  1. Ok, so what is the point exactly because your wall of text kinda obscures it.
  2. Very casual OW player here. Played for 10+ years. Have exactly 0 legendary items. The only ascended that I have, I crafted during COVID because I had nothing better to do with my time, and even then I've only crafted ascended weapons because I liked particular skins. I have never needed ascended or legendary items and have been able to complete content with exotics. Sound a lot like a L2P thread.
  3. Support tends to be slower on the weekends. Players tend to do more exploits on the weekends.
  4. The entire idea of GW2 being P2W is complete fallacy. No one yet has been able to answer how one "wins" GW2.
  5. None of that is PAY TO WIN. It is BUY TO PLAY. Massive difference. And even so, again I'd have to ask how does one WIN? How does a player, who has purchased content, beat a free account player in winning GW2? Would they have an advantage in competitive play (PvP or WvW)? Absolutely, but they don't win the game.
  6. Perhaps not for you. Since this practice is fairly widespread among games, I'd wager that marketing statistics show them to be more effective than not. /shrug
  7. It'll probably show up in the next WV season. Save your AA now!
  8. This goes along with what I mentioned before. I forcibly worked to generate enough to get Force of Nature to kick off, and once it did I was quite underwhelmed with the result for all of the effort. I don't see building around this mechanic either, as it stands now. I'd rather be doing something else than putting so much effort into getting FoN to fire because pretty much anything else would be more beneficial.
  9. Not necessarily. Level 80 boost and then a quick HP train run could do that easily.
  10. I can't speak for anyone else, but I've been able to acquire a LOT more gold through the WV. As a very casual player, I might pick up 3-5 gold per playing session. With WV, and topping out on wizard coin, I end up "buying" gold ... sometimes 10 gold just for completing the daily because there really isn't much in the WV that interests me.
  11. So, how do you "win" GW2? This game is not P2W. Everyone has equal access to all equipment. It's not like swiping your card grants you items that are exclusive and above the ones that can be obtained in the game. Power creep is also not P2W for the same reason. Everyone has equal access to it. Mounts are not P2W. Everyone, again, has equal access to them. Paying for any of these things only accelerates the rate at which they can be obtained, all of which can be gotten in game anyway. And none of these things will "win" GW2.
  12. After 11 years, this seems a bit naive. Anet is going to push whatever weapons they want regardless of the players' suggestions.
  13. I hardly play my elementalist toon, but I, too, have focused more on catalyst than any other spec there (actually having some fun with Sw/D generating a lot of fire and using the F3 then F1 sphere). For casual (very!) open world, it does give me more bang for the buck with less button mashing. I agree with the sentiment of going back to core.
  14. I'm not sure what you mean. I couldn't care less about other players' achievements, either in GW2 or in their real lives. Their achievements don't impact me.
  15. OW casual player here, have enjoyed the tiger for a while, but now they've nerfed fury from it so I'm looking at other pets.
  16. I felt the same way and I really didn't want M/M (and am still not really in favor of it). To me, that says a lot about the other professions' new expanded weapons.
  17. I never understood why it matters to some players the achievements of others.
  18. What precedent? You can already "purchase" HPs from WvW and complete those more challenging ones. There is absolutely nothing P2W about this.
  19. It's a marketing tactic. Players get a dopamine hit when they have things to open. It's to encourage players to continue playing.
  20. Is there an award for claiming all of the titles?
  21. You already have a purpose to collect them all. Your own satisfaction. There's no real need to show that off.
  22. Why? Because someone cried and complained about it, probably.
  23. Yep. It's a gimmick-y type of thing which should be improved or removed. As I said in my earlier post, it's difficult to obtain and maintain for so little benefit.
