  1. Well yeah. Count on a stupid, uneducated suxon to not read a book.
  2. Yeah yeah Cantha hype.... except if my character has gaping holes in her neck, the expansion is really gonna be a drag. AAAAAAHHHH
  3. Anyone following this probably knows what I'm going to say... Please fix my character's gaping neck wounds
  4. Without the story, I would stop playing. I don't care about competitive endgame content, combat, and quality of life improvements.
  5. I agree, I hate it. Right now, it helps that we can turn character models to "lowest" quality in the graphics, so we get a generic shape representing the race/class. However, their mounts and their backpieces still show. Arenanet needs to add a "hide character model backpieces" option, and a way to toggle mounts to their generic base skins. At that point, the problem would be pretty much solved--the players who don't care for immersion and just want to look shiny can do their thing, and those of us who want everything to fit into the lore and aesthetic of the universe can opt out of seeing the shinies.
  6. Another Tuesday update, and the huge holes are still there. Cmon ANET....
  7. Ugh, yeah you are right. IDK what's going on with that other user's sylvari, but I would not be surprised to find it's tied to the face as well. That's really depressing... the lynx face already has tons of glitches... for instance the eye holes in charr helmets don't go over the lynx face eyes, but above them. Similarly, most eye-glow effects float ABOVE the lynx eyes, making it have the appearance of glowing eyebrows. Unfortunately, I have two charr using the lynx face and that face is FAR too tied to their character, personality, and look--I cannot redesign them. One of my lynx charr is a light-armor wearer using heavy robes, so you can't tell... but that one in the screenshot uses the Raven chestpiece and no shoulder pieces. This is a new glitch, so I HOPE HOPE HOPE they fix it, but the fact the lynx face already has so many other problems they HAVEN'T fixed (even though it's a makeover kit face you have to BUY) makes me worried. My lynx charr in the screenshot has been with me since HoT released, and she is one of my most-played, most-beloved characters. I am really disappointed. This is an old screenshot of the character from before the glitch appeared. https://64.media.tumblr.com/94dafec680fbd1ad44bf4c73b7fe50ff/6f037fe84c55bb5c-15/s1280x1920/0e46d20494430ac6c58e11465e42c2ada04cd162.jpg
  8. I have found out something interesting. This glitch only appears on skinny female charr who were ALREADY skinny. When previewing an already-skinny female charr in the aesthetician, she KEEPS the glitch even when giving her heavier body types. On the other hand, a heavy female charr that does NOT have the glitch, does not show the glitch when choosing the skinny body in the aesthetician preview. I could not see the male sylvari glitch because I don't have a thin male sylvari to begin with, and thus, when changing my sylvari's sex and build in the makeover kit, I am given an un-glitched version. Thin male human and thin male charr do not have the glitch. Is there anyone with a thin female sylvari, female human, and thin male/female of the other races who can check their character for glitching around the neck and shoulders? (Also, I wonder: if I were to change my charr to male in the makeover kit, then buy another makeover kit and change her back to thin female, would the glitch be fixed? It appears it may be)
  9. That's weird it's happening on the thin sylvari too. I wonder if all the skinny body types are glitching out? I'm going to go check.
  10. Here's a screenshot of the issue on my charr. The problem shows on both sides of the neck. https://www.deviantart.com/albaine/art/Gw077-881800210?ga_submit_new=10%3A1622952236
  11. Issue is still there after Tuesday's update. Please fix this--my character's armor set shows her shoulders/neck and it looks really bad. It isn't an issue with the armor, but with the character model itself.
  12. I noticed when logging into my thin female charr today: there are huge gaping holes in her neck. If her shoulder and chestpiece cover the holes you cannot tell. But take the armor off, or wear an armor set that shows her lower neck and shoulders, and the gaping holes are there. Please fix this issue.
  13. I want hideous, battle-scarred faces--for humans and norn, especially human and norn females, but for other races as well. And not just battle scars, but also burns, acne scars, wrinkles, blemishes, missing eyes, the works. More disfigured charr faces too! (Seriously, a race of aggressive warrior cats ought to have more disfigured faces). Oh, and a second mention for messed up FEMALE faces. Not everyone wants a smooth-skinned supermodel, or a lightly-scarred-but-still-supermodel. Give me a lady with empty eye sockets and pockmark scars from some kind of explosion!
  14. Another feature I'd like from WoW: undershirts. Want to use a skimpy piece of gear because it looks nice, but don't want to actually be skimpy? Toggle the undershirt. Want to add an additional color element to your armor set? Toggle the undershirt. Honestly, as someone playing a light-armor female norn, who prefers the 'ferocious mountain fighter' aesthetic over the 'sexy large breast fighter' aesthetic most light-armor sets want to emphasize--undershirts would allow me to use more pieces.
  15. Yeahhhh sorry you're frustrated, but this game is fine for people with jobs/lives. It may not be compatible with YOUR job/life, but that doesn't mean everyone who invests time in it is either unemployed or a child. I work 40-45 hours a week, have a husband and family, errands to run, ect and I still have plenty of time to play.
  16. Basically what the title says. I got an infusion, applied it, and can't see any visual change.
  17. The aesthetic of the Priory, plus the idea of being able to explore vast underground libraries and read a book by torchlight on top of a snowy mountain? That sounds like a hell of a great day.
