  1. Which reward is 'locked' behind Fireworks Launcher? Can't be the Meta Reward, as that has a 20-achievement leeway. The Master of ceremonies achievement for the concert requires hitting a target with the fireworks launcher. That one was the worst for me to get but I somehow managed it after spending time working on the Prolific Popper achieve. So, 5 AP is the "few awards worth collecting"? Again, one can skip 20 of the Achievements and still acquire the Meta Reward. Yes I know you can skip some of the achievements. I was just clarifying that the fireworks launcher is required for the Master of Ceremonies achievement. In addition, in order to complete the Merchandise Collector achievement, you need the Master of Ceremonies completed so you can buy the Voice of Metal (that is, if you don't run PVP/WvW Reward tracks as an alternative)

  3. It is a normal Friday reset and the lag on EBG is utterly horrendous this evening. Last week we had no issues running zerg etc but tonight it is horrible. We are on IP 18.235.24.238 if that helps.
  4. I just spent 250 on the Voice of Metal and received credit towards Picante. I then purchased the 2 Rare recipes for 25 Hatched Chilli's each but was not credited. If there is a set of requirements/limitations it should be clarified.
  5. Then explain why the Heart of Thorns wings are so much more popular. It can't be difficulty because Wings 6 and 7 are rather easy, even compared to 1,2,3.Adding more rewards to existing raids won't do them any good. But it's good to consider better rewards for the future. They are more popular bc those who want to get into raids and/or gain PVE legendary understand that Wings 1-3 are the first collection. W4 (other than Deimos) is super easy to learn and run ppl through but players want Q1-3 because they know it will get them closer to the legendary gear collection completion.
  6. I created a thread earlier reporting the same thing. Glad to see someone else post! https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/88024/bug-cannot-queue-for-either-ranked-or-unranked-pvp
  7. This happened earlier today. We had a bunch of players join our squad and map transfer to our instance that wasn't bugged. You didn't happen to get the IP and send an in-game report with the IP address did you?
  8. Update: repaired client, flushed cache, restarted etc and still cannot queue. I can move about/play PVE + WvW but cannot queue
  9. Yeah but you cannot complete the 2 collections that way. I see the OPs point but I agree with others ... if Legendary armour comes to PVE, it will be through fractals not through something like strike missions. I can say, I do agree with OP regarding rewards, atm there is simply no motivation to keep repeating. I get that we have a chance at the Ebon Shoulders but a "chance" based on RNG really isn't a huge motivator to me. It would be nice if they had their own unique wallet based currency like Beetle races and offered something to work for.
  10. I posted in Gailie's old "stuck in queue" thread but my issue is that I am currently in the lobby on IP 35.175.81.198 and I cannot queue. I have restarted the game etc and both the Play and Compete buttons will not work. I asked in map chat and a number of other players are mentioning that they cannot queue at all right now either. I was fine until daily reset occurred. P.S. I hoped the patch that just dropped would have fixed it but I still can't queue :disappointed:
  11. IP 35.175.81.198 myself and a number of other players cannot queue at all right now. I was fine until daily reset occurred.
  12. Hi Everyone, Here's a link to Reddit that discusses how to complete the POI: When I posted yesterday, I didn't realise that the symbols change daily as it was before reset. Last night while helping some guildies, I found this thread on Reddit and it helped. https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/d5qmwd/updated_map_guide_for_all_tree_symbols_for_the/
  13. Thank you for this. We had someone on our map tag up and mark the trees which was super helpful. I took a screencap of the commander's map icons: https://imgur.com/saTAJpD A couple of tips to add-on to your post: -- You must click on the trees in the correct order starting at NE (arrow), SE (Circle), SW (Heart), NW (Square)-- Only click on a tree once! There will be a tiny/short audio squish sound and no visual icon etc-- You will know you clicked twice on a tree if you get caught on fire (if this happens, re-start at Arrow)-- When you get the order correct, you will get a dialog box asking if you want to be ported Thanks to OP for creating this post!
  14. I just mentioned in guild chat that I haven't completed an event in this game that had me cracked up laughing like the concert meta. What a blast! To put so many micro events into such a short time-frame is really an accomplishment by the devs. I seriously never thought I would find myself in a mosh pit in GW2!
