  3. Thanks man. These are just examples of why I believe Power Sc/D spectre is in a good position. It just need velocity increase on shadow sap and twilight combo. But Shroud isn't as bad as people think, in terms of utility. It's very utility based. And super good with Smoke fields. But did you see the Initiative generation video. Look how fast it generates, compared to beta 4

There's many more clips, but possibly for a montage, who knows. SC/D Power is really in a good place in my opinion, and as long as you use your shadow shroud strategically, you'll survive encounters Just make sure to utilize your shroud blast finishers and combo finishers in #2, 3, 5 in your Smoke fields, and when using your shroud 5 and people try to run away D/P 3 (Shadow shot) and close the gap while securing the stun In the Deadeye clip you see that I kinda mis-clicked and opened up my WvW menu, but Shallow Grave was clutch in that circumstance and I siphoned and utilized my Hidden Thief stealth trait and smoke screen. Im just fortunate that he was running double rifle so he really couldn't finish the job šŸ˜› (Although i should've just switched to D/P and stealthed up and not wait for him to get out of stealth to be attacked) In the 2v1 fights I was running Pack runes, Full Marauder, with 100% crit chance. I truly believe having 100% crit chance is the way to go for Power SC/D, You definitely don't want to be caught in a situation where your twilight combo DOESN'T crit.   5. Donā€™t get me wrong Shallow graveā€™s CD IS ATROCIOUS. (For me) and how I will play Spectre is not very supporty. Iā€™m playing like a selfish thief. To be completely honest I almost always forget that Spectre can tether to Allies or you can barrier them while targeting them while Iā€™m fighting. It always slips my mind, but then I do a stealth blast finisher near an ally and see a tether and Iā€™m like ā€œoh right, I can tetherā€. I donā€™t use consume shadows because losing ALL of your shroud #1 even before the nerf wasnā€™t appealing to me (just me) personally. It didnā€™t appeal to me, because youā€™re effectively nerfing your survivability in my eyes. It was be a VERY SAD day if they decide to nerf the condition cleanse while in stealth Grandmaster Spectre trait, because itā€™s VERY effective in ripping off condiā€™s quickly. And because of how I play Spectre I almost never get so low that my Shallow Grave procā€™s BUT BOY when it does i do a sigh of relief because then I can wait in my shroud for my steak to go off CD if it isnā€™t already and utilize hidden thief and just stealth away. I am very comfortable while playing Spectre vs almost anything. But thatā€™s just because you gotta play smart while using it. I am very upset that they nerfed the distance to an already short range Dawns riposte #3 Fear/movement skill in shroud. But itā€™s very effective vsā€™s people. Also pressing 5 and then toggling out of shroud to switch to D/P and shadow shot if they are trying to run away from your stun is effective. Shadow Shroud #4 is very short range, but DOES Massive dmg when all the hits hit. But itā€™s super easy to miss. I agree that an offensive trait would definitely be welcome, I even voiced my support for that as well in another thread. But as it is right now, at least (for me) Playing a Selfish Power Spectre Sc/D is super chill and in a good spot, just needs some tiny QoL changes to velocity on some skills as well as QoL changes on the elite spec itself and itā€™ll be set.
  6. Oh sorry about that bud šŸ˜Š but yes, what I said still stands. This Power Spectre Sc/D is in a very cozy spot. I run full marauder/ pack runes, and have 100% crit chance (81% before fury) but thereā€™s like never a time where Iā€™m not without fury or atleast critting (if weakness is not on me) unless stolen or corrupted. Iā€™ve also tested Golemancer runes if I want to LoS around my golem, Warrior runes for 20k vitality and decrease in weapon swap, Earth runes if I wanted projectile hate, mad king runes if I was using basi venom for a ranged stun or using the Elite Well that pulls foes in but then Simultaneously getting attacked by birds due to the mad king proc, tormenting for heal on torment infliction. Iā€™ve tested quite a bit of runes and all of this while my crit remains around 95-100.
  7. Power SC/D Spectreā€™s are very much in a good spot WvW wise. All it needs is a big velocity increase so Twilight comboā€™s and shadow sap donā€™t ā€œMissā€ while literally in front of the person or slightly to the side. I will upload an example in a couple minutes of what I mean by completely missing. If you know what youā€™re doing as well as NOT taking consume shadows trait and using Shallow grave. You can survive well. and being able to utilize your blast finishers and leap finishers from your shroud skills #2, #3, and #5 in a Smoke field from your D/P 2nd weapon set or from smokescreen (if taken) is very effective while in combat to keep you alive. While shallow grave trait procs to save you from death, make sure you have hidden thief SA trait being used. Because itā€™s very clutch to just disappear when shallow grave procā€™s and then utilizing hidden thief siphon on an enemy and then D/P or blinding powder out of the situation. Power Spectre Sc/D is in a pretty good spot. It desperately needs velocity increase though. I donā€™t use any of the Spectre Wells either. EDIT: power SC/D isnā€™t easy to play AND survive. But if youā€™re above Adept in your Thief skill level and mastery then youā€™ll be fine and wonā€™t lose too many duels and skirmishes unless you are being reveal debuffed for days or run into an LoSā€™ing MechanistšŸ˜›
  8. I will not disagree with your point about Shroud being lackluster. But I was solely speaking in regard to Power spec. I did not mention Support spec at all nor am I arguing for it. In beta 3 Full power stat DPS mechanists (players) made their Mechs OP STRONG. Which shredded through specter shroud like butter. In one instance I was dueling a mechanist and itā€™s mech and I had full shroud. We started the duel, I targeted the mechanist (player)and started bursting them, immediately afterwards, I was dazed or stunned (which ever one, I forgot) but I tapped into shroud and it was shredded by the mech in 1.5 seconds. To beat the player I had to run Anti Projectile (even when some of the projectiles did go through the projectile hate skills) I used (Smoke screen, Daggerstorm, Preparation Seal) I was then able to trap the Mech inside the seal preparation and deal with the Mechanist himself in that time, but if not, I had my other projectile hate skills as well as stealth and shroud. But once the Mech was free, it unloaded and shredded my Shroud. Fighting Support mechs were fine, they didnā€™t do enough dmg to shred my shroud and was just very trivial in general to handle. No issues fighting them. I will say again, I still donā€™t think it was a good move to nerf and take away your Stat conversion/share trait, AND nerf the dmg.
  9. You cannot deny that power mechanist output insane amount of DPS. I donā€™t agree with the change to the stat conversion trait, but it definitely needed to be tweaked down A LITTLE, not that much. The mech pretty much made Specter shroud obsolete. and this is unrelated but some of the mechā€™s projectiles even went thru smoke screen and dagger storm. And none of the skills, I checked had unblockable descriptions on it when I checked the damage and skill log for which unblockable projectile went through
  10. Twilight Combo needs a velocity increase. It misses so many times. Itā€™s tough to land but when landed itā€™s super clutch.

