  1. The one that got axed at the first or second round of layoffs? Reminder: every time AN tried to work on new projects, at some point NCSoft came in, axed that new project and told them to continue doing GW2..... Also aren't you confusing dev studios here? Because I am very well dang sure I saw exact same claim on ESO forums. (UE5, new rumoured MMO, totally has only skeleton staff working on the current one...)
  2. Fireball has charges limitation, and the charge recovery is much much slower than the recovery from the slam. When it comes to the gate in Nayos meta, that alone has enought hp for turtle to easilly outperform the skyscale's fireball. Not sure about other intances where siege damage is involved, didn't try to test it there quite yet.
  3. No, it only means ESO is attached to a big and loved franchise and is not tragic in it's implementation of things (just in case you tried to pull SWTOR on me :P) Since you seem ignorant on how gem exchange works, every gem you buy with gold, was a gem that someone bought with money and then sold for gold. It is a known fact for nearly (or over?) a decade now, if you are curious about source of that information, wiki has the links.
  4. My argument is very valid. if you already landed in water, and summon skiff, it is faster to just keep going with the skiff than to anchor and mount skyscale (as Manpag has laready mentioned) At this same moment mounting skimmer instead of skiff would also be faster than your whole procedure, I guess which of those two would be faster would depend on which masteries/jade bot modules you have, and/or what kind of terrain we are dealing with. So while you can continue believing that skyscale is capable of crossing seas on it's own I will just continue following water-landing with shift+3 for skimmer, have a nice day too! 🙂
  5. Looks potentially interesting, will need to see the numbers (and combo effects) before I can properly judge. Not exactly the hawkeye style of techy arrows I was hoping for, but still workable I think.
  6. You do realize that all of these takes way more effort than just dropping into the water and remounting into skimmer right xD Also, irrelevant, it needs additional tools to properly cross large enough body of water, so most of the seas you will need more than the dragon to cross 😉 If swapping mounts and other tools are taken into consideration, then going to the cailing, quad dash upwards+ glider boost with jade bot into gryphon, now that will allow you to cross all the bodies of water in the game without having to use skimmer.... still won't get you anywhere underwater..... EDIT: let's be real here, the only reason skyscale got that mastery with Nayos is because meta in nayos requires siege damage against the gate, and there WILL be people attempting it without the turtle, so the mastery is there primarily for them - it would be highly unfair if main map meta in a SotO map required a mount from EoD to complete.
  7. just going to drop a note in here, that it can only go so far over the sea as it's flight meter allows, which is not *that far*
  8. I am doing public nearly daily and the only fail was literally the first one, which was like day or two after patch has dropped.
  9. Having both you can create your own high point, since AN updated air rescue traits to allow to not only mount in air but also dismount from their relevant mounts in air. So you can hop onto skyscale, go up to the roof of the flight bar, double-dash upwards, activate bond of vigor, double dash again, dismount, mount griffon, and here you go for zoomies 🙂 If you happen to have access to EoD and have trained jade bot mastery, you can add even more of distance you can build up this way, by deploying glider, and using jade bot glider boost skill before mounting the griffon, this works even better if you slot the module that buffs the distance the bot updrafts you.
  10. This would encourage people camping middle even more, because they would have way less distance to run to deposit the essence, than going all the way from side islands. That being said I cannot say I can relate to the notion of too many people camping the middle. Maybe time of day, or zone case, but in my experience so far, everytime I join the public run, someone tags up (at couple occasions had to tag up myself), usually most if not all of the instance join that tag, and blue dots tends to be somewhat decently spread around. The issues of island phase taking forever usually comes to uneven distribution of people with sensible offensive capabilities - longest I had, basically all of dps on tag (happened to be me) and in the end I ended up participating in clearing of at least half of every single island. Sorrow was going down pleasantly swiftly afterwards tho.
  11. I had no idea if they did, but on yesterdays Mukluk's stream he said he has alts parked on static chest on both of the maps, so by harvesting it daily he has by now alot of those currencies. Which implies they do drop map currencies for those two maps.
