  1. Many classes can do this nowadays without incurring the global cooldown ini causes for Thief~ especially Willbenders and Warriors (which will have even more speed with Staff soon) who I can't even catch and have long invulnerability phases and defenses when I do and will just take off again. Or they'll try to counter and kill me after I've spent all my ini to reach them and can't use any attack skills. Classes all have their own playstyles, play Thief yourself in PvP and learn how it works and then go back to your main and apply what you discovered. Also; in my personal experience Rifle Deadeyes are a terrible spec in PvP and I've killed them while even outnumbered 1v2. It's just a slow and unreliable weapon if you know how to deal with it.
  2. I'm Thief main but use Elementalist a lot of the time in WvW if I'm playing in groups because commanders hate when a Thief joins. The rare occasions I do Spvp I use Necro for wins with minimal effort. After playing Thief so much everywhere else, switching to Spvp feels like a structural mess. Suddenly none of my skills and builds work correctly or fluidly anymore~ especially when Reveal lasts longer, making everything feel out of sync even more-so than in PvE ever since Quickness took over the world.
  3. They did it because it messed up the trait "Hidden Thief" and caused you to accidentally break stealth. Hidden Thief's 'Stealth on Steal' was removed from the game though and the AA cancel is nolonger needed but they've yet to resolve that. I reported it long ago, actually, but to no avail.

I was personally hoping more for Strike Axe (Axe/Axe) to be good more-so than Condi, especially when Specter already has a ranged Condi weapon that could easily just get splash damage like all the other weapons like it, and Dual Pistols could just be made to be good at all with Baseline pierce/bounce. Or the fact they could just make it an Off-hand and buff Sword. I feel like the Axe's role isn't necessary mechanically due to these reasons. I played around with Strike Axe more which wasn't giving me much of a good impression with both numbers or mechanics in PvP and PvE~ I'd of rather had a melee+ranged weapon and actually have 3+ skills than 2 being split between 3 and an Off-hand that didn't have dead skills. I never Golem tested it though so I wouldn't know w/o seeing someone do that but only seen Condi videos. The Condi will be nerfed though which will put the weapon in a weird spot. Because it's a ranged weapon where Axe 2 misses it's target two times at a distance, needs target to be stationary to hit and just feels odd overall with that being literally the only thing it does. Maybe they overtuned it on Condi on purpose to make up for the downsides, plus the fact Condi is more counterable than pure damage in PvP by just removing it. Anet's likely more willing to let Thieves do high Condi damage than Strike damage~ and invented Torment just to support that. There's more to it's meh-ness than just damage but yeah playing Axe/Pistol in beta personally felt underwelming, especially with the Stealth Attack numbers (and the lack of Synergy with Daredevil due to bugs.) Like; they overbuffed Catalyst Hammer in attempt to make people like such a bad idea for a weapon, but I still don't play it due to how lame and unfun it feels.

Since my idea of an Arsonist Spec using Torch & Black-Fire Shadow Form to fully replace Stealth with Barrier (with a Moon Knight Tier "I want them to see me coming" Assassin playstyle) will never be a thing since we got Specter kinda half-assing it, I just want literally any Off-hand that isn't Stealth-focused like the current ones are. Need to revive Sword's overnerfed speedy brawler style and ditching Cloak and Dagger and Black Powder for something to help that would be ideal as they just don't synergize well with Sword, (or even MH Pistol).
  6. I'd just agree that Dungeon Rush should = Dungeons and not Not-dungeons. But just meow I did 2 more Dungeez and finished the chivo for Cape and get to skip DRMs, thanks @Linken.6345. 😛DRMs aren't content I'd ever want to repeat anymeowre.
  7. No idea what builds people were using, just joined a random LFG with my Rifle MCH (which isn't worthy DPS of Snowcrows list anymore) with Signets, Throw Mine and Birthday Cake. Think only me and 1-2 others were max mastery, some runs had fresh newbies. Only difficult part was in Arah the golem running part with infinite spawn was buggy/annoying/slow so I ended up just running ahead and soloing the boss cuz Engi with Rocket Boots can't be caught or reasoned with. One other person eventually reached me to help kill. Only strong enemies were the Rifle users in Caudecus Manor who use god tier black market guns we don't have access to.

