  1. So what's a raiding game then? WoW is a game which, among other content, has raids, so by your definition WoW is also NOT a raiding game. GW2 is a game which, among other content, has solo story content. So is GW2 not a "solo story content" game? If a type of content exists in a game, then that's part of the game. I thought that was self evident. Wow is a raiding game because its entire game is centred around the gear treadmill, with raids at the core of this model. GW2 and GW1 for that matter targeted a very different audience and game style where raiding is a side activity. instead gw2 spreads content between open world pve, wvw, pvp.insysnced content, then last of all raids. Achievement in GW2 is primarily about gameplay and collecting, Not power in an instance. This is why GW2 became as successful as it was. And not another wildstar. I don't think raiders are advocating for GW2 to suddenly have never ending progressive gear treadmill's attached to raids though. Personally, I'm down for more open world content, more WvW and PvP, content, and also more COOP content like dungeons or raids. I've never once been interested in a gear treadmill associated with any of them though. I don't think its a stretch to say that many GW2 players want to strive towards having the best gear they can have for their characters without desiring an endless treadmill, just the peak that exists as it has for a long time in this game (ascended, maybe some legendary here and there as a long term goal). The introduction of more ways to get that gear is nice. I don't think you'll find very many people who will say they literally don't care about their gear at all.
  2. I mean, you can choose to ignore the mechanics of the fight and turn it into a 30 minute health sponge, or you can do it the way its meant to be done and beat it in about 5 minutes. That's not the the encounter's fault you chose option 1. This is blatently false. The best level of gear in the game (ascended, or legendary if you want stat swapping) was always and can still be 100% acquired without ever doing raids.
  3. So what's a raiding game then? WoW is a game which, among other content, has raids, so by your definition WoW is also NOT a raiding game. 4. Raids exist in GW2, therefore GW2 is a "raiding game" unless there's another definition of that you're using. I do really like your idea about open world dungeon type areas with higher spawn rates and harder enemies.
  5. I'll repost this because you purposely glossed over it. "You can try to twist it all you want but when people come to the forums to tell arenanet they won't ever play strikes, its because they want arenanet to stop making strikes ---> they're asking for the removal of COOP content. If they were content to just let players play the things they like, they wouldn't be in the forums making statements like "small scale group content isn't MMO content" People don't come to the forums contantly stating they'll never play raids or ever play strikes because they're content to just let people play those things. They do so to effect change in Arenanet and try to disuade them from making that content in the future. If you don't understand that then you really are only looking at things at a very base level.
  6. LFR raids in WoW come with the lowest possible level of rewards as well though, in some cases (WoD I believe) LFR raids only gave out slightly upgraded versions of dungeon loot, not even raid loot. The problem here is some (not all) of the people asking for easy raids are asking to get the same rewards no matter what difficulty. If Arenanet wants to impliment tiers of raids with tiered loot. Sure why not. Tier 100 fractals don't give the same rewards as tier 1.
  7. This post is about someone saying strikes wont make them raid. This post is not about coop story content. Are you in the right place? Also the context of what you quoted has nothing to do with your response.
  8. I'm saying I've never once seen an LI requirement and you're saying its taking over all of Strikes. Considering 4 people immediately responded saying they've never once seen an LI requirement and I still day in and day out literally NEVER see an LI requirement in the strike LFG channel, which one of us do you think is stretching the truth? Edit: just logged on and looked again. Four groups up, one even for CM forging steel, and none of them have LI requirements.
  9. Revealed is generally a negative status that can be placed on any stealthed character by certain other classes, ranger and engineer come to mind. It's not meant to be a benefit for thieves. It's literally a debuff, why you would expect arenanet to make it benefit your thief is beyond me.
