  1. That's not a valid criticism but instead a baseless assumption. What about all of the people who linked other sources which the OP conveniently left out? False
  2. Source? No it wasn't. We had been averaging an episode every 3-4 months and we're nearly a year since any new content has been added to the game. There was also a 10-ish month content drought prior to the last expansion as well. When you look at the episodes themselves, the the majority of what kept players busy with things to do were the achievements with some of them especially grindy when it came to LS5. The content itself for an episode wasn't overwhelming as you could experience all of it over an evening and the content has been permanent. I don't get what your whole "reasonable amount of time" statement was about as either you're flat wrong or you wrote it in a way that you didn't intend.
  3. Yes. This is what I’ve done since LS3 so that I could have any new masteries unlocked in case they were required for story/achievement progression or in the very rare occurrence: useful.
  4. What’s funny about that is that their expansions were pretty much the size of their DLCs but they just charged more.
  5. The expansions, being smaller in scale, are essentially DLC than expansions. Although I wouldn’t be surprised if they were still marketed as expansions like how they marketed LS5 as a “saga”. Nothing concrete has been given regarding their frequency other than they’ll release quicker than a full expansion. The LS episodes that we’re used to will be less frequency in number and scale but be free to all those who have the paid DLC that they are attached to. There’s no need to log in within a certain window to unlock them. These will release quarterly which is basically what they were doing with LS episodes anyway. The only difference is that these quarterly releases would be smaller in scale and probably involve maps being piecemealed over releases.
  6. Versus dumping practically all their resources into the LS leaving the rest of the game in “maintenance mode”?
  7. It didn’t take five years. You may want to check your facts. You don’t have to wait for peak hours. If it’s useless then why do you care? We’re getting less LW content overall in exchange for them actually working on other areas of the game at the same time. It’s a fair exchange imo. Perhaps wait and see instead of crying out that the sky is falling.
  8. What's going to stop people from just repairing a wall over and over that's continuously being trebbed? One could sit in SMC and just repair the wall being trebbed from red keep enough times during a defend event and get their rewards. No active participation necessary but it sure drains the supply.
  9. You're looking at practically every elite spec in the game which gets overhauled. You're also making the assumption that other content doesn't receive bug fixes well after it's been released. All that I'm seeing is a biased view.
  10. It wasn't patched massively for years lol. We had an overhaul to the meta reward system about six months later with other small updates to nerf adventures to the point that you could get gold for most without trying.
  11. It's pretty smart of them to increase the cadence of expansions so that players will spend more on the game.
  12. Crafting is a core game feature. Over 90% of all MP in the game are awarded through achievements. If you're planning to play the game and avoid achievements, you'd going to have a very rough time. The only thing that cannot be bought off the TP would be the gift of battle which you can get without interacting with any players and by doing things that could be considered "PvE". PvP is not required to advance the crafting professions at all.
  13. Technically not quite as they used up supply by constantly repairing a wall that was being trebbed. That's causing more harm than just taking up a spot on the map.
  14. If you looked at my other posts, you would see why it was brought up...
  15. One of the issues was the players who would do nothing but sit there and repair to refresh the timer without doing anything else. I never said that this was the same as someone just coming along to repair on their way to another objective.
  16. There was always damage because someone at red keep would always be trebbing. Outside of those that botted this, it made it incredibly low effort to complete the skirmish reward track as all you had to do was was use like 25 supply to repair the wall in like 10-15 min intervals. Rewards should be based on actively playing WvW and not sitting AFK doing defense objectives.
  17. They did it by repairing the walls to get credit for the defend event which then reset their timer to 10 min.
  18. And how many would sit at SMC and repair walls for the rewards? People used to bot their way through the skirmish reward track that way so I doubt they’re going to add similar things to the weekly.
  19. Or you can buy the gems and get about three expansions worth of content.
  20. There is diminishing returns if you do the event repeatedly, regardless of daily reset, without doing anything else. People first started see this when they parked a character at the end of the Flame Temple Tombs mini dungeon to farm the end boss’ drop every day. If this is the same case, make sure to do other things on the character to reset it.
  21. The majority of people have completed it and there’s little reason to continue on doing it. It was one of the reasons that a lot of veteran players were worried about whether the 6 min achievement bug would get fixed in a timely manner (took them a month and they didn’t even mention it in the patch notes).
  22. It only went to the persistent server based on everything that I’m reading unless you have something that shows otherwise.
  23. If such a system existed, as you say that it did, surely there would be documentation of it somewhere? Edit: I saw some random posts from back then so okay. The one thing about this queue is that it went to a persistent map and not to a particular map instance of your choosing. This functionality may have also been completely removed with megaservers.
  24. Source that something like this exists for PvE but is just disabled? Or is this just bad phrasing?