  15. This is me. I port at times - not as much as I could because mesmer's not my main, but tips aren't my reason for doing it. It helps other players, even on the easy JPs, and there's usually some fun chat while hanging around doing the ports. No tips necessary (and I don't expect them either, usually return them - I like the idea upthread of returning the tip plus adding a bit on for new players too, I'll remember that one).On the other side of the equation, I don't often tip at the easy daily JPs - but the person who coached me through getting the dive at the top of Not So Secret, or the one who spent time coaching me through Skipping Stones? Here, my saviours, have much gold. Worth it to me for the time and aggro saved. I have to agree, most of the daily JPs are relatively straight forward but there are some where I just HAD to tip.... even if they said no. The mesmer in Drytop got a hefty tip, the mesmer in Draconis Mons and Ember Bay got hefty tips as did the mesmer who was at the end of the goggles in Not So Secret (I think I sent a virtual kiss and hug too!)... I still have nightmares about NSS
  16. Hey there,One thing I had to learn was not to take it personally (not that you are) when a tip gets returned. In real life, it is kind of insulting to have a gift returned. However, in GW2 I have found that there are so many "pay per service" and "tips required" in the LFG postings that those who are sending the tips back are doing so because they don't want the community to feel obligated to, or be told to tip, the mesmer who ports them. I think each person who ports has their own philosophy... I once tipped someone and they sent me back magic find food. Most of the time the ppl who port are just doing so bc they can traverse the JP quickly and don't mind porting ppl up. Plus, the daily reward is only 1 gold. If you tip 50s, a fully mastered and geared level 80 Mesmer is going to recognize that someone is giving half of their 1 gold earnings to them. That is a lot of silver and gold to lose when we are levelling (including Mastery)! Especially when trying to get Ascended gear and/or build up a bank account. My suggestion is if you want to keep tipping, do so and if they send it back that's ok ... you at least tried and that particular mesmer said "nah it's on me this time just try to pay it forward in the future."Cheers
  17. I played and levelled a Rev and dropped the staff asap. It is great for break-bars but not much else while levelling. If you can get 2 swords or a sword/axe and then use a Hammer off-hand, it will be a lot easier with mobs. Hammer is slow DPS but the AOE's essentially "smush" the adds. It is quite fun! Also, don't forget to check the Karma Vendors at each heart. They sell a lot of gear and trinkets that really help with survivability. Look for Vitality and Power while levelling and it should help. Once you get high-enough Soldiers or crafted Marauders gear with Runes of the Scholar or Runes of Strength will really help as well. You will be able to pack a bit of a punch but also live to tell the story :-) Plus you will have a good starter set for WvW should you choose to try it. Don't worry if you are in Blues and Greens while levelling either, that is all you need for now. I really agree with some of the responses suggesting you go to the other starter maps before moving on. This is a different game mechanically from many other MMOs and it takes a while to get the muscle memory trained to work in the direction your brain wishes it to go. Don't give up and keep having fun... or at least keep trying too! If you are on NA servers, feel free to friend me and if you need any help with those HPs just ask. P.S. There is some advice/info in this older thread that I commented on as well: https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/comment/460416#Comment_460416
  18. I submitted an in-game bug report last night for this exact problem. I am only getting them on one character and these "trophy" items drop into my inventory both when I log-in to that character or when I am out adventuring and my autoloot collects.
  19. I just re-watched that part of the livestream and they said "all of this will be rolled out starting next week." Like I said, it seems like it was a glitch so I am just going to be patient and wait.
  20. It seems like it was just a glitched message that likely should not have been distributed in the first place. They said in the live stream that players who already own both will be given an appreciation/veteran pack but didn't indicate when. They likely had it pre-programmed and when something wasn't ready to be distributed, they forgot to change the date of delivery in the message code.
  21. You can order from Amazon and as others have mentioned I know there are certain electronics retailers who sell Gem Store cards. The only retailer in Canada (at least locally) that I have found in The Source otherwise, I have to buy online via Amazon or in-game. To redeem the card, you just enter the code via the link below the Buy button in-game. Good luck and I hope this helps,Cheers
  22. Maybe I am misunderstanding what you mean but I was able to craft multiple copies of the varietal seed pouches. I harvested from Herb nodes in Tyria to get the extra seeds and then used the portable composter to salvage a bunch of stuff from my bank and inventory. Cheers, I think they mean that you can only harvest the ones you plant ONE time. Then you have to make new seeds to plant again.Oh thank you for clarifying! That is a bummer. I thought it would be like the regular garden seeds.

  24. It is becoming fatiguing every season to go up against the "flavour build" of the season only to see it nerfed to the ground due to community (legitimate) feedback and lack of balance. Back at launch, I started playing this game because it was marketed as the game where you could choose your own build/style; there was no tank and no healer and instead all professions were equipped to look after themselves and help their friends. Clearly, times have changed and "meta" builds have taken over; and sadly HoT's quasi holy trinity elite specs really perpetuated this in PVE. The good part for PVP is that the element of surprise is removed when trying to sort out what I need to modify in my own build in order to beat these latest "meta." Admittedly, it also takes away some of the fun and creativity that initially drew me to this game and while it really bums me out to see it in both PVE and PVP, I accept that is the evolution of this game. Personally, I am tired of seeing nerfs to professions... any profession. I would rather the team actually balance the game and demonstrate to the community that it is balanced. It is not easy and as players we must accept that each profession will have certain strengths/weaknesses but it just seems to me like profession balance is being handled like a hot potato being thrown from team-member to team-member -- rather than from a solid, game-interest standard that allows the team to demonstrate the intended outcomes to the community. I suppose i just think we get profession changes dropped on us so frequently that it is just starting to look like the hamsters are too tired to see the wheel they are treading on.
  25. Building on what Lady said above; One thing I NEVER recommend to new level 80s is Berserker gear. It is just too frustrating to run glass cannon when you do not have gliding/mounts and are trying to complete HPs in HoT maps. The free boosted gear is great for mitigation (you will still die as you learn but it won't be as often) so I tend to recommend that people run Soldiers for Power builds and Dire for Condi builds and flip out the Runes for something related to their profession e.g. Superior Rune of the Scholar or Might for power; and Superior Rune of the Adventurer for Condition (there are other more appropriate Condi runes available but some are profession specific or require Dungeon currency, until you get either, these will be fine) Good luck! I myself got very frustrated when I first ran about at level 80. Once you get some experience and a little mitigation, you will start to see your skills improve and you can begin to integrate the "meta" gear as regular gear.
