  1. Why are you mad, support mesmer used to be the best build in the past before they stripped all of its supportive traits. There are so many interesting builds that will come out of this. I'm particularly happy about bountiful disillusionment. When they changed it to user only I was devastated.. now that they are bringing back the 5 man buffing we are onto a good start! You get baseline healing on every illusions you summon in inspiration which is massive! I believe meta physical rejuvenation is supposed to be used in tandem with mantras. So you have the healing mantras trait, you have healing mantra that you can puls regen with every 10 seconds and if things get spicy you can break stun for everyone with distortion! Or heal through everything. You can have that really cool looking esper healer with virtuoso - the possibilities are endless with chaos and inspiration. Chaos in particular has been a bit rubbish for a while now, giving it all the supportive abilities is a good change... I feel like you just want to be mad for the purpose of being mad... but I might sing a different song when I see actual numbers
  2. I think they should create another trait like with fun mechanic like this. This way we will have 6 specialisations plus 3 elites to chose from... would be nice
  3. I can't disagree with you more but that's because I'm looking at the game from a prospective of pvp. In competitive modes master if fragmentation is one of the strongest grandmasters in illusions and the other 2 have nothing to compete. F1 gives you chance to do more damage. F2 gives you cripple, making your enemies need to burn cleanses or escape skills, not to mention it is a glorious cover condition. F3 gives you an aoe interrupt allowing you to stop revives even if your illusions target wasn't the reviver. And the glorious f4 giving you reflect on demand. Not only does it improve all your shatters it also improves other traits! Master of Fragmentations + Blurred inscriptions gives you reflect on each signet you use! Not only this, but it matches thematically being the opposite of bountiful disillusionment (shatters doing more harm to enemies and shatters giving you boons) With such a big game I feel it is easy to forget that you are playing agin essence 3 different games. Traits that are good in pve can be rather kitten in competitive and vice versa... that said... Desperate decoy, Chaotic Transferrence, Chaotic Interruption, Temporal Enchanter, Mental Defence, Illusionary Inspiration, Malicious Sorcery, Danger Time, Riddle of Sand, Dune Cloak and Infinite forge do need a little love...
  4. Sometimes it will target things without actually targeting I've noticed. I'd click out of a target but it will still keep it cached somehow it's odd
  5. Or stun break... or actually do some proper damage. Something to make up for the loss of defence, projectile block even.
  6. It works exactly the same as for mirage. The only difference is when you play virtuoso and it generates a dagger if you spin into a target. I can't really suggest, I'm more of a pvp player myself but I believe Barry bad mesmer is a big fan of axe chrono. Give him a look on YouTube. I believe he runs marauder and assassins in wvw with Axe shield gs but I might be wrong.
  7. I disagree, it has a pretty good power coincident and quite the strong utilities with the target breaking on Axes of Symetry. It's pretty busted. Seize the moment grants you a lot of quickness and you just dash around wiIts lingering thoughts, and with enough clines you can hop straight to the target and spike them.
  8. I think it works. As mirage is supposed to be the thiefy version of mesmer ranged interrupts sounds about right. Its not any more obnoxious than headshot on thief imho
  9. Honestly with the little time I had to test things out after work yesterday, I've been finding a lot of joy in dagger mirage. But time will tell.
  10. That and give restorative mantras heal on cast back. While at it increase bountiful disillusionment application to 5 people around you and we will have something going.
  11. With mesmers there is a theme - main hands create clones (illusionary leap, illusionary counter, lingering thoughts...) where off hands create phantasms (phantasmal swordsman, phantasmal warden, echo of memory...) as 2 handed weapons have to have both clone generation and phantasms on the skill set the rifle will have to have a new phantasm attached to it somehow which will be cool! An off hand also opens the possibility for different builds tho. That's why so many of the new classes get double welding - guardian with 2 guns, necros with 2 swords - that's double options of new and exciting options! I feel like you might be missing the point with the gunsaber. Gunsaber is not a weapon but a class mechanic. I think of it as a shroud mechanic. Let me explain. Necromancers come with a shroud mechanic by default. They build up their shroud and they can enter it gaining access to new skills and a second health bar but lose access to their utilities. Specters also get a shroud. Second health bar, no access to utilities, second health bar. This is also a class mechanic. Holoforge can also be considered in a way a shroud - you gain access to new skills that build up a "shroud" that empowers your skills, you still have access to your utilities, but to compensate you don't get a second life bar. And Gunsaber mode. Different skills, building up "shroud" that empowers your abilities and so on. Also a class mechanic... Using this analogy you can consider a lot of things just different pieces of the game mashed together and you get that resemblance of what guild wars 1 mixing of classes was: -Willbender is a mixture of guardian and thief. -Specter is a thief and necromancer -Mechanist is engineer and ranger and so on But I'm going on a tangent. I still wish mesmers received even more weapons...
