In what format? Are you trying to play it as advertised, with the hammer, or have you tried to broaden your horizons and use different weapon sets? Of course, everyone's mileage will vary, but I've had good success in OWPvE with Sw/D and LB on my untamed and it doesn't feel as bad to me as you make it out to be.

There have been other threads on the needs to improve the LFG system. Have you read those? You can use the forums search to dig 'em up.

That's why I said "for me". And no, I do not represent the entire casual player base either. My casual play would not include housing. So, yeah, our definitions differ on many fronts. Still doesn't make my signature line any less valid.

Ah, well, I'd expect people in those communities don't even log in to GW2. Maps are populated, although depending on time of day and event schedules, some may be less populated than others. It is true, from what I hear, that both PvP and WvW have had some population issues but overall, my highly subjective experience is that there are plenty of players engaged in GW2. I believe that there are industry reasons why studios like Anet don't release hard numbers to the public.

IIRC, legendaries came after the community outcry from ascended being implemented? The stat swap on legendary was the biggest pull for players, especially since the 5% buff or whatever was maintained from ascended. That's the way I remember it. I had little to nothing to do with the fashion wars aspect.

Stat change is in Legendary gear. If it were in ascended, there would be even less reason for players to go for legendary.

Dungeons have been replaced with Fractals.

I'm not picking or choosing anything. GW2 has been billed as a play-as-you-want type of game. I like exploring maps with my mounts. I can play how I want. That, in no way, affects anyone else's desire to explore maps without mounts. Your analogy doesn't apply because legendary items aren't a part of this thread's discussion. Neither are achievements. Not sure how you're trying to make that parallel. However, yes, by that example other players having legendary items or achievements doesn't affect my game play. I don't think making such things available in the gem store is a good strategy for keeping the game going for the long term.