  10. Que? Where can I read said announcement?
  11. Literally fake news. I've been doing pug strikes every day and NEVER once seen an LI requirement.
  12. Easy.. . You Que for a dungeon.40% more health40% more dps40% more healing received You should have no problem healing yourself or getting a few AOE heals from the group to be able to handle any dungeon. Maybe add 20% damage reduction to if you need to. Those numbers are extremely unrealistic. Why not just make it so when you enter, all the bosses just die instantly? That's taking "challenging group content (Arenanet's purposeful design)" and turning it into a joke simply because some people can't be bothered to better themselves. Even WoW's dungeon queue only added 5% - 15% to the things you're describing and that already turns the dungeons into a walking simulator.
  13. This needs to be reiterated. Raiders aren't coming on the forums demanding arenanet stop making story content or single player content. But toxic single player gamers who don't want to interact with anyone ever are on here demanding arenanet stop making any coop content every time arenanet introduces any kind of new coop content.
  14. How would you propose a queue system in this game work? Other MMOs have the regular Tank, Healer, DPS trinity to role queue. Here we don't have that but we do have a soft group subset. While not 100% required, things like alacrity support, quickness support, healers, banner warrior, and the appropriate tank make raids 10x more manageable than not having any of those. If you just throw 10 randos into a raid queue you could end up with literally none of those things.
  15. I hope you see the irony of telling people scourge wasn't made for them if they don't like it, while complaining about shroud mechanic.
  16. Never going to happen, good luck with your angst.
  17. Here's the original comment I replied to, I'm going to quote it right now. "I have a question: I have 9 legendary armor sets, 9 legendary backpacks, a lot of weapons. What compensation will I get when this update comes?" This person isn't asking IF they can get any compensation, they are jumping directly to "What compensations will I be getting." That is literally the definition of entitlement.
  18. You're not being "cheated" out of anything. You made use of a benefit that existed at the time. Now, years later the system is changing. You don't get to demand refunding for something you used for potentially years now that something is changing.
  19. Already did. It's precisely the same thing. The game changing now doesn't take away from the benefit they got of having multiple armor sets at the time. If there was no benefit to making multiple legendary armor sets, then they wouldn't have done it, but there 100% was. Again, to act entitled to something now, despite having used the benefit for as long as it existed, is exactly the same as demanding a refund because you paid full price for an expac on release just because it went on sale years later.
  20. I have to assume you made bolt twice a long time ago before the 2nd gen legendary weapons came around, otherwise you would have made one of each. Assuming this is the case, you got literal years of benefit from the two before this change is implemented. You are entitled to nothing. This is like demanding arenanet refund you because you bought an expac on release at full price and then 5 years later it went on sale.
  21. Why do you feel entitled to any? This is the same as people demanding they get compensated when an expac goes on sale 4 years after release simply because they bought it at release. Those people aren't entitled to anything and neither are you.
  22. Whether you had 5 or a full group doesn't matter, the instance can be soloed. The boss can be done in under 10 minutes. Just because your group didn't listen to anything the game told them and failed to do any of the mechanics as they are meant to be done doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the encounter. The problem lies elsewhere.
  23. This isn't Icebrood Saga episode 3. Visions of the past is entirely new and it seems its going to be group oriented content, while living world updates (Icebrood saga episodes) intend to be single player. So yes, by demanding they make visions of the past exactly like living world, you are demanding they don't make group content, because this is new group content and you're demanding it not be. How is that unclear?
  24. I'm not demanding they stop making single player encounters in the game, the OP is trying to prevent ANET from making multiplayer content. See the difference? Also you very clearly have stated several times now that MMO means MASSIVE only and NOT multiplayer.
  25. However, there is something VERY multiplayer about it. Yeah, but nothing with massively multiplayer. Just lobby multiplayer /shrugAh yes, so dungeons should never be allowed in an MMO ever, gotcha. Everyone knows successful MMOs only have 100% completely single player experiences or 100 people blobfests with nothing in between. Of course, how have all these other successful MMOs survived with all their 5 and 10 man dungeons. Clearly they need to get with the times.