  12. I'm actually excited about a new phantasm for mesmers so I really don't see the need for another mh. Maybe also give them off hand dagger so we can actually look like the virtuoso that introduces you to the spec...
  13. I have one! F skills: Guardian Guardian - passive buffs with strong activatable skills Dragon hunter - passive buffs with strong utilities Firebrand - passive buffs and gaining access to 5 different skills per cast. We will also create a system of recovering amo charges (somewhat like the illusions on mesmer) Willbender - activatable passives and dashes on less than 20s cooldwon each. Mesmer Mesmer - power damage, condi damage, interrupt, defence Chrono - power damage, condi damage, interrupt, defence Mirage - power damage, condi damage, interrupt, defence Virtuoso - power damage, condi damage, interrupt, defence but projectiles I whole heartedly belive that virtuoso could have been such a cool candidate for silimilar system to books as you already had the system in place to recover your charges...
  14. I understand it was a needed change but it kind of stings for the class to be unplayable for 2 years and then half effort a fix that was suggested from the very begining, you know what I mean? Not only that, now that even the damage is nerfed can we get back the cooldown and count of jaunt already...
  15. You are joking but if there is one thing that is consistent with mesmer weapons is that they are wacky out of the box concepts - great sword being ranged, dagger being ranged, axe being an assassin weapon... Imagine having your 1 skill heal people by shooting them in the face. You can target alied champions. Your clones can also be cast on your teammates creating healing turrets. A phantasm that snipes a target that burst heals. Infinite horizon mirage with rifle? Reassigning heal target! Well... one can dream ofcourse...
  16. Absolutely agree. Bountiful disillusionment and illusionary inspiration and we have a proper support build again. It just makes so much sense to rever this as persistence of memory literally has 0 synergy with any other trait.
  17. And that made the game interesting... gave variety and skill expression. Alacrity and Quickness are powerful boons but the amount of taking away from skills that the mesmer has received in the past years without any tradeoffs really makes me wonder where the budget for skills are going... Feels like all specs are slowly taking the lazy approach that virtuoso got (top line = block line, mid line = power line, bottom line=condition line, and there is build craft involved into the spec as everything else is useless) I'm sure designing anything for the game is hard but there are so many traits that are useless and completely overshadowed its competing choices it's just annoying... malicious sorcery, temporal enchanter, desperate decoy and the top inspiration grandmaster that I can't remember the name of as literally noone takes for obvious reasons to name a few...
  18. I like how easy it is to maintain quickness and Alacrity with the changes but wells are kind of useless at this point. No matter got many additional effects you add after 3 seconds they are still rather weak as it is close to impossible to hit the final pulse... but the main reason of the change was to call bunker yet again which is sad...
  19. I miss old escape artist, I believe its functionality can be added to Desperate Decoy but it's new functionality is very very useful in competitive content. Your phantasms can no longer be manipulated by any crowd control like marks and can easily pop traps with no tradeoff. I guess the name is a bit weird but the trait is super good.
  20. Would you look at that, so it does.... as if the weapon was useful enough on its own to have an even scuffed version on the normal specs....
  21. So, dagger feels really weak as it doesnt bring any utility to the board as a mainhand. This has been an issue from the very beginingwhen it was implemented and it shows even more with the weapon mastery, not to mention that it has been nerferd into the ground with the previous patch. Also, for some reason bladecall doent hoam to the target anymore which is odd... It also interacts really oddly with reflects? On top of that we dont seem to have any other traitline that interacts with Blade type skills. Unless you are playing virtuoso you are stuck in playing a power build and the scaling of that is not even great anymore... dagger clones dont seem to trigger the aa flurry which is also dissapointing as you cant take advantage of the Sharper Images in any way... Dagger Ambush, Phantom rasor is also underwhelming. Daze and a little bit of cinditions brings notihng of value to the table really... its a cool concept but the cast time is ridiculous and if someone moves a little they whif. Axe feels nice on its own - if it worked properly that is, I have noticed that clones just dont get teleported at all and I cant work out why - mainly because it brings the said utility. Breaking targeting is such a powerful tool its amazing to dodge someone. But it being broken sucks. Shield as many others have already noted bring requiem back into the mix and requim is just a useless skill... There is a glimmer of idea in everything but it feels scuffed and dissapointing
  22. I suggest a community quarter - changes solely made from community suggestions. Changes that the community wants for their classes. Like make a post like the feedback, let's agree to be civil and not tell the developers how horrible their ideas are and just give constructive criticism about the game. The rest of the year tween all the changes that the community has suggested so its balanced and then bring another community balance even. Either that or I want explanation from the designers as to where exactly bladesong requiem is a useful skill...
  23. We either need to consider blade skills illusions or we need to need to have the illusions attacks prock the flurry of blades. Sharp images is such a cool trait that doesnt take enough use...
