  1. It never "protected from balance". It provide freedom of build and never did anything else. ANet should not be strangled by legendary gear when it come to balance. What next profession having "protection from nerfs" ? The 6th rune will provide raw attribute and thus will still be useful and you'll still enjoy the flexibility of it. Unless you want to get the materials of your 6th legendary rune refunded and the rune removed from your armory ? An entirely free new legendary item. There are so many Karen jokes people could make from that level of entitlement.
  2. Craft the relic legendary when you can then. You enjoyed 6th legendary rune. Now it changes, deal with it. You still benefit from the 6th legendary rune, so you deserve nothing.
  3. You craft legendary items and they're unlocked account wide, so I don't see any issue with them being crafted. Still unlikely. And unlocking every relic for free would not be "almost OK", it would be OP. Why would you get to skip any farm and craft and achievement to get all the relics because you enjoyed 6th legendary rune in the past?
  4. It could be that relics do not work like runes. If they're freely swappable account-wide unlocks, there would be no need for a legendary relic. Unlikely, but possible.
  5. I assume people with 6~7 legendary runes will have an extra relic choice box.
  6. What I meant if that if you already have aggro on a monster, the Taunt will basically do nothing.
  7. Because it doesn't do that if they have a defiance bar, and for the trash you usually don't care taunting them because they die instantly.
  8. Hammer, Longbow, Mace, Shortbow would have been good fit.
  9. Virtuoso dagger is already a 1200 range power weapon. So I expect conditions on Rifle, or the bleed from Jagged Mind to be made baseline.
  10. It matters when skins should look good even if you end up not using it. If you don't use it because it's ugly, then it's an issue. Light - 3/10 - Might be better if the women version is a dress. Medium - 9/10 Heavy - 9/10
  11. There should be a single dedicated cosmetic infusion slot. Any infusion NOT in that slot won't be displayed. Could be on amulet, next to enrichment.
  12. Because the issue is staxe, not staff + other weapon. You should be able to create a build with staff + greatsword, or staff + scepter, or staff + sword (focus/torch) if you want to. Dual the same weapon should not be enforced by design with a bonus in accord with the overall game design phylosophy. It would create a build "trap". And this suggestion is basically a return to the old way. It's separated from clones as the counter used is a new buff rather than your active clones. So we would be free to use our Shatters and not lose. Without any foe we would also be able to upkeep Alacrity (as long as we are in combat).
  13. For exactitude, their ability is not instant as it pulses 6 times over 6s to give Alacrity. And it cost them 20 energy to use (8~10% of their energy budget). But it's vastly superior indeed.
  14. It's 5 people though, not 10. At 0% boon duration, their Alacrity uptime is 44% (untraited) 71% (traited) 75% (traited, if someone else provide the missing 25%)
  15. A proposition to make Alac Mirage viable while not making Staxe powerful. A change to all ambush skills + a change to Mirage Mantle trait so the benefit of using a staff for Alacrity conflict with using lowered cooldown Axe. It's also an indirect nerf to Distorsion Mirage. Which hopefully could lead to Mirage finally getting its 2nd dodge back. ANet can then play with Axe skills and Mirrored Axes trait to balance Axe itself separately. Staff: Chaos Vortex No longer give 1s Alacrity. No longer give 0.5s Alacrity per clone. Trident: Wave of Panic Unchanged Axe: Imaginary Axes No longer inflict 4s Torment per clone. Scepter: Ether Barrage Number of orbs lowered from 5 to 3. Sword: Mirage Thrust No longer Daze. Greatsword: Split Surge No longer do secondary beams. Spear: Ambush Assault No longer inflict 8s Vulnerability. Trait: Mirage Mantle No longer give 4s Protection. Each time you get Mirage Cloak while in combat, you get one stack of Mirage Mantle for 8s. All Mirage Mantle stacks are lost on weapon swap. Staff: Chaos Vortex Give 1.25s Alacrity per Mirage Mantle stack. Trident: Wave of Panic Give 1.25s Alacrity per Mirage Mantle stack. Axe: Imaginary Axes Inflict 4s Torment per Mirage Mantle stack. Scepter: Ether Barrage Throw an extra orb per Mirage Mantle stack. Sword: Mirage Thrust 0.25s Daze per Mirage Mantle stack. Greatsword: Split Surge Does one extra secondary beam per Mirage Mantle stack. Spear: Ambush Assault Inflict 5s Vulnerability per Mirage Mantle stack.
  16. The difference was that you could give Alacrity anytime without needing clones. Now you need clones, but whenever you can't have clones you're immediately punished by a destroyed ability to sustain Alacrity. When it was 4s, you could pre-stack Alacrity for these times you couldn't provide it.
  17. Yeah, but Guardian is the most popular AND the discord leak show a disdain for Mesmer. So of course they made no efforts.
  18. If they absolutely want to nerf Staxe, they could remove Alacrity from Chaos Vortex, make Mirage Mantle give an extra effect per Ambush skill. With Chaos Vortex being Alacrity. So the choice is Mirrored Axes for DPS or Mirage Mantle + Staff for Alac.

I have 60% boon duration and it's not enough to provide Alacrity for any fight with disruptive phases (like most bosses have) On a 1M health golem, that has no disruptive phase, I was unable to cap Alac at 30s before killing it solo. Any disruptive phase, that's a hole in Alacrity uptime. Chronomancer should have a viable Quick/Heal build. Mirage should have a viable Alac/DPS build.
  20. Maybe they'll add new weapons to existing elites to support the alternative builds. Herald could get shield + scepter as an example. Scepter would provide quickness and support. Chronomancer could get a healing hammer.
  21. More than a year later. ANet should be ashamed.
