  1. Am I wrong in thinking that Antitoxins basically adds a cleanse to any and every Self Cleanse skill you have, but sacrifices a cleanse to every other ally on your team? In comparison to Cleanse on Shouts which is 2 cleanses everytime you use a Shout skill.... Example: Sigil of Cleansing = 1 cleanse, with the Antitoxin relic it is 2 cleanses. IF the icd of Antitoxins was say, 20 or 30 seconds, it will STILL be a cleanse every time you swap weapons which will proc Sigil of Cleansing. So 2 cleanses every 10 seconds with Sigil of Cleansing. "Outgoing condition cleanses removes an additional condition." [this effects an ally only once per ICD] Am I incorrect? EDIT: I'm 99% sure i'm correct. It hasn't changed in sPvP only when you're amongst allies.... which was utterly strong in WvW (and arguably still is unless Relics have unique CD stacking).

  4. Yeah I have to agree, unfortunately. Druid feels like a diet support class compared to supp guard and tempest. I dare say staff ele may be better than supp druid and that's a pretty bold statement. The only time I really liked Druid is when I had two of them on my team, running a toxic CC build. The condi coverages and CC is surprisingly not bad. But a single druid on a team doesn't feel good (imo).
  5. I never carry when I'm support.. but I am probably just trash at supp guard lol. Yeah I don't get the doom and gloom either. If I am able to reach top25 as WB (likely wont stay at that rating I'm sure) then WB can't be in the worse spot ever. But I've always been content with WB just being "OK" in rank pvp. If I AT competitively then that would be a different story. EDIT: Changed away from AH and went Monk's Focus. AH is sooo trashhhh without Staff multiplying the boon heal. Doing the number crunching AH is just bad on WB... Using Smite Condition for Fury + Heal + Condi cleanse... idk why i didn't pick it from the start... EDIT#2: Using Judge instead of Smite lol... (cowards away knowing other wb mains are cringing at me rn) Updated my build
  6. I much rather compare another mmorpg instead of an FPS game whose combat system is NOTHING like Guild Wars 2. That game comparison was atrocious and my explanations serves 0 of your "i got outplayed really badly because I don't like this game's pvp combat system" rant. Some one gets downed, you pull off a safestomp or cleave extremely well. Or perhaps you were on the wrong target to begin with because they have a support who can rez. Burst damage the support. Oh you're not running a meta build? Another mistake you made... better take side nodes and pray you're better than a Ranger main. Oh no you died to a Ranger main even though you knocked him first. You lacked knowledge of a Ranger's downstate prior to entering that engagement, or you just wasn't paying attention to your health and never even decided to kite away. Your constant ignorance throughout these fights is why you keep failing.
  7. That's a huge reach... it's WvW... blob vs blob no matter how coordinated one Captain's school of random fish is, it's still a blob vs blob. You're literally comparing apples vs 50 grapes on a table.
  8. Eh, just space out the three nades when they're thrown. So that there's more risk when spamming them at medium/long range, increase the range of the nades slightly. Increase the damage of individual nades by 4%, all the nades that land up close deals 12% more damage.
  9. Appreciate the input. I've been oddly successful running this spec. I mixed my old Valk burst build with Valor AH and it's what I've been playing for the last 20 games or so. It survives when it needs to survive and has Zerker level bursts when it needs to burst. Cleanse and Purging on sword/focus feels like a free F2 every 10 seconds lol... on top of 2 cleanses every 5 seconds with Resolve signet. Yeah, it will certainly get nerfed. One thing I will say about the build is it takes a lot of boon awareness. You sometimes (most times) have to use "SY" to keep your fury/resolution up to burst some one, even though you would want to save it as a stunbreak. But always try to burst when in scepter/sword for max damage thanks to Compounding and Enhancement sigils. I can't really say I would recommend the build because it really is hard to play compared to the usual WB meta everyone is running but I'm not having issues with Rangers in Ranked, no issues with condi war (i run circles around wars as long as I still have sword#5 and virtues to run away lol) Edit: fixed bold text Edit#2: Upated Build - fixed traits, 9/11/2023
  10. I've answered a lot of your questions so I'm not sure what you're asking. I'll elaborate. If you werent around during that time we had 5mans playing with duo & solo players the queue times were either too long for the top 100 players (7++ minutes) or the match quality was atrocious, which it was. It quite simply did not work even after they changed the queue time algorithm lower/higher. A solely 5man league system WILL fail because it did fail in a larger population. No one here said anything about a soloQ league system being easier. We just don't want to play against any kind of duo/trio/etc composition. The majority of soloQ players want the matches to be as fair as possible and soloQ really would be a more fair league compared to a duo+ comp with comms.
