  1. OK, interesting idea however this returns us to the issue at hand - fighting the staff axe build that arena net obviously don't want to be in the game. Also the unique thing about the class is managing the illusions to be efficient. Simplifying everything is not always the way to go (mantra rework and revert case and point)
  2. Why on earth are the strongest offhands the focus of the buff this is ridiculous, why isn't the second dodge a more pressing issue I'm in shock...

I believe that chronomancer as the og alacrity mage needs to be the best at providing the boon rather than using 4 out of your utility slots for barely being able to compete providing it... this way it would feel like you are still the time mage that you are supposed to be. Quickness can have the same concept behind it. They've done a pretty good job at separating the way chrono provides it imho. I di love this idea a lot, the slow traits really need a bit of love too for the theme to be kept. Maybe the crit damage and ceit chance can be added to Danger Time so it can have some sort of space compared to the other 2 traits in the same position.
  9. Its not fulling this purpose tho. Mallicious sorcery is trying to compete with Master of Fragmentation which is infinately better choice. If Mallicious Sorcery is a Grandmaster trait it needs to feel like a grandmaster. The OP suggested Which in my oppinion would fufill both the idea that this is supposed to be a grandmaster and also invite people to use scepters more. +70% cast speed (the stacked value of quickness plus the grandmaster) sounds pretty juicy and would also solve the mantra hate issue.

  11. To be fair I would prefer mirage be reworked than deleted. In its current state it doesnt see any play in competetive modes. Reworking the traits and the class as a whole is better than it staying in a place where it is unplayable. With the ammount of waiting we've done, however, the rework doesnt need to be just passable but it needs to be great. For the 3 years of radio silence a rework needs to completely shake the spec and can not be just "Cant mirage cloack when imobilised so it can be balanced". I guess that on the next preview of the balance come may there needs to be a serious roar from the community if no Mirage changes are mentioned...

Waffles, I have been keeping an eye of your coments lately and whenever you are not trying to promote your youtube channel with 16 videos you are always pingponging between yes dodge and no dodge. There is literally no way you can entertain the idea that 1 dodge mirage is a good idea especially when vidicator, the experiment to justify 1 dodge specs, flopped and was almost immediately hotfixed. Virtusos are turning into what mirage used to be anyways either with Signet of Illusion + Distortion, or Blurred Inscriptions, heck even if you run mimic and Blade Renewal you can stay invulnerable for good while. On top of that you also sprincle some agies in case you screw your timing. Literally no excuse to have a spec built around a dodge and remove the endurence from them. Vindicator wasnt fun with one dodge, Daredevil with one dodge wouldnt be fun either, and the nerfs that the class received to balance this completely destroyed every aspect of the class but the actual numbers of the mirage which seems to be the main issue apparently.
  13. Instant cast, no animation or option for reaction is just as bad on the reseaving end, but my issue with the mesmer mantras is that they have longer cast times than every single elite skill and not nearly as strong as such.
  14. Yes yes yes a million times yes. When they initially changed the mantras (and turned them into shouts) they were alright skills. Mantra of Distraction was a great way to get your Diversion back and with the change they completely scrapped the idea or thought about mesmers extra efects becasue their new elite spec (their new selling point) is suffering. I am a firm believer that different skill types should be unique. Removing the cast time completely removes the unique flavour of the skill.but for 2 second cast time the skill needs to be doing my taxes at least... I propose either halving the cast time or giving them another charge and buffing the effect a little bit. Or even bring that weird 400 thoughness back. Mantra of Concentration used to grant quickness which was nifty. There needs to be something that can make the cast time appealing for high risk high reward type of gameplay...
  15. maybe while they are on the reverting weird changes they can look into reverting Bountiful Disillusionment to splash boons to allies again, so we can have some support presence again. I have high hopes for the next patch but I feel like I might be severely dissapointed.

  17. I fully agree with you, despite the fact that your quickness example is a bit misguided. You would get the benefit of the shatter despite of the fact who has the the agro of the clones, you wont get the damaging effect. If we are going to expand on theory and what could have, Kroof has this interesting theory video about a desired rework of chronomancer shatters. I am not a huge fan of their other videos but some of their ideas were actually pretty good. To summerize they suggest allowing clones to retarget on shatter which I believe is an interesting idea. About Distortion, however, you have great way to quickly generate clones. with Miror Images or Decoy (if you are also running Escape Artist) to get a better utilisation of the skill, 1 second is more tha nenough to negate a heavy hitter most of the time. Chronomancer in competetive is usually built as a glass cannon. Giving them the ability to aslo negate all damage at any given point would be unhealthy. It is hard to balance the game properly though. Guild Wars 2 as a whole has this issue where it balances for different game modes. This is obviosuly with the virtuoso elite speec where anything other than 1 1 1 is useless in competetive, where if you are not running 3 2 3 (2 2 3 if you are doing power) in PvE you are losing on damage and optimisation. That being said, there are quite a few traits that feel out of place and useless in most game modes: - Desperate Decoy and Escape Artist should be merged in the same trait. - Recently changed Temporal Enchanter - Mental Defence is hardly ever used in any game mode especially with 90 second cooldown in competetive for a single second of taunt. - Chaotic Transference has a rediculous coodwont and can not compete with the traits in the same line. - Danger Time can not even compete with Improved Alacrity in no game mode - I am yet to see anyone use Dune Cloak - Infinate Forge provides nothing over the other two traits and is never ever used.
  18. Shake it off is a shout, though, and mantras are a completely different type of skill. Mantras never should have been turned into shouts in the first place. I am a firm believer that the cast time needs to be halved and the skills would feel much much better.
  19. Clones and phantasms are one of the most original idea i have ever seen in any game and using them as ammunition is such a great concept in my honest opinion. Chronomancer never had an issue getting clones up. It is all about timing and waiting for your phantasms to turn into clones. That being said, however, they did toy with the idea of having more base clone generation in competetive game modes - Phantasmal Warlock casted 2 phantasms and so did Illusinary Counter respectively with clones. I thought that was a wonderful idea but it was nerfed not even year later... In the curent state of the mantras I belive we either need a bit of a boost in numbers or half the charge time.
  20. I understand what you are saying however when the change was initially made they specifically informed players that Restoritive Mantras is changed as well. Ther was no reason for people to belive that with this patch there is a change to the trait. I am happy to agree to dissagree.
  21. The change was undocumented and the explanations of the skills were vague. There was no way we could have seen this. The skill currently in game is reverted in folunctionality but it still keeps the tool tip that had to be hotfixed when they were changed initially...
  22. We can all agree that them mentioning mirages second dodge when vindicator endurance system was updates gave mesmers something to hold on and the notion that it will be addressed shortly. I dont think that there is any excuse for them to tease it and then act as if nothing was said in 2 consecutive balance patches. I belive that if in march there aren't any changes for the mirage there will be quite a few very very upset players. People will revolt.
