  1. I already pre-ordered, and my friend group did as well. Some of the features sound very exciting and it's hard not to get my hopes up. For reference, I am looking forward to this more than I did for EoD.
  2. Yes please. Or maybe even various golem types - they could make mini quests for them, like they did with the cats!
  3. I strongly doubt people are being malicious when they are simply out in the world map exploring or gathering. Some people might think they are helping for instance. I know it can be frustrating however, as I often level alts from scratch and have run in to similar issues but I've never believed anyone was out there intentionally ruining my fun. High levels go through the zone so quickly, it's kind of strange that their brief presence would affect you as much as it seems to. Also, if there is a daily that involves the map you will definitely see high level characters more. Just be patient, it's going to be ok!
  4. I don't necessarily regret the legendaries I've made because I can reskin them for free and use them on all my characters. I have Exordium, Nevermore and Kudzu. I suppose I wish I had made Sunrise instead of Exordium because as cool as it is that Exordium transforms, the saturated pastel colors don't really suit my characters.
  5. 🌈Thank you so much! πŸ¦„πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸ”΄πŸŸ πŸŸ‘πŸŸ’πŸ”΅
  6. Pay to win is when you can buy an unfair advantage; an advantage that can not be earned easily any other way. 1) Earning something faster through cash does not necessarily make you better than the one who did it the normal way. But also 2. People who don't use cash can still convert gold to gems to buy what they want anyway. The game is by no means perfect, but it's not particularly greedy. It has given a means to anyone to earn what they want in the way they're most comfortable doing.
  7. From launch Guild Wars 2 wanted to be different than standard mmorpgs. Instead of drops it offers achievable ways to earn special skins. Miniatures do sometimes drop from certain chests but some can be bought with map currency from heart vendors. Beautiful and unique armor choices are often earned from completing a list of achievements for a certain story arc- those are called meta achievements. Fishing has it's own unique rewards including armor skins, but you trade for it after you earn your fishing masteries. There are some rare skin loot drops, like infusions from certain boss chests, and of course you ALWAYS have the chance to find a precursor or named exotic from any mob in the game, but it's extremely rare. Some people have been playing since beta and have never found a precursor but that was why they are craftable as well. Guild Wars 2 has one of the least greedy designs out there. It's cash shop model is extremely fair considering what it offers in game. Even their cash shop allows you to buy gems with gold. Nothing is barred to you.
  8. My game crashes when I load in a character. It gets to the loading screen of the map they're on, then the game crashes. I tried -repair, it did nothing. The game was working fine just before the patch as well. I'm doing a fresh install of the game to see if it helps.
  9. Some content is just not designed to live through - your character dying is an actual part of the story. So how would you work this out? Would it just be the core game ? Would it be to a certain level? Would it only be certain content? What kind of rewards would this include. I would scrap that no waypoint idea. That would just add artificial difficulty on top of an already difficult challenge.
  10. Aren't the only people who watch these videos only Guild Wars 2 stans these days?
  11. There are a few unique skins that can only be earned in the Delves: Processing Line Control Bracers, Replica Oni Arms, Holo Cape Projector Skin, Grinning TahKayun Mask, Minister's Hat ~ Some of these items are unlocked for completing certain achievements for the Delves only. You can find them on this vender: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Requisitions_Specialist#vendor13
  12. By the time you realize you need to block the person, you've already been exposed to their garbage but I like this solution. Some people intentionally appear offline to cause this specific kind of grief. They can 'harm' people without fear of retaliation. OP's initial idea to make it impossible for an 'offline' person to send whispers is an excellent idea because it puts an end to that kind of "last laugh" trolling.
  13. Before the changes, there was a limit to how many keys you could earn from the events per day. So you would stop receiving key rewards for events. Now, it's true you don't get the exact amount of keys you need to open every chest via events, but you can also replay the map over and continue earning keys.
