A Thought on a hard counter to Condition Damage
Kulvar.1239 replied to BlazeQ.1095's topic in World vs. World
I've never seen a topic being twice raised from death. 2017, 2021, 2022. Solution is more availability to Resistance and Resolution across the board. -
Help me decide on a profession
Kulvar.1239 replied to IvoryOwl.3275's topic in Players Helping Players
Play Engineer. When you want to turn complexity off you go mechanist. Otherwise you play scrapper or holosmith. -

What Is The Biggest Design Flaw With Engineer?
Kulvar.1239 replied to SleepyBat.9034's topic in Engineer
Losing the core necromancer shroud skills is not a tradeoff. Just like losing core guardian virtues is not a tradeoff. Supposedly the tradeoff for necromancer are Reaper : increased life force degeneration while in shroud. Scourge : shroud replaced with shades. Harbinger : shroud accumulate blight on self. -
It's funny because the quite general solution to this is that defensive/support/heal AoE just trigger on self and offensive AoE trigger on the targeted foe.

What does the 50% in Angsiyan's Trust do?
Kulvar.1239 replied to Lonewolf Kai.3682's topic in Revenant
It just means when a vindicator trigger the trait, other vindicators get less endurance. Even in a party of 5 Vindicators, individually each vindicator will get 100% of the endurance when they themselves trigger the trait and 50% when someone else triggers it. -
What does the 50% in Angsiyan's Trust do?
Kulvar.1239 replied to Lonewolf Kai.3682's topic in Revenant
It refer to other vindicators. Other vindicators around you will only get half the endurance. -
What would prevent the Shift Signet to be turned into a command that make the mech TP, break stun, and more. Just no longer give passive speed ?

You're talking about current build, I'm talking about your hypothetical post "with sacrifices" build.
-
With Quickness/Alacrity and 100% Boon Duration Empower on average sustain 10 Might. Empowering Might can theoretically sustain 16 Might if you perfectly crit every second. Except that you can't crit during Empower cast and that suppose the FB has 100% Crit Chance and 100% Boon Duration. The actual sustain of Might is around 23-24. By taking the Honor trait line instead of the Radiance trait line so it can access Empowering Might, it would be unable to have the 100% Crit Chance needed for Empowering Might. So the actual sustain will drop dramatically. And you want FB to do sacrifices. Not taking a DPS weapon for a healing/support weapon for example so it can perform in his role, and you dismiss the cost of providing Fury by saying it doesn't need to. But assuming a party will get Fury for everyone will not work. People would rather take a heal/support build they know can provide Fury/25 Might rather than wishfully hope it doesn't need to. Either the class is rework to be able to provide these boons while making DPS sacrifices, but wanting it to sacrifice both DPS and offensive boons is nonsensical. That would be the death of HFB.

The signets should have been commands skills like Ranger have. And mechanist should have kept the toolbelt skills.
-
If it's loaded with enough defensive options, it would work.
-
So a Justice DPS trait, a Resolve Heal trait, and a Courage whatever trait nobody will pick ? That's because a heal build is supposed to compensate for its lack of DPS by giving offensive boons, which the Guardian have trouble with in a full healer setup. They need to keep a DPS weapon (Axe or Sword) to provide Fury. Their ability to give Might with the Staff have been gutted in PvE. If you want FB to need "drastic sacrifices" to access all the healing capability it need to perform the role, ANet need to rework core and firebrand traits and weapons so a heal FB can give offensive boons, defensive boons, and healing proportionally to the DPS sacrifice made.

I dislike Elementalist elite skills because they have way too long cooldowns. I prefer elite skills with at most 60s cooldown.

Quality of life: Tempest and Baseline Alacrity
Kulvar.1239 replied to Ban Daur.4831's topic in Elementalist
If you make Alacrity baseline, damage will be nerfed around that fact, and when doing raids/fractals/strikes, pure DPS builds won't benefit from getting Alac externally. Alac/Quick should always be behind a trait so pure DPS builds get to benefit from getting them externally. -
Revenant is the least played class. That's why you don't see much of them.
-
There are only 5 primary roles in PvE. Pick one DPS Alac/DPS Quick/DPS Alac/Heal Quick/Heal
-
But do we want a heal/support reaper ?

Was Torment nerfed or buffed?? (PvP WvW only)
Kulvar.1239 replied to Spiral.3724's topic in Necromancer
It's a buff. The minimum damage has been increased. The maximum damaged has been decreased. But the maximum damage is only for immobile enemies, which almost never happen anyway. -
Because it's not a PvE balance patch. The PvE balance patch will come in a few weeks.
-
Thieves use the same magic school than mesmers.
-
Seeing today patch, ANet is open to make a trait give quickness/alacrity in PvE but Might in WvW/PvP But Reaper should be pure DPS, not support
-
Being in shroud as reaper is the fun part, but it's been gutted too much in PvE. The shroud replacing health was a mistake. Shroud should be like a weapon kit and life force should be purely its fuel. With heal/utility/elite skills remaining available while using it.