  18. After watching the trailer for Judgement, I am somewhat excited for the Dragon Eye Infusions. At the same time, I am also worried. The past two eye-altering aesthetic pieces have been a HUGE disappointment to me because they don't fit into my character's eye sockets. When using the Nightspeaker Outfit and Sun-Blessed Vision, the glowing effect appears ABOVE my character's eyes--giving her the appearance of having silly glowing eyebrows. I really want to be able to use these infusions, since I can combine them with an armored headpiece--but I won't use them if they don't actually fit into my character's eye sockets. So please, Anet, make sure this infusion appears where it is meant to for all character faces. My character is a female charr using one of the makeover kit exclusive faces--the lynx face that Vishen Steelshot has.
  19. As a linguist, this saddens me like you probably can't believe.Accents are wonderful beautiful things, and to "scrub" or "purge" them in an attempt to be PC is actually more "racist" (more likely just more ignorant) even if people have good intentions. Trying to tiptoe around some ambiguous label of "appropriation", especially in the context of a high-fantasy game, seems rather futile. Stereotypical would be if all tengu had the exact same tone and personallity and attitude like we saw with them for years. The new tengu npc breaks the stereotype and adds alot of needed diversity to what a tengu is. Based on my experience accents get formed based on multiple diff factors (culture, mood, geographical traits of the land, climate etc) none of which are inherently biological (which is why if you live somewhere where theres an accent for long enough you ar likely to pick uo that accent). Accent dont serve as a tool to stereotype a race of a group, on the contrary its a celebration of their uniqueness and diversity from other races/ ethinicities on the planet.Except there is ample reason for biological accents in GW2... namely because the Tengu are literally bird people speaking out of beak-mouths.I agree that the Tengu should have different tone and personality, and because of that I liked the young high pitched voice of the new Tengu character. However, I did not like the lack of accent--which she should have both because she's talking out of a beak AND because her first language isn't Common.
  20. The Commander isn't some sort of 4th-wall-breaking Speaker of Truth. Just because the Commander said "that's not how it works" does not mean So Shall It Be--it's just the Commander's perception. The Commander was right in that specific situation--you don't become an Elder Dragon Champion by killing the previous Champion. Nor do you get control over an Elder Dragon because you killed its minion--that's akin to thinking you can control Bangar because you killed Crecia or Rytlock... it's nonsense logic, and the Commander saying "that's not how it works" was just a reflection of him/her being baffled by Bangar's nonsense. However, just because Bangar is nuts doesn't mean that a Champion can't command a dragon. Nothing in lore makes it impossible. A Dragon makes itself vulnerable by sharing power with a Champion. While in most cases, a Champion isn't in a position to exploit that vulnerability, the vulnerability exists. Glint used the vulnerability to escape Kralk, and the Commander used it to heavily shape Aurene's development and worldview. Also, I don't know why you are screaming 'LORE BREAK, LORE BREAK' this quickly--Arenanet has not forgotten the lore about not killing more elder dragons, and they aren't going to throw it out the window. Take a deep breath and wait for the rest of the story to play out.
  21. I didn't mind the voice itself--that was fine. What I do mind is the inconsistency. She can have a sweet, high pitched voice but she either needs to have an accent with the voice, or an explanation as to why she doesn't. Heck, she could even make a comment to the effect of "I'm unusually talented at learning other languages" and I'd be fine with it. But when EVERY dominion Tengu up to this point has a heavy accent EXCEPT this young, inexperienced one who has never been around other races before, it's wrong. To see what I mean, go find one of those Tengu merchants in Caledon and interact with him. He'll say "Pleasant greeting" in this clicky, birdy accent.
  22. As usual, people complain about Braham. Reminds me of Rytlock's comment about the Flame Legion to be honest--something about an inability to move on and a repetition of the same outdated stuff over and over? Yeah. People suggesting this is some last ditch effort for relevance on arenanet's part haven't been paying attention. Braham has been building toward this since BEFORE Icebrood Saga started. Remember he broke the tooth of Jormag with a fire-enchanted bow. Then, he had to prove himself to the corrupted Spirits of Ox/Wolverine/Eagle and force their cooperation in Bjora Marches. This was the same thing he did to Primord during this release. His experiences have been training him up to this the entire time. And, in spite of the power difference between a Spirt of the Wild and an Elder Dragon, I think it wouldn't necessarily be a huge step up for Braham to prove himself to Primord because--on a cognitive level--Primord is probably very similar to Ox or Wolverine... right down to the fact that Primord is also corrupted. Heck, even the fire/ice symbolism is a reflection of how Braham has dealt with grief and hardship verses how Ryland does. Braham has coped with pain by becoming angry--sometimes so passionately angry, he directs that rage toward the wrong people and makes dumb choices. Braham runs on emotions--his entire character arc has been learning how to harness the strengths and account for the weaknesses of being an emotional thinker. By contrast, Ryland copes with pain by shutting off his emotions and becoming cold. He learns how others think and learns to manipulate them--but he suppresses his own pain so harshly that he also loses empathy and passion. So, he is the opposite to Braham. Jormag likes Ryland so much because Ryland copes with pain in the same way Jormag has coped with corruption. And we will probably find that Braham's effort to become Primord's champion was successful for the same reason--he deals with pain like Primord deals with corruption--through explosive emotion. So it's safe to say--Arenanet has intended Braham to become Primord's champion for a long, long time... at least since HoT. Now, people who dislike the direction of the story are entitled to their opinion. But I, for one, appreciate the subtle "signs" we have been given since early in Braham's development, pointing to the events of this release. It can't appeal to everyone--no story can--but it isn't sudden, and it isn't poorly thought out.
