Nerfs destroy viability...Lack of viability kills playerbase.....The playerbase keeps asking for nerfs.......

you realize that classes can hit over 100k with skills in pve right?

I've been playing PvP in MMOs since they were invented, and the issue is more in how this game implements mechanics, not in them existing in the first place. The devs tried to be too original, instead of sticking to tried and true methods, which players often confuse for the mechanic itself being broken or impossible to do right.

 

The current situation is due to years and years of refusing to relent on this behavior, refusing to sacrifice what makes it an action game even if it means 2/3 dead game modes.

 

PvP has to have room for both powerplay and counterplay, not just one or the other.

Be like me and start asking for buffs with statistically proven needed facts with objective situations that proves the facts.

 

One thing for sure, somethings do need nerfs because they avoided the overall nerf bat while some stuff didn't need it and should be properly buffed again.

 

The biggest notable flaw with Anet isn't buff or nerfing, it's their decisions to change something and seeing that it doesn't work instead of reverting those changes before trying something else they ALWAYS keep the prior changes and ADD on top of them which ruins content.

 

One famous example is Mallyx Resistance uptime being castrated while the real issue was Infuse Light duration of 3 seconds in PvP, but they changed Resistance first, kept it THEN changed Infuse Light to 2 seconds instead of reverting the innocent prior changes. It's only worst now with Poison effects not having any counters but removal of the condition. Legend is literally not workable and pure self harm to play, not even it's damage can justify the facts.

condi rev resistance was kittening busted before resistance nerf, saying it wasnt is coping hard.
silver scrubs were getting hard carried to plat + games on the spec, 3s->2s on IL wouldnt change kitten.

Nerfs? As someone who played at original release of this game where PvP was way slower and more tactical the game feels like everything has been SUPER buffed. Damage is ridiculously high, it has taken away much of the skill ceiling that used to exist, it's awful. Power creep has hit GW2 HARD.

I would vote for a 20% damage reduction across the board AT THE LEAST. With some tuning to defensives as well of course.
