  1. After the third time I tried to attack something, and found I was attacking with a kite, I deleted all novelties. If I hit the tiny box inside the slightly larger box, even one time during a battle, novelties have no value. Period.
  2. How is Teq’s Horde different than the Badge of Honor? What you’re seeing in posts from long term players is the long term exposure to the Developers actions. It doesn’t take long to come upon something you can’t get unless you do game content you don’t necessarily enjoy. We become accustomed to do “whatever it takes”. It’s one of the costs of having a ton of content and a need to keep a variety of players active in each area. Teq is like every other event with an achievement and rewards. The better rewards should be harder to get. I usually see an exotic, a few rares, and a bunch of salvage. Still, that’s as good as any other event in core Tyria. We have become accustomed to these methods, not against change. To get the long term players you need to get those basic requirements changed for everything, not just the one thing you want.
  3. Just add a timed event in fishing areas where the big fish comes out to eat you, and it will get much more popular. I'd prefer a Champion Alpha Drake with decent loot please.
  4. I have had success with spending more time killing the fingers and krait adds as opposed to pounding Teq constantly. Might just be luck though.
  5. I have no problem with the game motivating players to try other game modes. By all means, we should. Having spent 8 months doing WvW earning GoB's, I now fully well know that I hate it and wont go back. The Gift of Battle cannot be called motivation. It's not motivating players into WvW, when they face the realization, they simply leave the game.
  6. Having looted Teq's Horde 2 days in a row, and having several taking up bank space, I can't agree with a change.
  7. All you're going to get here is people defending the area of the game they enjoy. Farm gold and buy it. Don't give them the satisfaction of knowing they forced even more people into doing something they hate. They could easily put the GoB in a weekly festival chest, but they need to continue trying to motivate people to try their failing game mode and it's the only method they appear to have. All those telling you how easy it is, are just waiting there to kill you. Buy it.
  8. I believe the current player population is made up of more players seeking to do harder content, once, for great reward, and then never again going back but instead going to the Forums where they claim, the content is all to easy and they are leaving. The Dev's seem content to create that new content, over and over, getting nowhere. Even in a game where most play in PvE, designed to be all inclusive, there is a clear stong effort to exclude players for any number of absurd reasons. One of the many reasons I'm fine with playing in groups but I try to play solo as much as the game will allow. Nobody in the game has a weapon or outfit or skin or whatever, that I have to own, for me to have fun. If we really need to show we are better than everyone else, why do it in a game where it impacts only a few people and doesn't really matter? I'm here for the fun and if I loot something good I'll show it off, but I personally know that anybody else in the game could have just as easily gotten that loot.
  9. Want more players who stay and spend? Create several more Festivals so there is something extra each month, like 2 or 3 weeks. No prolonged programing costs. Repeatable content with the flip of a switch. Once a year loot types, mount skins, outfits, food, buffs, additional gem shop related items... Expansions bring players that only want difficult content to play once. That is simply not financially sustainable.
  10. The fact that you can buy Hot by itself, but if you buy Pof, Hot is forced on you, tells me even Anet knows we like Pof a whole lot more.
  11. What a unigue and roundabout way to get everyone to agree that the "personal" story is a group event and not solo content.
  12. It's pretty hard to ignore the daily log in chest on a character you played 3 to 4 hours on last night after reset.
  13. My personal story ended with the requirement of beating three champions and their support. That is not a personal story. Personal ended long ago. It's a group story and should be called that.
  14. With 2 paid accounts each doing 3 glitched chests over each of the past 24 days, one has 11 glitched weapons, the other has 6.Has there been any speculation as to the impact of group size? The account with 11 is basically solo and the one with 6 is basically in groups.
  15. We knew mounts made things super easy and a change was needed. But a time of major changes is the worst time to impact PvE with anything at all from WvW or PvP. That's what makes me less civil. Just so you know how I feel about the changes so far, here’s some new names for your new Warrior Rifle Skills that are more reflective of what they actually do now. The old names really shouldn’t apply anymore.Aimed Shot – Tamed ShotVolley – FollyBrutal Shot – Futile ShotRifle Butt -- Rifle But No KickKill Shot – Nill ShotFierce Shot – Coerce Shot
  16. The challenge events here are Dragonball related. That's just what there is. What's lacking is PvE content worth actually doing. The race reward is insignificant. The gold award on the other race is not worth the effort. Opening gifts is not a challenge, it's part of the reward process and includes no effort. If they rewarded 2 tokens during the Celestial Challenge after actively defeating 5 or 6 challenges, and added the equivalent of a new years world boss that scales, at the end of the event, that awarded 2 tokens, the event would be lots of fun, rewarding enough to take part in, not ungodly long, and much more in line with other festivals. Significant involvement would need to be required to gain the rewards though, with additional attempts required if not enough interaction with enemys was done. Festivals should be fun first and difficulty second. Under no circumstances should raids or adventures be part of a Festival.
  17. Masterful toast grants the "Spirited Drinker" Title. An activity done throughout the year. I've been tyrying to find if it can be obtained outside of the Winterday Festival so drinks wouldn;t be wasted. I didn't intend to upset anyone. It looked like Masterful Toast was what granted the title.
  18. The Winters Presence collection was never the issue. Masterful toast was. Accusations? LOL!
  19. The problem is not a JP. It's the locking of rewards behind it. Why not simply give the option of JP completion credit, with a mount, or JP completion credit and reward without a mount? Let players do what they want to do.
  20. I did not find much info about the Community Collection and it looked like it may be from GW1 origonally and because of that assumed the only access to it now was an ocassional gem shop sale. I see now that there are ways to unlock it. I have no interest in the Winters Presence collection and will never do that JP again. Masterful Toast however, does not show as a collection on the Hidden Achievements Wiki page. So, although the collection is likely completed, it's locked for a year. I'm sure there's some logic to this.Yeah, right.
  21. it looks like the Community collection must be purchased from the gem store, but they relied on puchase of the required item to allow the completion of the Festival Collection and Title award.
  22. Perhaps well hidden pools could be located around the maps that provide a small fishing area with each having different options and have the game track attendance at these sites so developers could see what is popular and how much....
  23. Great idea with lots of potential and so many ways it could expand the game. I dont see why this would need to be restricted to Tyria. In fact, it might be better and provide easier options to create and maintain if it existed in only level 80 maps.
