I'm a very casual, OWPvE player so I don't play any META builds or anything. There are some professions/e-specs that I just don't get so yeah I suck at those. But then, I just don't play 'em. For whatever reason(s), they just don't work in my mind. There are plenty of other professions/e-specs to tinker with, so I don't bother playing ones that I'm no good at playing. My limited on-line time would be wasted. Most of the ones on which I choose not to focus are professions/e-specs that (to me) seem to be more designed for group or instanced content. As a mostly solo player, they just don't work well for me. For example, as a ranger main, why would I choose to run druid for mostly solo play when practically any other ranger-centric build will work better? I might swap to my druid build for a world boss event or some other event where there are a lot of other players (Joko's minions comes to mind), but for everything else the druid spec just isn't for me. /shrug Same with the latest thief e-spec from EoD. Just can't wrap my mind around how it plays -- for me, anyway.

It's all a matter of perspective. /shrug

You can play the game now and do whatever content you like. Convert your earned gold to gems and buy the skins you want.

Never had that before, but I have been solicited in some very overt language. Didn't bother to report them. Just said "No, thanks" and blocked them. Figured I'd worry about reporting if they continued to follow me around, but they didn't. Maybe they were just trying to be funny. /shrug

This really depends on what content you choose to play. As a very casual OWPvE player, and a ranger main, I enjoy my core ranger a lot.

I think the desire is due to some players not appreciating the level of fantasy that is GW2 or that they would prefer something more basic. /shrug

Wow. A 5% bump makes a character OP? Same 5% that one gets from Ascended gear? I am a very casual player and it took me several months of playing here and there to get my skyscale and I had no issues moving around maps with the standard PoF mounts. And this was well before the Return To events so I had to get the zone currencies by (gasp!) actually playing the game.

So, let's just forget the raptor, springer, jackal, skimmer and griffon, then. Oh, and the roller beetle. Heck, even the warclaw since it's able to be used in open world. All of these mounts provide power/mobility. I guess they don't matter.

It has everything to do with it. The skyscale IS NOT REQUIRED to complete any content. Neither is legendary gear. Both are COMPLETELY OPTIONAL as QUALITY OF LIFE upgrades. Both also require time and effort to obtain. If we can make the skyscale easy to get, why not legendary gear?

I'd like a full set of legendary gear, but it's too grindy for me. I don't have the time to raid, either. Can we just give me legendary gear, please?

That's not the argument that's being made. Seems like some believe that the skyscale is a necessity and that's why they want an easier way to acquire it.

But that's just it. The complaint/request is that the quest requires too much grind, so those in favor of the thread want skyscale acquisition to be much easier.

There are no elves in GW2, either.
