  1. Perfect invisibility 1HKO with melee hitboxes the size of 3 player hitboxes. Truly GW2 is innovative if this kind of gameplay is regarded as "high skill." What is "high" skill in this game?
  2. If you want to talk about trap as counterplay. Vault like most of thief attacks can be pre casted and hit the trapper before trap is triggered. You will need a very dumb thief to get killed by traps after the trapper is down. If you think block / dodge /immunity should do. We have very limited of those and no one can pop defense without any awareness of from where and when the thief will attack. Remember stealth + teleport. Maybe only bunker can survive the initial attack and pop their defensive cooldown. But by that time the game should be called 1-shot vs bunker instead of pvp. That may be true, but thief can decide not to attack until its target uses all of defensive cooldown. I'm not sure what you're saying here. The trap in question has to trigger before the thief can port, that's the tell. You said yourself that the timing is 10 seconds - so that's how long the thief has to respond to the trigger. The "trapee" should start rotating his defensive abilities when the tell goes off. Remember this is a 1shot build you're talking about, this isn't a marauder geared thief with tons of cds - he has 11k hp, most likely no escapes on bar and is built only to 1shot his opponent. All you have to do is avoid that first hit and you basically won the fight. It would be very difficult to lose to a thief who has blown all his kitten on a 1shot maneuver and failed to connect it. I find it interesting that the clip doesn't show the before or after, because the thief in the video was clearly afk until you triggered the trap and then probably died to your teammates after he downed you. The one thing I might agree on is the "tell" not accurately predicting the attack since it has a 10s window. But there are a few things about this.First, the thief should be out doing other things - not placing the trap and then sitting afk until someone triggers it. This means he won't have full INI or utilities. If he is sitting there, that's a boon for your team and you can adjust accordingly. But he should be in combat already which means he won't be coming into the fight fully prepared. Second, if you know the guy is trapping the nodes, you can simply avoid the trap by dodging into the node. Third, this trap isn't substantially different from any other stealth or teleport tactics, which are used by tons of builds in this game, not just thief. TLDR is, there's a reason why nobody uses this trap and why people are so confused about the visuals, the reason is that the ability is junk.   3. You guys like to feel good with your psuedo bunker, tinking you're a god when you 3-1, maybe you don't make the kills but they can't kill you or take the point. That's healthy, but when an evil, cackling thief comes along and ends your parade witha boom (1 shooooooooooot), it ain't so fun anymore. Well, as long as you can run around and tank a 3 v 1, there will be a troll out there that can catch you butt off guard and end it in an instant. as thief damage goes down, so do auto life saving procs and protection and regen and adrenaline health. Because regardless of what you "feels"... Thieves are supposed to be deadly in 1 v 1...it is the only class upon creation that says so. Things changed? They didn't update the description and people still complain about thieves...so no...you are wrong. Nothing has changed. That's why the devs nerf true meme builds that prolong their life and fights too long, and why there are still one shots around. Also this is not something any thief can do. It's not common...it takes time and skill, that most thieves don't have. Your butt got owned, remember the name cause it may save your life considering how rare this sheet is.
  4. So you're saying mesmer won't counter deadeye of any variety? Or daredevil? The only place I could see deadeye being useful right now is in mid against guardians and scourges, but since this deadeye build will still get instantly killed by the aforementioned mesmer and/or ranger and/or opposing thief, why would anyone justify the slot to bring deadeye? In the end it's still a liability to the team. Right now with this build you will instadie to mesmer, ranger, other thieves, engineers, and some guardians and warriors who know how to press their buttons. Ele is possibly a win and necro is a guaranteed win most of the time. Rev I'm not sure about. So you lose against 6 classes and win against 2, with maybe the rev as potential third win. So losing 66%+ of your fights and contributing nothing to the meta is op in your eyes? I agree with most of his statements coz, spvp mostly tries to put a thief in your team too if enemy has one.... So no point in debating against them, but as a single class which has high dmg output, max stealth/mobility , thieves can frustrate bunker and class that stay on single place(necros, guards, warriors,...)seems like if they can frustrate a bunker...it's a good thing

  6. this is not a normal/typical staff player. all i ever seen this guy play (said seen, not always watching) is this 1 shot staff. No one in the last ~2 years ( i'd go back about more than 2 years, but staff was cheeze then haha) have I seen do it as well. So when it happens once or I see Wilhelm I know to be "on guard" lol.