  12. I do not think that this was actually core of the OP request, the glitch he refers to is a real thing, and it can fail you convergence with most o the participants not being able to do much about it - the gist of that segment is to bursting the boss to specific tresholds, and breaking CC bars, to spawn essences to keep Zoija alive, and it is perfectly reasonable to expect AN to fix bugs that break this chain of causality. The only problem I find with OP's post is that they have exaggerated frequency of the issue occurring.
  13. The saga of "everyone who disagrees is AN employee continues 😄 That is not exactly what everyone's been saying tho. What people have been saying is that the ability of skyscale to deal some small amount of siege damage does not invalidate turtle, as turtle is still better at siege damage, and has over advantages, and factors unique to itself. In-game reality is that whatever you will be trying to do, grand most of players will use skyscale, because it is a very convenient mount package in general. In case of specifically Road to Heitor meta stage where you need to siege down the gate, skyscale can get faster into the action since it can be mounted in combat, meaning you do not have to shred combat state from the previous state to start blasting. Speaking of in-game reality, everytime I do Road to Heitor meta, I am always seeing turtles at that particular stage - sure less of them (not surprising since one turtle enables two players to do the thing alone, and there may be substantial amount of SotO playerbase not having turtle at all) but they are always present. So you are loving the disconnect between your imagined perception of how thread is going, with your perception of reality of the game, funny that. For "avoiding all damage" I sure do see alot of people being blasted out of the air on skyscales, I also definitelly get hit on my skyscale way too often. Also shows, you never tried to use skyscale in Draconis Mons, otherwise you'd know that pocket raptors on that map are effectively surface to air missiles 🙂 In your place I would be careful with pulling that argument. Alot of your statements leaves a big room of bouncing it back at you. Just saying.
  14. Probably because you never gave it any deeper thought on how the design logistics would apply to your idea. Especially without clashing with the general AN philosophy, where race is only supposed to matter for visuals and your personal rp/story.
  15. In all of my 7 daily runs so far, I get sorrow most of the time. Not once Sorrow went over the water, the first and only fail happened due to complete lack of CC, and people started panicking and stopped dpsing, so we have hit neither of conditions to get next essence drop from it, while it was hammering on Zoija. And I have been doing these, exclusively in public. (Don't get me wrong, fixing bugs like not spawning essences is important thing for AN to do, but could we please stop overblowing things out of proportions in here?)
  16. I had no idea that skyscale can now grab a passenger onto it.
  17. Interesting, I didn't use illusions traitline enough to notice any weirdness with that particular trait, but that would be indeed the common ground between the two.
  18. There was a bug with Road to Heitor that was awarding multiples of hero's chests per run. After the first "Fix" it reduced them to just two per day, newest patch notes claim to fix it again, so I guess it is only 1 now. But on the bright side, the wall is just 1 instead of 40, so in general, grind to get them all is much lessened when all things gets factored.
  19. You do realize, you are discussing longevity of a game that has lasted on the market for over a decade already? Funny that you mention ESO. The game that launched as subscription only, but very fast had to downgrade to buy-to-play with optional sub, and even after that, they adopted same yearly stories schedule AN is adopting only now, like 5 years ago. Same ESO that is younger game, can be argued on amount of content comparatively to GW2 (GW2 has way more OW content, but ESO on another hand has more dungeon and raid content). The same ESO that employs a number of predatory monetization schemes, including but not limited to lootboxes, and where despite all that cash flow, if you went by moods in the community is perpetually in state of dying. The same ESO, that has regular service downtimes lasting anywhere between 4h and 12h, with not so infrequent schedule overruns. And that without even considering the service disruptions, where login server just decides to act up, and require another of those "maintenances" to fix. Oh and the complaints about ESO on their forums are essentially the same - lack of balancing, not enough new content, the only major difference is that ESO players also complain about craftbag being locked behind sub. And alot of people believe, that the only reason ESO earns it's money and didn't sink yet, is because it is Elder Scrolls game, and since skyrim, the only TES game that receives any new stuff for it.