  9. The rush showed me how strong power creep is since we steamrolled them all pretty hard. Faster and easier than Fractals. Arah still takes too long though and is smelly.
  10. Something wrong with my request to see strike variant performance? It's supposed to be hybrid weapon, stated by Anet themselves. If such a request is that upsetting then I guess there's something very wrong with it that needs fixing. Not sure what Condi Herald Hammer has to do anything, it's not a Hybrid weapon.
  11. I've seen that the Pistol is pretty capable of good damage by just camping Fire which is honestly a good thing as Hammer has really exhausted the spam attunement swap thing. I feel like with a weapon like this, especially when dedicated to condi only, you should just focus on Fire and Water for pure DPS (deadly ice bullets are a pretty popular concept more-so than earth/air bullets, ditch water healing for once for one weapon) and just leave Air and Earth for utility only. Fire and Water fulla heavy burns and bleeds, and Air loaded with movement skills (something better than current) and Earth with CC and stronger Defensive things and actually make them interesting/unique looking. The current way of obtaining CC with Air is weird by forcing a dash first. It's already kind of like that in concept but needs to go deeper with very distinct and simple roles for each Element.
  12. That would be weird to link it to /readbook honestly. It should be associated with the actual item. The Minstrel and Verdarach give Novelty instruments. If they wanted to they could add a "Held Item" novelty version of Ipos you can read; with skills on your bar like 'turn page' (with a chance of it driving you mad like Necromancy of Thay in BG3).
  13. Outside of Double Tap I've seen like 1 in years and never in PvP/WvW. Often see Rangers and Necros a lot in both.
  14. One thing Thief does... a lot of to the point that it's their whole theme next to stealth now, is the "Blind" condi. Which is often useless in many situations such as boss fights and a skill commonly forced onto our bar, "Black Powder," is just a dead button most of the time (and bugged with Daredevil dodge). Can we get some Relics that interract with Blind? They've never existed for runes either which always bothered me.
  15. Depends on the person, so best option is always providing scaling options for the player to decide. FFXIV is great with that and gives a ton of control over each UI element. This game won't even let me have a small hud with a large mini-map and large text. Small setting makes entire everything smol. 🥺
  16. If you wanna be realistic, if bleeding is on you for too long it should cause daze as you become dizzy. 😏 Sounds annoying though.

Last I tried Endless Night it felt like they nerfed it's AoE power as it wouldn't strike things in a line anymore unless I targeted someone in far distance, where I used to be able to smack closest target with it and it'd pierce behind them. Also Condi is pretty bad in zerg play so best Specter can do is play a healer everyone underestimates and doesn't want cuz whole community soaking wet for Firebrand.

It's really hard to land Helmet Breaker in PvP cuz of the backroll but I guess that's how they balance it, honestly they could probably remove the ini cost increase due to the difficulty of using it. It's great in PvE. Dust Strike is nice for instant-tagging enemies in PvE, might not need Shortbow anymore. Would be nice in WvW if we had a way to defend ourselves like Stability cuz the Range is just too small to use it there safely as a squish and now we'll have whole armies of Warriors spamming pulls on top of the current pull spam.. Reflect on demand is nice and probably gives us an advantage in instanced PvE, like Fractals, but haven't tried it yet there.
  19. 1. We're not Kratos so we just suck at it. 2. We don't have Leviathan Axe. 3. They're very picky with Thief and/or not too interested in playing it themselves.
  20. That's pretty much everything nowadays. Recycled animations and just add new-ish partical effects. Thief was just slap pre-existing projectile animations/mechanics onto 2 skills and call it a day.... Didn't even bother designing real dual attacks, you just make a short pose. It doesn't even have an auto attack chain like Necro Swords and Thief Scepter, though at least they made it alternate swing sides: That's the most impressive effort in the whole set to me cuz I'm genuinely surprised they did that.
  21. Ranger Dual Mace I didn't have much interest in trying either and tested it 2nd to last. Actually felt pretty strong for soloing things as DPS from what I tried and just simple but effective. Doesn't torment you with Submarine Radar either if it can replace staff for support. 😆

As much as I like Axes as a weapon type if they're not gonna give us a good stationary/non-animation-locking melee weapon, nor give us Dual Axes so we can have an actual complete weapon set and stop getting tortured by Off-hand Pistol flaws, I'd rather just get Off-hand Sword. /Pistol just sucks, is broken (in a bad way) and is boring. Only exists for Breakbars (which can just be improved elsewhere in utilities for Daredevil, plus we got the Staff Buff) and for Dagger/Pistol Stealth in PvP only and for Stealth builds only. We need an Off-hand for Non-stealth builds. For Main-Hand Sword to be a proper weapon instead if we're not getting a good Power Dual Axe. I just really wish we got as much development time and effort as other classes, like Elementalist. Excluding Engineer though, they were robbed, lol.
