A list of Old Thief Traits you may or may not have known about (Wiki)

My Favorites, Let me know yours! Oh and these are only a fraction of old traits we had. Back in 2012 and Beta was even crazier.

- Assassin's Equilibrium: I've got 0 clue why this was reworked. I loved this unique trait, but they gutted Acro

- Critical Haste: I LOVED THIS although 30sec ICD. It was just another good opportunity for quickness. (I love quickness and I love Critical hits)

- Descent of Shadows: This was a great troll skill, it was good while it lasted back in the day, was super useful when you wanted to use environment to your advantage in your style of play

- Hastened Replenishment: More ability to generate initiative although back in the day, Shadow arts was a lot stronger, so didn't necessarily need the trait, but it was still a great utility trait, could've argued for it to be baseline just how we are still arguing for Preparedness baseline.

- Hidden Assassin: Why did we get rid of this again? I'm confused. Instead we get poison when entering stealth. I loved this trait. Super utility for a minor.

- Initial Strike: Stupid trait that should've been baseline.. I'm starting to see a trend lol. But to be honest back then, initiative generation or gain wasn't too much of a problem lol. But now it's abysmal

- Instinctual Response- Dope clutch skill I used to use, it was clutch, nothing more nothing less.

- Last Refuge: Everyone hated this skill LOL. Because to their point, you had no control over it. But it was still a super clutch skill. People just cried about self revealing because they continued to attack when they reached that Last refuge threshold. I always stowed my weapon.

- LONG REACH: BOY oh boy.. I miss this. Super clutch. I used to catch people off guard that never ran this trait. I ran this trait on all my OG  S/D Thief builds.

- Power of Inertia: Great acro trait, when paired with might on dodge food and strength runes, was super dope. OG Lyssa runes too.

- Richochet: Bruh Y Anet

- Sundering Strikes: Bruh. Give me my trait back. Vulnerability is nice. Especially on crit, no CD. My Thief build has 100% crit.. Well 80% (+20% fury) 

- Unforgiving: I will never forgive you Anet for removing this trait. I loved it.

 

-Venomous Aura and Venomous Strength: Both 2 dope venom skills that actually made our venom skills matter, especially in group play.

It's fine now. Absolute worst trait in the game was the original Hard to Catch. You remember that demonic trait?

Shadowstep away and give swiftness (12s) when you are disabled (stun, daze, float, knock down, launch, knock back, sink, or fear). This effect cannot occur more than once every 60 seconds.

BRUHHHHH I LOVED OG H2C. Honestly. It was so fun, and sometimes it even ported me above the person or a shadowstepable area. LOL. I loved the Russian roulette of the skill xD (Thats just me)

:classic_wacko: There's always that one person I suppose, lol. That trait was god awful imho. Especially when it ported me INTO the kitten group that was chasing me.

Yes, this one was really good for solo situations or when no one else was applying vulnerability. They should just give us this one (and Ricochet ofc.) back with a 100% proc chance on crit.

Yeah Vulnerability is one of the best soft condi’s in this game. And the fact that we could chain it back then was insane. Now we have this dumb 5 vuln for 5second trash. ATLEAST give me 10seconds. More reward for landing my stealth attack. But honestly, just give me my darn trait back.

Also anyone else miss Peripheral Vision?

Man initiative management was super solid back then. Wasn’t much of a problem. Then again. Weapon costs weren’t so ludicrous either. It was really the Golden Ages back then. And yeah Peripheral Vision was super dope and loved the team play value.

Exactly! That’s why I was just like “Bruh Y anet” it’s absolutely the single most bizarre and confusing take away from Thief yet.

Yeah haha. I suppose. But there were also those times where it didn’t xD and it was exciting to find out where you’d end up next. Sometimes you’d even glitch into the map or once I glitched through an enemy tower 😂

Back the base int regen was slower. They remove those trait + speed up the base regen int to avoid mandatory trait/traitline