I look at this way: My personal character in game has lore from my own mind.Of course, nothing I do affects the world, except my own.So I named my sylvari character Moon Floss, that is another phrase for toilet paper. Also the on this character I avoid the main story and cut scenes because again, in my mind he talks with deep southern accent and likes to eat French fries

Perhaps the window that holds that is somehow empty? Maybe thats why the person a few up shows the control icons for the window.

  12. Cool thing about this game once you block someone, other than seeing their toon, or them logging into another account, you have zero communication with the blocked. I can't remember, but I don't even think you can see their emotes. ESO dueling I play the game, it's not all harasasment and annoyance. If anything I become a spectator if I don't want to participate.
  13. I can't really speak for wow dueling, but there is a game that adreeses many of the "fairness" complaints, as well as the requests-for-duels complaints in their dueling system.   16. Er - literally no one is claiming this, least of all mesmer players. The only difference in opinion is the accuracy as to the specific areas that are unbalanced, rather than senseless emotional ranting.I guess they took down the WvW/PvP split balance thread that previewed the balance update. I assume with a balance path the claim would be that "all is balanced" lol. Also, that was sarcasm. I know that literally no player that is not a mesmer main (or that will be) would make this claim.
  17. I am willing to "learn to play". Will the proponents of the current Mesmer and developers like to explain to "all of us" how we can prevail with skill and tactics against today's Mesmer? If you could keep it brief, neutral, and perhaps bullet your points, it would do so much for the community. Not every player is a top 10, 50, 100...250 player, and we will still have to fight what seems like a insurmountable battle. I, among others, would appreciate some guidance. The claim is that they are balanced, after all.
  18. Realistically if you do not revoke any competitive titles, you have done nothing. If you as a company/organization really believe that your loyal paying customers will leave you for reprimanding/eliminating cheaters from your game, what does that say that you think about them? One must conclude that you believe we are all cheaters and will leave if we see a cheater punished.10-20 customers that scam the system being removed publicly will drive up sales, not down. Honestly not many care about watching some cheaters that post some crappy youtube videos of their digital barbie dolls fighting wvw noobs trying to get dailies.3 months? Pfft...delete their accounts. even if you have to refund you will benefit in the long run. Show the garbage who is boss.

  20. I have seen a lot of players moving a bit faster than normal without buffs. If I have superspeed, a necro outruns me. If I use shadowstep and shortbow 5, 5, 5 (with swiftness)... a guardian hawks me down.Some players without signets or buffs (non-wars or rangers) seems to be moving faster than 25% speed buff. Its not always a max out warp around the map buff, just nough so you cant keep up with them. Am I crazy, or is this a thing?

  22. The game is/was Asian inspired but I can't help but wonder if the continent Asia lies on the Tyrian world. Is Tyria really just earth? I would think not. Maybe the hyoomanz were brought to Tyria on a spaceship from earth by the "Gods of Tyria", but if not I think calling Canthans to be Asians....wrong.
  23. In my opinion the core game was for all races, from the start to the pact. HoT was focused on the Sylvari and their dragon daddy...and PoF was the Mount race...lol, get it "mount" race.... Anyways 250-300 years is enough time for a lot of changes to have happened, or perhaps it is still full of xenophobic hyoomuns. I would mind visiting any new area either, but I feel that the claim that an expansion focused on humans could really only be applied PoF. Sylvari are new, Asurans only surfaced 250-350, as far as what I saw in EotN. The norn just seemed kinda tossed in, and hard to believe that they never had to fight any of the midgets...errr...dwarves. For all we know the next expansion will take place on islands and you travel by a mini boat, like in windwaker or one piece lol
