make the power grandmaster trait Cascading Corruption with its 4 seconds of a cripple a good option especially with groups of enemies.
  21. My main concern is no one would use since you either want to be full damage or full healing. Something in between would have to have an amazing 6th bonus, which I guess it does with the endurance regen but might be to niche.
  22. I guess an internal cooldown would make sense, I feel like adding the block to dodge mechanic might give other classes unintended buff. For example forcing Aegis supports into the meta even more. I don't think it will buff Mirage or Daredevil much since they already are near the limit in terms of triggering their dodge mechanic. It could be used for a more bursty version which might be a good trade-off.
  23. I think we are about due for some new rune sets based around what makes each new elite specialization unique. My goal for this is to think of rune sets that could benefit everyone so its not exclusive to that class. Some Ideas: Rune of the Willbender: +8 to All Stats +10% Alacrity Duration +12 to All Stats +20% Alacrity Duration +16 to All Stats +10% Boon Duration; grant nearby allies 10 stacks of might for 8 seconds while in combat (Cooldown: 30 Seconds) A dedicated Alacrity rune set which we don't have makes sense since Willbender does have a hard time with Alacrity. Rune of the Vindicator: +25 Power +35 Ferocity +50 Power +65 Ferocity +100 Power Gain 100% of your endurance when you dodging an attack (Cooldown: 10 Seconds) This I hope could bring Vindicator DPS up to par with his other Elite Builds, i will also double as a buff to any healing builds. Rune of the Bladesworn: +25 Ferocity +35 Power +50 Ferocity +65 Power +100 Ferocity Deal +15% increase strike damage on first attack after swapping weapon in combat (pet swapping counts too) (Cooldown: 8 seconds) This could buff one shoting build but the hope is if you have to be in combat first before activating this Rune set, it might help. Rune of the Mechanist: +25 Power +35 Precision +50 Power +65 Precision +100 Power Apply 2 seconds of Alacrity when you cast a signet. Nice and simple just a signet version of the Rune of the Chronomancer. Rune of the Untamed: +25 Power +5% Condition Duration +50 Power +10% Condition Duration +100 Power Lower the cooldown of weapon swapping by 2 seconds Furthering the ability to lower cooldown this rune set should help Untamed maintain pressure with power damage and controlling effect durations. This is all I have so far...
  24. I really hope they don't touch or change Fervent Force since it really makes this Elite Specialization. I mean we have no reason to pick it for DPS if they nerfed or removed this trait. The main reason I use Untamed over Soulbeast is purely how tanky it can be even if technically it is less damage (100 APM build is literally impossible to do).