  20. but seriously, what are we supposed to keep talking about in here, it is not like anyone but AN can confirm or deny if the third thing are congealed screams or not 😞
  21. No, but this is not what he claimed - your 2014 Berserker have exact same stat spread now as they did back then, and if you were fine with performance of your berserker gear in 2014, you will continue being fine with your 2014 berserker gear in 2023. Just because new stat option from later expansion was then hailed as new meta for Condi/Hybrid DPS, does not mean that your old stats got somehow diminished.
  22. It didn't go bankrupt, you are spinning here false narratives to past events. AN did start a number of new projects, and the hard times have hit, and NCSoft stepped into save their profit margins. GW2 was still being profitable, and definitelly did not go bankrupt. No clue where you got "almost shut down" from, that's nonsense. and here you are conflating two separate events. IBS was not during PoF, and it was after second layoffs, second axing of new projects, that were due to saving profit margins on COVID, and after big disappointment of no new expansions. But company that is about to go bankrupt, does not get to do big expansion (EoD) followed by next expansion being greenlit within first month after sale of first one. Core Tyria, HoT, PoF, EoD, SoTo, 4 Seasons of LWS, 5 if we count IBS as LWS, yes, game has alot of content. You may be delusional, and not think of any of that as content, but it is there. I have no idea what point you are trying to raise in here, but monetization schemes of MMOs in general, are never something generating any hype about the game, and in every single case, is a cause of alot of complaints. ESPECIALLY battlepasses. You haven't played alot of MMOs if you think all of them have subscription fees. Right from the top of the head I could even name you three titles, that launched as subscription based games, that had to downgrade to freemium within first year of the game, because they were unable get enough players otherwise to survive. And if you claim equivalence between subscription, and a battlepass system, it only goes to show how little you know on different monetization schemes. What your proposal was for AN to go full cashgrab mode essentially. Start doing everything against that which has stood for the foundantion of their success, to get more funds. There is not a single instance of annual or quarterly finantial report (which are published by NCSoft regularly) where GW2 would fail to bring in profit, and all of the NCSoft titles that bring in more profit than GW2 do so on korean market. There is no "bailing" when your company is constantly turning profits. You can't be even bothered doing your homework on the subject you are trying to argue, so I am not surprised. And that is a strawman - I said it was cornerstone of NCSOFT EARNINGS in the western market, not whole of it, even if it does qualify into "the big 5" of western MMOs by most sources out there. Also, WoW is not considered "dead" but "dying" there is a difference. It is smaller, in exchange for us not having to wait another 4 years for it. Factually incorrect, at this point I am starting to ponder if you even understand what the word "content" means. It does have less of it than previous expansions, that would be true. That is such a loaded statement, I am not even sure where to start. Yes, there is a distinct possibility for a game to be doing well, by moving from massive expansions every eternity, to regular smaller expansions. There are a number of MMOs with battlepass systems. Just as with alot of other things in this thread, your ignorance does not make things cease existing. That is not so clear cut, as the situation is shifting with each new title, but there are MMOs out there (STO comes in mind) that have in fact dropped their optional subscription (in case of STO it was a rocky road going from subscription required, to freemium, to dropping recurring optional sub - the perks of the sub technically are still possible to get, but as a single purchase "lifetime subscription"), but in every MMO that has optional subscription, the scope and existance of that subscription is a very common criticism. Random fun fact. Folks around ESO have recently celebrated, how Necrom was largest expansion it had in years. This expansion, all things summed up, was still smaller than SotO. And it has all the optional subscription, loot boxes it should be earning so much money, right? Argument could be of course made that they are not earning enough for longterm support of giving away for free so much content it has over the years, which is why they decided to adopt the release schedule that ESO has been successfully running for couple years now, and if you think that releasing new expac every year is not going to bring in the cash, then I dunno what to tell you. And here you are again pulling numbers out of yer kitten, without even considering the NCSoft quarterly results. And completely omitting their primary income source for years now - the gemstore. Living story they were not selling either. They