  12. I would love for them to revert the hidden initiative generation change they did for beta 4. I have plenty of video evidence to prove in beta 3 the initiative generated faster. I know this because I was able to do a certain combo, and was able to upkeep that combo permanently with just weapon skills alone, but now I need to use utility to be able to upkeep the combo. I compared the speed of the initiative generation in my video's I took in beta 3, and compared them to beta 4. I hope it's a bug. Because we already lose 3 initiative choosing this spec. On top of that we've been asking for initiative QoL changes for a while now.
  13. So since you automatically get A stack going into SF. That would leave 4 seconds where youā€™d have to actively wait to reap the benefit of the full heal/barrier return. so why not every second = to 1/4th you pop SF early you gain 1/4 healing but also 1/4 of SF is depleted from your bar. you pop SF at 2 seconds = 2/4 (50% hp back) 3seconds = 3/4 (75% hp) 4seconds = 4/4 (Max intensity heal) Would this be a potential solution?

  17. Yes I believe this is the case. Anet isnā€™t going to fix this since not enough people are fussing over it and itā€™s not a huge community fiasco but this bug does suck when youā€™re on the receiving end of it. But fair play to that Ranger, I understand why he would take that high position as well, since heā€™s blown all his CDs. But mehhh. This doesnā€™t happen often and like said, more than likely isnā€™t getting fixed. Yeah thief had monster damage back then. I should know. I was the one shot daredevil Thief that instaā€™d medium, and lights with a backstab without using Assassin signet. My past montages proves as such.   18. I'll start off by explaining that I knew he would shoot me, I had him targeted. What I didn't know was how hard and rapid he'd hit, because it was my first encounter with him. Pretty balanced damage I'd say. To be honest I'd argue that it's too balanced. Anet will see this video and still nerf Thief. I should've died sooner, I was alive way too long. Base Health Nerf Incoming. /s And yes yes, I know the spiel, He invested everything into this 1 trick pony build and went full zerker, blah blah blah.