  14. I never fished. What I understand is that what we find fun and rewarding are very different. I did notice a drop in the amount of unique/rare items - before the patch I got the ascended chest 3 times, and almost completed my luxon weapon collection. After the patch, have not seen the ascended chest, but I do find a luxon chest maybe every 3-4 runs. What I like is that I can open all the chests. I play the meta maybe twice a day on my days off. I find it fun with a decent amount of gold reward. I don't min/max gold farming however.
  15. I'm on NA and have been able to get on active Delves maps every hour or so on my days off. Even without a commander people are able to organize and complete the meta. It's still a rewarding map in terms of liquid gold as a casual player so not sure why folks in the forum are catastrophizing what is still a fun event.
  16. I tried restoring the default screenshot button, then adding the custom keybind to the second slot instead. This fixed the issue unmounted. Attempting to use WASD, left click and screenshot while mounted breaks it again. Any ideas? Mouse issue, or game issue? A little of both?
  17. Since the change to DX11, I haven't been able to take dynamic screenshots. Pressing a directional key, while controlling the camera disables the screenshot button. For example if I want to take a screenshot of my character flying on a mount, and turning at a 3/4 angle, I can no longer do that. I have tried restoring default settings but that made no difference. Could it be something else? Does anyone have any ideas?
  18. I would also like to see how we can earn the turtle and the kirin especially. Maybe in the next chapter?
  19. Mullet hair styles for all races please. Sylvari with mullets - magnificent.
  20. I love the chair and the animations but the sounds are revolting if I am in a situation where I have to remain in the vicinity of them for more than a minute. It's weird that it's in the effects channel instead of player unique sounds. I had to mute it yesterday which is sad because it's entertaining to see but the sounds are as bad as nails down a chalkboard.
  21. I actually don't do strikes or raids, in part because it's not fun content for me so Legendary Armor is out of reach for me. I enjoy exploring the maps. I like helping random downed people I come across, and map chat can be pretty entertaining. I feel more part of a community. My experience with raids was spending a month making meta ascended armor, only to have the meta change a week later: joining a raid training guild and have the trainers rage quit after 5 tries. Strikes were a little better, but most of them were not fun - even though I really like the skin rewards. I managed to get a few pieces of runic armor before giving up. Despite my experiences, I still think this stuff needs to be in the game. It brings a lot of joy to some people. I am thankful for many things in the game, I just thought I should say something positive because there isn't a lot of that in the forum.
  22. I don't say this nearly enough but thank you for the new content Arenanet. I didn't say so earlier but I have been really happy with the amount of new armor skins that came with the latest expansion. I've spent untold hours redesigning my character's looks around them. Every festival has had new items added to it, and I'd like to thank you for those too. I'm actually really excited to see what will be added in the next festival and I'm looking forward to finishing collections to get last years new skins. While I spend most of my time exploring maps for transmutation charges and playing with my accumulated skins or designing new characters, I really enjoyed the new map meta. It was challenging but still approachable and I want to spend more time there. I really enjoyed the new eating animations from the party. The voice acting was fantastic making the characters seem believable. The commander's exhaustion was palpable. I want to thank you for all the hard work your team is putting in. This has been a game I've enjoyed since launch and I really hope it continues to grow and succeed! Thank you so much!
  23. I am not a raider, I don't do strikes or high level fractals - I'm just a casual and probably one of the very few to comment here but - I thought the new meta was perfectly balanced between being approachable and difficult. What people here seem to be asking for is something so much more difficult and I don't understand why you would want that on an open world map that is designed for everyone. I really liked the new content. I have to admit I don't understand what the benefit of the non-free filters are though. They don't have as many charges so I didn't use them - can anyone explain what I am missing with them? I otherwise thought the new stuff was interesting.
  24. I once asked them why they needed to pay anyone to read their work. I said people would be happy to review for free if they would tell us a little bit about it. They told me they wouldn't be answering the first question because they've received it hundreds of times. They also said they hated gamers because gamers "assumed everything". It was extremely offputting considering I had been genuinely curious and just wanted to help. That was in the Grove. A day or two later I saw them advertising in Divinity's Reach.
  25. Thank you for reminding me! I've been going through my roster and wanting to change the looks of some of them. I have over 30 characters so the sale is awesome for me! And it helps support the game too.