were giving it away for free. Also claiming that game got nothing to sell till their next expansion is again misinformed - gemstore it is, still fulled to brim with stuff people want (varying between conveniences to cosmetics), and with quarterly regular releases to bring attention of players to the game, so they can hang around and buy stuff. I will take a moment to commend you that for once you provided a source for your numbers. Good job! For every forumite proclaiming they will stop buying more expansions in this game, I have met at least two people in other places of the internet, whom were happy with what SotO did and will continue to do, just to bear in mind that official forums have tendency of being negative echochambers. And every game trying to embrace that kind of thinking, died. Do with that knowledge what you will. you were doing so well on numbers, and then you decided to once again make it up 😞(hint hint, that is not how averages work)
  23. I do not have precursor sets done yet, and my quest for amalgamated essences is being hamstrung by my ecto stockpiles 😞 Thanks convergences, for awarding me more essences than I get ecto to process xD
  24. I am, thank you. Game did not hit bankrupcy even once, what are you talking about? NCSoft is not "bailing out" GW2 yearly, there are clear financial statements made regularly showing that GW2 is bringing them solid profits, with it being the cornerstone of their western market earnings, again, what the heck are you talking about? Enought for what? Game has already tonne of content comparatively on the market, and it is steadilly growing. No it isn't. Just notice how many people out there got upset over mere perception of Vault being a battlepass-like system. Like it or not, core AN audience, and their one huge selling point for over decade now, was none of that monetization crap you see popping up all over the place in other games. What is ridiculous, is pretending that the game can go full cashgrab mode and survive it, lol. I have never, in all of modern history of MMO, saw anyone being hyped up for a battlepass system, like ever. What I did see plenty hype for in the broad history of MMOs are new expansions.
  25. Since this: Your own words to which I was refering to when stating you claimed it a game breaking issue. Because that sounds very game breaker issue for you to me, if you are going to completely abandon supporting the game over it. In such a way, that you are still completely omitting the fact, that map meta awards 2 screams a day, which alone, flat out ignoring all the clots accumulated along the way, cuts that time in half. You are vritually misrepresenting the reality to look worse than it is for the sake of argument, and english language has a fancy word for that - exaggeration. You're welcome. The only thing new, which I was not aware when first responding to this thread, which is also apparently only response, you have actually read so far, was due to me not having time yet to investigate newest update decoration acquisition, which I have learned in no way thanks to you, since you omitted that one crucial detail to complain about things that were not in fact new.is the coupling of craftable recipe, as opposed to purchasing finished decoration from the vendor, with account bound currency. Had you actually put effort to read instead of angrilly attacking me for audacity of disagreeing, you would notice you complained about a number of things, out of which none is new to the system, and I even gave examples of previous instances of each. And since Mattahood pointed it out to me, since you failed to notice, I did start pointing out that your original complaint did not feature this very crucial detail. Which you are still not using in further replies, instead of going on how grindy it is. I have at no point claimed to know and see everything in scribing. For someone who clearly got upset over self-perceived putting words in your mouth, you sure like doing it yourself. And since you failed to notice, I did point out numerous of times, that me trying to do guild hall decorations all by myself has caused a burnout on the whole game for me, 3 times since HoT release. I have been working on my guild hall on timescales of months to get any basic thing from the very beginning of the system, so sorry if I am not sympathetic to complaing that misrepresents less than 20 month grind for 55+days grind. And that tells me, you are coming from a very privileged position, where you had other people grind for your scribing from the start of the system. Because for those whom weren't this lucky in access for people to farm materials and account bound map currencies, this has happened every.single.update. Which ironically enough you just did yourself...... Geeze, so you are not going to read what people whom were not being a yes-men to your whining have to say, instead resorting to call them trolls, because that is always the best approach to have constructive discussion on public forums? And you see nothing wrong with that logic? I guess, have a nice day? EDIT: FYI, the second post does (no longer?) exist.
