  1. It was merely response to your own response within a thread. If you don't like me pointing out how comparing calling a weapon performance "kinda meme" to murder, is a very silly move, then all you needed to do, was to like, not make the comparision. I am not trying to hard anythin,g this is barely my third post, in this thread (were only two when you wrote that I am trying hard) and that is after two pages of your major upset over how insulting I was to devs by daring to call warrior longbow's performance "meme". "nonsense drama", bruh you went full rant mode for two pages over my one comment, and now you are trying to claim I and trying to highlight a nonsense drama that you yourself have made? Interesting, considering that the only ranger using GS or axes I meet in wvw it is myself. Rest of the world seems to use longbows. And the unmitigated burst they can do is fairly scary for those characters I do run. (Notably most of my currently active "builds" do not have nearly enough projectile hate to shut that down properly, so that may impact the experience of danger of a fight)
  2. And Saul's buddies were not the force that stopped the considerable smaller charr force, Mursaat did it.
  3. Since I already mentioned memes, this specific response of yours reminds me of one. "I like oranges" "Oh so you say you hate apples! Do you have any idea how many apples suffered because of you orange lovers!" On a side note, I would appreciate if you were not so intent on putting words in my mouth. I would also appreciate if you were not trying to hard to feel insulted on behalf of devs. And I will close off this response by mentioning, that comparing someone, calling a weapon in a game being a "meme" to things like: is sort of a meme situation on it's own. Interesting, they have no burst at all, but somehow community regards it as the burstiest weapon of ranger, and every single ranger I met in last month in WvW was using primarily a longbow. I wonder why that is.....
  4. I would not be going so far with assumption based on the video. First, a mainhand weapon that only is capable of serving it's function with specific off-hand is terrible design. Second, the AA shot on the vid seems to be going at usual pistol-shot pace (the blog even claimed it to be a "fast" projectile. Third, the wording of the blog about symbol says nothing about using weapon skills to enhance it - only that striking a foe within the symbol, or shooting through symbol will cause symbol to afflict burning. This imply to me that any source of damage should be able to do the trick. Sure the volley shot was advertised as one way to stack alot of burns onto an enemy, it sounds to me more like a specific burst ability more than requirement to get DPS on-par. keeping enemies within the symbol to stack burning with all the kinds of attacks in PvE is going to be definitelly possible and not that difficult, in WvW roaming should also prove workable against NPC targets, the main question is how it will fare, and what skill no 2 will bring in against other players.
  5. I had response typed out adressing points OP tried to raise against my response, but then I have read through the rest of it, and all that was in that response was, 1. already stated by someone else, and 2. OP responded to those points with "no because I say so." For some reason that I cannot determine, OP seems to be under impression, that since undead army raised by an Elder Dragon ended up having powerfull spellcasters, and because White Mantle, whom was only capable when they had mursaat behind them, struggled without said mursaat intervention against undead risen by Lich Khilbron, that somehow this means that Orr had super powerfull army. And based on this belief, OP started to asking about how this event could happen in the lore, where that particular event of the lore actually shows, that no, Orrian army was nothing special.
  6. I think it is more of OP just wanting to use warrior's bow on ranger. And last time I checked, performance wise, warrior bow was kinda a meme.
  7. That is the important part, reminder we are talking here about beings invisible to charr at all, wielding extremely powerful spectral agony against which charr had no defence. I highly doubt that Orrian Army could somehow beat that. And none that would rival the killing power of spectral agony. and defensive power of your enemies never having a clue you were even there. Also an important note to bear in mind: The undisputable facts in here are that the main army of Orr got routed (likely due to wrong assumptions about state and capabilities of charr army coupled with arrogance as Kalavier mentioned), but it is not known if Orr would be able to repell the invasion given time more time. What we know is that one man believed the cause lost enough to unleash ancient forbidden magic in belief that this will save Orr. And that blew the whole peninsula up.
  8. A guildmate managed to drop some, and that particular guildmate is not the kind of person whom would lie about it, especially not in the conversational context it came out.
  9. They bugfixed it some patches ago, apparently was not intended to work for sub80 characters. Apparently there is/was a workaround that allows you to constinue using them on the sub80 character if you had it equipped or used PvP lobby to bypass the level restriction and equip it this way. That is incorrect, as AN have directly stated that owning SotO and unlocking the weapon training thingie, will let to use weapons from especs you do not own the expac for. That was very much intended thing (Only using espec itself requires to own the other expacs). Booster also comes with set of exotic celestial gear, for all that is worth it, but if I were to speculate, I'd say AN decided that espec weapon may somehow damage leveling experience or balancing of such? Dunno. To be perfectly honest, that is somewhat strong reaction for the scale of the issue (weapon proficiency training kicking in only at lvl 80). Sure it would be nice if you could use all the weapons on new characters from the get go, but not having access to espec ones during the leveling is hardly something that in my opinion should warrant the question of "why do I even keep playing".