  11. Tell that to the NA and EU PvP playerbase. You have anywhere from 5 to 7 AT teams per 2hr tourney and only slightly more AT teams on EU. There was never a dedicated 5man vs 5man queue system for very obvious reasons, people would be waiting 15minutes+ just to find a game. "Can't have another gamemode because of population" is the BIGGEST myth these forums continue to share. We were rolling Conquest games in tangent with Stronghold back when Stronghold was first released and popular. How is that any different than now? People are already manipulating their duoQ rating. It will just be more difficult to do on a soloQ leaderboard. Not a single system is in place to prevent anyone from match manipulation like what we're seeing in NA and EU. Adding a new gamemode won't make it worse.
  12. We had that and it was garbage for a number of reasons, not to mention the mmr balancing when taking soloQ players into account was a nightmare. AT is the best "5man premade" system this game has ever had. Anet needs to add a dedicated Ranked SoloQ option with its own leaderboards and its own titles, like how every other competitive game has.
  13. The unique Downstate mechanic is not the reason GW2 e-sports failed. I can guarantee you that. It failed because of lack of build variety/class variety outside of Cele Ele. In a lot of ways it was Bunker Wars and it honestly wasn't appealing. i remember watching a tournament where a mesmer used his Portal skill that allowed a downed ele to mist form into it. It was one of the biggest hype situations that ever happened in these IRL GW2 tournaments. You are not going to convince anyone here that downstate should be removed because you got outplayed... and you indeed got outplayed. If you see yourself getting towards 20% health vs a Ranger having the same health or more then you need to leave. Very few classes can 1v1 good rangers consistently.
  14. Then play power untamed. Why pick a slow damaging condi build that only works half the time, then post on forums that you lost to a Thief that doesn't even counter power ranger?
  15. You forgot that a new account's first few games of Placements will automatically be in a game of Plat1+. So there's a chance you will get a player who's never touched PvP going up against tryhards. It's why you see a huge stack of sweaty players on one team while the other side has 1 or 2 plat players with 3 other newbies.
  16. Your first mistake was thinking that condi ranger was good. Just play stealth burst Soulbeast and farm the thief and his entire team, then gain sentience and farm the servers and the dev's work stations. That's how OP Soulbeast is rn.
  17. I agree but this is mostly only for Plat1++, Almost everyone in this thread is below Gold3 and won't experience what you are saying. That's just the honest truth. Anet always had an issue with easy classes like Guardian being a noob stomper class while also being a crappy class conpetitively, outside of core support. WB won't receive the buff it needs for AT competition because of this. And it really sucks.

  19. TL;DR version: "I got outplayed by a ranger in 1v1" I have been playing this game since 2012 and I have never made a forum post about downstate. Because I accepted that unique "second chance" nature of the game. That and there are numerous skills in the game that relies on downstate. It IS part of PvP and I hardly call it messy.
  20. I want to share another build to get some opinions. Assasin's amulet Valor/Radiance/WB. Damage Reduction is 43%, you cleanse 2 conditions every 5 seconds, 2 conditions on every weapon swap... so you don't really need F3 cleanses. 1 SYG on the bar to cover for F3 stab. One of my questions is whether to go Zerks with power & prec runes to get over 60% base crit for a perma 100% crit, or stick with assasins runes for 240% crit damage. I'm pretty sure Zerk amulet would be the way to go (haven't done the numbers yet) but was curious what yall think. It's a fun build though to say the least... hope they don't nerf Antitoxins lol.
  21. I honestly feel like Anet never knew Trapper runes would work so well on DH and have that single rune set define the build. Now that it is gone, so is DH essentially. It's almost like some one hit the delete button without realizing they were directly effecting a meta (pvp) build. They literally deleted a build. Kinda sad.
  22. I'm surprised you're impressed by logic. The removal of superspeed is what I am annoyed about. Do you even realize how much this cripples DH mobility? Imagine an Engineer with zero Superspeed... it would really suck. Stealth has been an ongoing issue with Ranger and DE so yeah, I'm standing by my comment.
  23. Correct. You dont lose dps on a passive trait that reactivates Torch#4 for free. Either it is up and you can use it, or it isn't. Either ways, it's a free AoE burn that you hardly need to think about. It's been a minute since I used Torch#5 but I'm pretty sure you can cancel the animation when trying to use another skill. I recall using Torch#5 and casting Torch#4 in the middle of #5's animation. Torch is terrible in a lot of ways but I think that's a feature not a bug lol.
  24. If you're getting 1shot by a DH then you're doing something very wrong. There's only 1 class in that list that's incredibly difficult to counterplay consistently and it's not harb nor holo lol.
  25. DH trapper runes went from 3s stealth, down to 1second stealth, now 0 stealth lol... (DH got deleted) Let's do the same to Thief and Ranger. Reduce their stealth significantly so we can actually counter play a stealthed Soulbeast's 17k+ Maul instant delete button and the *fade away* burst *fade away* burst DE Thief.
