A Legendary Acquisition
Dark Red Killian.3946 replied to Excursion.9752's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
This is a good point. Having gotten wvw lege armor set myself, and working toward a second set eventually as well as pvp third, I find that I really dislike the grind because I’m not the greatest at those modes, but I put up with it. I even gave up doing warbringer and switched to ad because I really enjoy fractals a whole lot more than wvw. Fractals even has reward system with fractal relics and pristines similar to currency in those other game modes. They could easily allow more legendaries in fractals such as armor, rings, etc. They already have fractal ascended armor you could easily make as the precursor, etc. I almost have full trinkets now, and my question now is do I make a second slumbering conflux, or try for coalescense? I have only done raids a couple of times, so I have a lot to learn there before I can make this ring. -
They charge per equipment and build slot. Legendary equipment is supposed to benefit from that and it really doesn't. They need to fix it because the cost is already implemented in the template purchases. People need to stop trying to sabotage the player base who already pays by implying they don't pay at all. Absolutely THIS! I have bought some equipment and build slots. I have one set if legendary armor. I didn’t know how bad the template system was currently for legendaries until I switched the armor between characters. You have to redo all your templates when switching back. The template system is currently a wreck when it comes to legendaries. Paying for this update would only be a kick in the balls to players with legendaries because they are updating the template system to be more like what it should have been to begin with. It’s currently half done in my opinion.

If you look at the effects of the amulet and ring put together, each a ball that represents the game mode. This doesn’t tie in to the standard aurora, vision, and coalescence trinket effects. My guess is that icebrood saga introduces a ring or amulet that expands the effects of the previous 3 pve trinkets, and then lw 6 after the next expansion will reveal the last one that finishes the effects of having all 5 pve trinkets. That makes the most sense to me. Having the pvp trinkets gives more options, which is a good thing. They may even make more legendary trinkets or armor available through fractals. I mean the game mode is already set up to add these things. It’s only a matter of time. It’s not all going to happen at once.

For everyone on monetizing this system, think a minute about this. They are adding this armory to an existing template system that is already monetized. Give this armory to people, people will want legendaries more, and with more legendaries different build templates. I bet people buy more templates to complement the armory. No need to monetize anything with it. On people who want ascended’s added to armory, like they said, this gives extra incentive to have people build legendaries. If you did it for ascended’s too, it would not make it as inticing to make legendaries, so defeats the purpose almost.

Downstates in my opinion don’t need to go, but they seriously need rebalanced. I’ve played an engineer forever, and if I am down, I am pretty much done. I’ve pretty much nailed down how to hold out in down state for a little bit before someone can rez me, but if no one else is there, I am done. However, it I go and down a mesmer, it’s clone yourself, condi the crap out of your attacker, down them, kill them, rev yourself. Rangers can even call pet to help rez. Engineer is pretty useless in downed state, especially againsts a stomper.

On the visual side of things, they should implement a “wardrobe” for trinkets, allowing the trinket to take appearance of any trinket you have unlocked. This could give people what they want by switching to a different skin if they don’t want the effects. Other people who like to role play can have the skins they want for trinkets. By skin I mean changing the name and icon, while keeping the legendary effect. Anet probably wouldn’t go further and actually put the trinket skins on the character, but that would be cool too to add additional customizations to a character.

Wouldn’t it be good for people wanting to get into raids to experience the raid bosses in a strike mode? Then anyone can play up against a raid boss without the complete version of the raid. They can get good at certain bosses, and then they can take on a raid when they are comfortable. You can get strike kills experience or something like that so people know you’ve killed raid bosses a certain number of times. I would totally be into this for someone who has experienced strikes and not raids yet.

Legendary Trinket Transcendence
Dark Red Killian.3946 replied to Clyan.1593's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
I would have to say after playing pvp for about a month, I have been able to get into some tournaments through lfg. I got 5 matches won already. This one won’t be too bad as long as you can set aside some time to play 3 consecutive games. The 120 ranked games aren’t bad either, but will take some time, especially playing from the beginning (if you aren’t level 20 yet). I am just playing what I can pvp wise in-between working on conflux in wvw and pve strike missions. -
Whether they are compensated or not, I just want to say about people that have crafted 9 sets or armor or more. If you have the time and money dedicated to making this many sets, they probably don’t need compensation in reality. I understand the time it takes to put in for these. If they can make 9 sets, they probably can make any legendary they want. I am not saying Anet should or shouldn’t compensate. Like I said before, perhaps an updated armor set could be offered by trading in duplicates. It doesn’t negate the effort they made, and it doesn’t give them free materials.

Eye of the North & Sun’s Refuge
Dark Red Killian.3946 replied to AllNightPlayer.1286's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
The hall of monuments portal device I use to get to eye of the north, and then I have to way point. I would prefer a portal tome to the new and just get rid of my old one, since you can travel to the old hall of monuments from the new one. -
NPCs in Eye of the North
Dark Red Killian.3946 replied to AngelMouse.7345's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
They need armor repair in the new hub. Also a speed boost or mount use is needed as it’s insanely far to run from trading post to crafting stations. Everything is so far apart. Besides that this is a great upgradable hub. It’s almost like the other portals to convenience places. They do need to upgrade the portal stone. Right now you portal, but then have to spend one silver to go to the way point. -
Group content required for story completion
Dark Red Killian.3946 replied to Mewcifer.5198's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
Yes it’s not the normal that we’re used to, and I thought it was kind of odd they did it this way, but in reality it didn’t matter to me. I just joined the public and dove right in. I ended up doing my own thing and didn’t really count on anyone else. In my opinion it is a mix of open world and story instance. You don’t have to find a group to do it, but it is more fun if more people join in. I wouldn’t really count on this as a new norm, but I think this was a chance to do something different and it works well in the case I believe. Don’t count on this happening in any future actual episodes. -
In the new expansion, perhaps if they add Tengu and Largos, these could be added a couple of different ways: Add a home area for each and include personal story. Even though both races have largely been uninvolved, it doesn’t mean a representative could have had involvement with the pact in the beginning, and moved on to be the commander later on. The Cantha expansion could be where these races get more involved. This option is probably unlikely as that’s a lot of work to involve two new races. The new expansion could allow a player controlled companion. You can make whatever race, old or new, whatever profession you want, and this companion can either be swapped inside or outside of battle, whichever would be better. This gives you a chance to customize a new race, and this character can be involved directly in the new story instances as another member of the commander’s crew, but perhaps a really close companion that does important missions with the commander (or separately from the commander). The key is you control this new character and give it it’s own build and equipment. This option could seem more likely to allow carry over to new stories and not have to worry about new personal stories every time. New customization options would allow anet to continue fashion wars. These companions could be played any time in open world, but like mounts and gliding would be prevented from being in previous story instances. This one really interests me the most. Hoping they could pull something off like this. Almost like heroes in GW, but not exactly.

Why the demand for *more* e-specs?
Dark Red Killian.3946 replied to lezbefriends.7516's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
Engineer has been my main since beginning, so elite specs do add new ways of playing my character without having to switch to a different profession. Build templates make switching between even easier now, which makes me excited for elite spec #3.