  10. Ever since the announcement of guardian getting pistols during SotO marketing phase I am having hopes for pistol+shield build. Going to try to make one for general PvE and one attempt at making a roamer build around that. Actually maybe I will do more than just a single attempt at making a working roaming build around pistol+shield.... 🤔
  11. Could you please speak for yourself? there is alot of people out there not disappointed in SotO. Sure there are people who are disappointed, and they are definitelly very vocal on this platform. but they are not everyone. There is one notion I will aggree with you in this post from which the snipped I took. And it is the notion that alot of GW2 playerbase have got spoiled by how amazing (and relatively cheap) HoT with PoF were, and therefore whatever AN tries to bring in better money to justify the manpower to develop more to NCSOFT, will be bringing a pushback from it now. Considering that What Lies Within was objectively worse, and was not so long ago, I find this claim extremely funny.
  12. And having play actual grind inspired games, I would say you are out of touch with reality of GW2 if you think it is "a grind inspired game now". With tiny nitpick of having yearly expansion that is to be paid for 😉 IBS was free on release.
  13. 0,25 base cause they expect all condi guardians to run +100% burning duration 😉
  14. Been around since 2012. Last bit does not specify the mode so it is prudent to assume it being global change. As you can see, the buff applies to all the modes (more of a buff for PvE, granted, but all modes get's a buff). so you complain about new weapon for other classes, while ignoring new weapon your own class get's and use that to claim AN wants to delete your class. Nice.
  15. In case you forgot they are buffing mainhand pistol on same day the beta for new weapons starts, so maybe don't be so melodramatic about thieves? (they also get piercing ranged weapon with axe :P)
  16. Actually you are correct, I got fooled by AN jumping perspectives there, indeed after the volley, guardian fires 3 charged shots from the offhand. Not sure then if they really wanted to show all the angles on the animation they could, or if it is an indication of an ammo skill.
  17. You say that forums are infested with people who will whiteknight for AN, yet every time I look at the forums, I see way more people being overly toxic about anyone who dares to like anything about the game, so I'd say it's almost as if we were using two different forums all together. I stand corrected on that part, admittedly I was not paying huge attention to job offers they have out currently. I guess doing UE5 MMO on the side is popular thing among MMO developers right now. As for the amount of people working on GW2 vs people working on that unannounced project - we do not have data to properly objectively judge. The topic of working on LWS and expantions in paralel, this may be attributed to a number of factors, company restructuring, and the fact that for the big chunk of recent time thay had big chunk of engineering folks tied to very big projects, like migrating renderer, or world restructuring. Do bear in mind I am not saying specifically that you are wrong on your assesment of less devs working on GW2 now than before those waves of layoffs, I am just pointing out there are more factors to take into consideration, and that in the end we cannot verify either way.
  18. Probably the big charge shot from the video. We were shown animation of AA, volley thing, big charged shot with the mainhand pistol and smaller charged shot with the offhand pistol. Ironically enough despite describing it in the blog, the video did not show the symbol. Dunno what consititues tiny for you, but I expect it to deal usual symbol damage. But the main difference I see there is that any enemy hit within the symbol receives the stack of burning, projectiles just allows that additional burning to be carried to enemies outside of it. Additionally symbol procs will not count as combos, so anything triggering of those will not trigger by just firing a projectile through it (it may proc of firing a combo finisher projectile through it, but it will be light field combo, not the fire field one)
  19. Then you are either somehow always running with alot more players in it I ever saw, or arrive very late - 10 charges can be dispensed in a very quick way and that wall has alot of hp. Personally all the time I was there for when door become siegable, I empty out all 10 charges before the doors hit the 50% even. After that is bond of vigor recovery, for additional 5 charges, and then very uneven distribution of charges recovering. Additional notes: you are not getting mechanically out of combat, because you are constantly delivering a damage, and game considers that putting you in combat with the gate, and for practical application, the "fight" stage on the land ends before gate becomes siegable in the first place. If there is any fight left to stay away from by the tiem siege opens, then your group somehow failed to murder stragglers. There is no mechanical bonus to damage for "staying out of combat" and again, if there was sieging the door does put you into combat, therefore you would not be getting it on Skyscale vs Turtle. Considering the difference between base damage of respective abilities, and scaling factors, those crits would have been much higher on turtle slams, all else being equal (same stats/buffs going on)
  20. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Currency_Exchange At the time of the writing of the reddit post JohnSmith was AN employee. It is "too easy" to convert gold to gems, only because of people who buy gems with irl money, and then sell it for gold. Otherwise conversion rates would be drastically different (if even possible to perform). You keep pulling gold-to-gem argument as to why AN is not earning money on gem store, while consistently ignoring the fact, that gems you are buying for gold, were paid off by someone else with irl cash. Nah, that is just you making things up. No correlation to facts.
  21. Considering the fluff, is that those arrows used "extracted magical energies used by others" as a fuel, yeah, they definitely may be themed after other classes/especs, and therefore have visual cues pointing to that. This reminds me of that tabletop RPG system that had multiple different magical beings, and then it also had mad geniuses, that could potentially create a "wonder" that would extract, and use energies of those other magical beings to fuel it's working....
  22. and now you made me hopefull for guardian pistols to be hand flamers, crap.
  23. sure it makes, and they did make some strifes towards remedying that but each and evry time got bonked back to focusing solely on GW2.
  24. I was under impression that Crecia was undercover operative similar to Rytlock when they met, not actuall member of the flame legion. For whole of IBS Crecia works with Blood Legion, and Efram is the one working to redeem Flame Legion (Crecia's offspring is a member of blood legion too, and he is too old for this to be the part of new deal where Flame Legion sends it's cubs to fahrars of other legions).
