  1. Add some rewards that scale by scoring efficiency. A solo roamer who flips two basic camps in five minutes adds 4 points to the war score. A twenty-man squad who flips an undefended, fortified keep in that same time only adds 1 point each to the war score.
  2. Why do people keep claiming that Thief is dead without access to stealth? I've fought many thieves in the Sandstorm area around Earth Keep over the years. Some I absolutely destroyed, some were good fights that went either way, and some destroyed me, despite not having the ability to stealth at all.
  3. I've won every event... multiple times. I've even gotten enough stacks of Lucky Aura to open all 12 chests a couple times. I would imagine that skilled thief mains (which I'm not) would do even better.
  4. I really want to try playing Knockback Social Awkwardness pool with enemies. Social Awkwardness ignores Stability, so theoretically, only the first person in a chain would need to be without it.
  5. I'd love to see Social Awkwardness applied to a 50+ group stacked at the usual catapult spot at Hills Keep.
  6. While I haven't seen it recently since I don't spend a lot of time on those maps these days, I've witnessed many arguments between Meta Event Commanders and HP Train or Bounty Train Commanders with both claiming it's "their map" and the other group should leave.
  7. I'm aware that GvG numbers are standardized. My point was that I wouldn't be surprised if a significant portion of BG considered twenty a "small group". After playing 3 hours tonight, I managed to get eleven 1v1s with CD and zero with BG. I can't speak for others, but I'm certainly not enjoying fighting them.
  8. Different servers have different definitions for group sizes. I just got ran over by a group of five, otherwise known as a BG solo roamer, at a camp.
  9. My Nomad Deadeye is far from fragile and can make plenty of mistakes.
  10. Personally, I'd prefer they occupy space on sparsely populated maps. When a keep needs defending, I want there to be population space for engaged players to come save it.
  11. They're not going to be engaged any way. Do you want them unengaged in a queued map or do you want them unengaged in a sparsely populated map?
  12. If only those 15 semi-AFK pip farmers had some sort of incentive to play on a sparsely populated map rather than a queued one.
  13. While the pip change has positively affected me personally, I wonder about the overall effect. I play both PvE and WvW and I find myself more incentivized to play WvW during my server's strong times and to play PvE during the weak times. Previously, it was the opposite. Before Pip Change Server's Strong Times: 11 Pips per Tick (First Place) Server's Weak Times: 14 Pips per Tick (Third Place + Outnumbered) After Pip Change Server's Strong Times: 13 Pips per Tick (First Place) Server's Weak Times: 11 Pips per Tick (Third Place) There should be some incentive for players to play during weaker time periods. After all, they play a role in creating content for the opposing servers.
  14. Your time is better spent in another game mode to get Memories of Battle. Two days (roughly 2 hours of total play time) of Daily Tier 4 and Recommended Fractals will yield more than enough gold to buy the Memories of Battle needed for The Hunter. You won't get anywhere near that time efficiency in WvW, even if you had a full map of the best players supporting you. Edit: The Hunter is also one of those precursors that's cheaper to buy than to complete the crafting collection.
  15. No it didn't. It merely concentrated them into EBG, where semi-AFK repairing is still viable.
  16. They also disincentivized some active gameplay in the process. I'm less inclined to solo towers now... something I've been doing regularly this linking since we get k-trained every night. This wasn't addressed. EBG is the only map that gives 10 minutes of grace time for defend events, so semi-afk repairing SMC, which frequently has defend events running, still works.
  17. It's happened to me a couple of times over the years and I reported it. I'm not sure what causes it though. I was not able to change back to normal form unless I switched maps or entered down state.
  18. Red Desert Borderland Keep Defense (Repair Only): Same as other borderlands. No grace period for repair itself or successful (gold) defense event completion. Keep Defense (Kill Only): Same as other borderlands. 10 minutes grace for kill itself, nothing for defense event completion. Eternal Battlegrounds Keep Defense: (Repair Only): Had 6 minutes of grace time. Put 10 supply into wall. Bronze defense event completion yielded 10 minutes of grace time. Tower Defense (Kill Only): Bronze defense event completion from one kill. Got 10 minutes grace period from both the kill and the event completion. Failed Tower Defense (Repair Only): Put 10 supply into a wall. The enemy flipped it and I got 10 minutes of grace time with the failed defend event completion. Thus, my experience matches HazyDaisy's. Defense event completion (regardless of Bronze, Silver, or Gold) on borderlands does not provide grace time. Defense event completion, successful or failed, on EBG grants 10 minutes of grace time.
  19. Here's my latest Keep defense on Green Alpine Borderland. This involved both kills and 25 supply worth of repairs. Note that the grace period did not increase to 10 minutes. https://i.imgur.com/GdjlvSS.jpg
  20. Here's my experience so far from tonight. Blue Alpine Borderland Keep Defense (Repair Only): I had less than 2 minutes of grace time remaining. I repaired the gate with 22 supply. The repair did not affect the grace time. The defend event completed and that did not affect the grace time either. Keep Defense (Kill Only): My grace time went up to 10 minutes after killing the attackers. The defend event completed just under 2 minutes later and my grace time did not go back up to 10 minutes. Camp Defense (Kill Only): Same as above. The kill got me 10 minutes and the defend event completion did not. Green Alpine Borderland Keep Defense (Repair Only): Started with 4 minutes of grace time. I repaired the gate with 43 supply. No grace time from repair or completion of defense event. Keep Defense (Kill Only): Killed enemy siege, giving me 5 minutes of grace time. Killed an enemy player after, giving me 10 minutes of grace time. Completion of the defense event, roughly 1 minute after the last kill, did not provide any additional grace time. Tower Defense (Repair Only): Same result as keep defense. Tower Defense (Kill Only): Same result as keep defense. Camp Defense (Kill Only): 10 minutes from kill, nothing added from completion event. Both Desert Borderland and Eternal Battlegrounds are queued right now, but will try those when I can.
  21. I just got Silver on a camp defense on Alpine Borderland. 10 minutes for the kill, nothing added for the defense event completion.
  22. It seems a bit off to me. I can follow a friendly group and stand in their capture circles, never using my skills, and keep getting 10 minute participation grace periods. If I try to solo a tower, I'm losing participation every step of the way until I kill the lord. The first is objectively less effort on my part, but far more rewarding from a participation standpoint.
  23. It's reasonable to ask that a seller list all of the things included in a package. It's unreasonable to ask a seller to list all of the things not included in a package. There are hundreds of items on the Gem Store not included with any package. Should ArenaNet add a disclaimer listing of all of those items individually as not included?
